Tianjin Hotel

We had a wonderful experience at this family-run hotel that sits directly on one of Con Dao's best beaches. If you like stumbling our of bed and onto the beach, look no further. The place has some wear and tear, but it's homey and comfortable. The grounds are gorgeous, covered in gardens, flowers, various trees and well-maintained flora. Several friendly dogs keep order, and the staff, especially Vi, is friendly, efficient and helpful. Rooms are tidied daily, towels are replaced and a hearty breakfast awaits you each morning. An on site restaurant and bar offers tasty food and drinks, though the menu is largely Western. If you want to eat like a local, it's not difficult to find some spots that have incredible dishes for around 60,000 VND. Definitely go to the seafood market outside of the Con Dao Market and select your delicacies to be cooked right in front of you. It's a mind-blowing experience. Also be sure to rent a moped at the hotel, as it is 100% advisable and hassle-free. Also, they offer free airport pick up and drop off, a major plus. In fact, as we had to leave before breakfast on our last day, they handed us sandwiches to go without us asking. They have all the boxes checked and are very much on-point here, and the prices are beyond fair. I love this hotel and would return here immediately if I'm ever lucky enough to come back to magical Con Dao.

The hotel is very basic. Keep in mind you are trading comfort for $300/night rooms on the beach. Basic rooms with ac, fan, mini fridge, toiletries, wardrobe & desk. Basic breakfast of VN noodles or western style granola, oatmeal or eggs/omelette- 1 choice per person. No beach chairs or hammocks on the beach, only 10-15 bean bags. Not ideal for long lazy days. On-site restaurant Bar 200 has some of the best & reasonably priced western food. I think the price of food in general on the island is quite high. Again- you can pay double or triple the price to stay next door on the same beach with nicer rooms & a pool or stay here for a budget friendly option. We also rented scooters for 150k/day.

Perfect location on An Hoi beach and excellent value for money. Yes, the rooms are rather dated and the building is shabby but this location at this price is amazing. Despite the rooms being basic they are very clean. Many people from other hotels are coming here to Bar 200 for good food and to lounge in bean bags on the beach under the shady palms. Sometimes the beach is completely empty but it gets busier around 5pm. The bar food is mainly Western like pizza and burger which is a shame as the Vietnamese soup was delicious. All the staff were lovely and helpful and the youngsters working in the bar work very hard. Get a sea view room and enjoy the fantastic view across the gardens.

If you are expecting a 5 star resort service this is probably not for you. The rooms are large, very basic but clean. The property is not immaculate by any means but the breakfast is very good (coffee awful) and the staff very nice and helpful. The location is absolutely perfect and on the beach - probably the best location hotel wise on the island. Close to town with everything walkable though you can rent a motorbike. Bar 200 is on site and great for food or drinks, again probably one of the best locations bar wise and people come here from other hotels. All in all it provides well at a good price. Quiet and homely with everything you need. Relaxing in bean bags on the beach is priceless. Breakfast and airport transfers included to !

If you look for sea front stay with fair price then Thien Tan hotel is of value. As I know only 2 hotels in the island center are located on the beach, direct to the sea, and Thien Tan is one of them. The rooms are simple but clean and though not a luxury one, I appraised the towels, they are newer and fluffier than some luxury hotels that I stayed in Con Dao. Meals: Simple breakfast cuisines both for locals and westerners. Restaurants served for guest's specific orders. My seafood dinner was so good. Impressive! Service: Normal service as expected for the type of hotel. Plus point is friendly staffs willing to help. The hotel has Bar 200 known for very good pizza, pasta ... good price. Highly recommend ( It's just a small bar so when it's busy, waiting time was longer than expected - however, I don't mind that much).

The nicest place we stayed in two years in Vietnam. The cleanest beach. The nicest staff. The most relax d place to stay. We stayed 9 days. The beach is often empty. I don’t know if it’s private but we were often alone in the sea. The water is cristal clear. The mostly young staff at breakfast and in the bar where very friendly. Hope we can come back. Restaurant is western, reasonable priced and of good quality. Breakfast is simple and tasteful. 9 days of Phô and every day a different one. Con Dao is the cleanest island and place we visited in Vietnam
