A decent option, if you are traveling on a budget.
I booked because it was competitively priced with generally positive reviews. I stayed for a month while I was working, which gave me the opportunity to see things when they were running well and when they weren’t.
+: The rooms are reasonably comfortable. There is a restaurant affiliated with the hotel that runs about $4-$12 per item, offering solid quality and reasonable diversity. The security staff were easily the friendliest and most helpful of all the employees, especially Ibrahamin.
+/-: The hotel is on a busy intersection that includes a lot of street vendors so prepared to be asked for money as soon as you leave the lobby if you don’t look like a local. The desk staff is mixed: while I generally found the men to be quite friendly, there are two women who have no patience if you do not speak French well; one of them speaks English but she can come across as rude. The cleaning staff is generally good, keeping your room stocked with a couple of water bottles, tea bags, and instant coffee, but can be pushy when they want to clean and did not always respect the “do not disturb sign.”
-: The staff basically do not speak English. The internet was unreliable, dropping out for three consecutive days on one occasion. The hotel has two elevators, but sometimes only one works. You must pay for breakfast and the picture of the continental layout they advertise is misleading. The “gym” is three cardio machines in a windowless room. The rooftop area is non-functional.
