We arrived at the caravan park after a long day’s travel. We took the allocated site. We immediately noticed that none of the sites had water, only electricity. There is nothing to indicate this on the website. Maybe it’s the same for all Coober Pedy caravan parks?You can buy water for $1 for 40L by pulling up alongside the one and only tap. It turns out, although there were plenty of empty sites, the one we were allocated was right at the entrance of the park and backed on to the main road. Being beside the not very wide entrance meant we got covered in dust by vehicles that were speeding in and out of the park and made hitching and unhitching our van stressful as vehicles could not get past us to enter or leave the park. The amenities block is clean and tidy. The laundry has modern, card only, washing machines and dryers. There was a tap continuously running in the laundry, hugely wasting water. It wouldn’t turn off. We were given vouchers for the restaurant for 2 free drinks and a 15% discount off dinner. We took advantage of this and had a nice dinner in the restaurant.

My husband and I stayed here overnight en route to Alice Springs. Good place to stay. Well priced. Basic rooms but with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Really clean, central location. Quiet. Comfortable bed. Good shower Welcoming reception staff.

Had one night accommodation in August 2024. Pretty average Motel. Stayed at this establishment probably about 30 years ago as well and it looks like the rooms haven't changed since! Bathroom fairly awful and in need of a complete re-furb. Check in very quick and staff very friendly and helpful so no problems there. Nice big bar/dining room which was good. Food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. Local inhabitants very noisy until well into the night. Overall OK for a one night stay but probably wouldn't want to stay any longer.

Excellent location Opal Caravan Park. Best bit discounted meals in restaurant for live in guests. Our 11 am departure was not a problem. Great laundry and lots of clothes lines. Very clean. Stayed 3 nights. Powered sites reasonable price. Only down side paying for water. Can buy water at park or over the road at Visitor Information part green bowser.

Very friendly service. Rooms clean enough. Location very central. Laundry in caravan park only accepted card- I only carry cash. Received complimentary drink and coffee cards on arrival. Nice gesture. Adequate parking. Campground very noisy with passing trucks etc in the night.

This place is a joke. Asked for downstairs room and was confirmed to get one but it was upstairs. Room 86 is beside room 26!!!! Near impossible to find even with stupid map! ‘FREE WIFI’ another joke! Slow and keeps disconnecting so gave it a miss! Room smelt! Still had rubbish bag and rubbish dumped on floor. Baby vomit on chair, hole in ceiling badly patched with cardboard!!! Punched hole in door! Shower had no pressure at all and hot water wasn't hot. I froze. Bathroom Dirty and pee stained. Toiletries were for 2 people not the 5 (equal to beds). Curtain barely up. I'm appalled at the state of the room for the price! NEVER AGAIN! Will make sure no one else stays here either!!

Clean, tasty, fresh and good service. The chef should get a commendation for actually cooking!!! The atmosphere is that great but a nice meal in the e middle of nowhere!!! Come in and enjoy it you won’t regret it. the dishes we certainly didn’t.

Wasn't a good choice staying at this caravan park . As soon as we set up I immediately noticed it was very littered and untidy looking . Then to the toilet block I go and there was rubbish all around the entrance and a little tidy up was in need . Inside the doors in the cubicles do not have locks and I had to use a screwdriver for a lock . One time I went for a shower and no water came out . We left a day earlier as had enough and a van was damaged by hoods . I should have done my homework and gone to a gated park
