Well, this was described as a Luxury Karma Hotel, possibly best in the area. We returned from a week away last week, and made some fantastic choices of hotels and accommodation on our road trip, and stayed here one night, but the Photos look great for this hotel, but unfortunately compared to what I’d read, it’s a little tired, possibly many years ago could have been classed luxury? We stayed in two rooms upstairs, the stairs up have no handrails, (health & safety?) and two of us nearly fell down, trying to carry up cases on the stairs that could be slightly difficult to manuver. I did mention to front of house, who agreed to inform management. rooms clean, breakfast a lovely individual plate of croissants, hams, jam & yogurt, no cooked breakfasts here. We ate in the dining room for lunch on day of arrival ( after passing the hotel lane twice) nice food but small portions for the price. Staff very friendly and helpful. The car parking was excellent, but due to us finding it difficult to find, even with sat nav & google maps, apparently according to staff happens all the time. So, management, suggest you erect a Hotel sign by the War Memorial showing your location, would help many more travellers, and have hand rail put on the outside stairs to rooms. The location of this hotel is great for visiting Marlow area, when you find it! I can see this could be a great location for Party or Wedding.

I held my 50th birthday celebrations at Sanctum on the Green last weekend. I cannot recommend this wonderful boutique hotel highly enough. Louise and Mark (the managers) are amazing people to deal with and so very very accommodating. My party went off without a single hitch and the amazing team that Louise and Mark have working with them are truly phenomenal. The rooms are certainly very quirky and everyone who stayed at SotG thought they were awesome! My husband and I had dinner on the first night and the restaurant could not have been more accommodating to his dietary requirements - thank you. The BBQ that was put on for my guests for my birthday celebrations was absolutely faultless - thank you once again. We will definitely be back for a bite to eat and if the weather if good enough to sit by the pool (or even venture in!). SotG - you are amazing and thank you for everything,

We came here for a Caribbean bbq day on the bank holiday weekend. The outdoor area was very busy but it didn’t feel it. The steel drums music was a delight and the bbq options were varied. I really liked the rum punch too! And the limbo and table tennis was a good source of entertainment! Add to that the use of the pool on a summers day, it was pretty perfect! Very friendly and efficient staff too in a lovely setting.

On arrival looked like the perfect location, there are two EV electric points which was handy for me to top up after a 2 hour drive. Check in was fast and easy. The room was not luxury in anyway so if you want luxury I would go elsewhere. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom needs to be cleaned better. The bedding had old stains on and there were wrappers left in drawers from previous customers.. staff were pleasant.

Very welcoming staff. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was basic.. Continental.. not great when you are gluten free Arrived back at hotel about 1020 soaking wet but bar, lounge etc. all closed no staff around so couldn’t get a hot drink and dry off before heading to room. Despite this it’s a lovely little place to stay

We've just had a 2 night stay in the garden lodge. We loved our room, the hotel, restaurant and the location. It was perfect to visit Cliveden House (the purpose of our stay), Hughenden Manor and Marlow. The hotel was apparently taken over in Jan 2024, so is under new management. We think it was the Manager/Owner we spoke to on our first night, who'd also checked us in. He was very friendly and helpful. Our meal in the restaurant was excellent, every course was superb and we loved the ambience. The continental breakfast served during the week was spot on and more than enough to keep us going til lunch. We didn't get to use the pool, but there's a pool bar being built, so this will be a great hotel to use in the warmer months with those 2 facilities. The bed and bedding in the garden lodge was wonderful and very hard to leave! We'll definitely return, possibly with friends next time, as there's lots more to explore nearby. Thanks for a great break.

We stayed in a courtyard room and it was perfect. Parking is close by, and we were let in despite being an hour early. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom facilities were good. The only improvement would have been a heated mirror as the shower fogged the mirrors up, but otherwise it was fine. The staff were all very friendly, and that really was the highlight. We had lunch in the pub and that was very good, with an excellent apple crumble pudding. We went to an event and came back in the evening half an hour after the kitchen had closed. We were peckish, but did not expect more than a drink and a packet of crisps. Sam and Matt, the chefs, were in the bar and made us a very good roast beef sandwich, that was nicely presented in spite of it being late. We did not expect this, and it was all done in the most charming way. Becky in the bar was also excellent. We left feeling that we had experienced true hospitality. A great stay.

The setting for this property is beautiful. There are some really quirky features and would love to visit again in the summer when we could enjoy the garden. Bedrooms were well equipped and bed comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was served all on one rather small plate, would have preferred a roll rather than a croissant with my ham and cheese but nice selection of fruit. We had a meal at the property and this was enjoyable but would have liked more vegetables.
