Best Hotels in Coral Bay, Cyprus

It is with dismay and extreme anger that I write this review. On 12th October 2023 I rang to make a reservation for my husband and myself for two nights. The man I spoke to on the telephone told me the price, how much breakfast would be, the check in time, and took details and my name. I had told him that we would be travelling from Larnaca, a two and half hour journey and so the booking was made over the phone. The following day, once we had arrived, we were greeted by a disgruntled receptionist who could not find our reservation. She had spent a good five minutes searching for my name on the reservation list. It was evident that she was becoming agitated because she could not find my reservation. You can imagine our frustration on hearing this and she kept reiterating that there was no reservation under my name. She proceeded to ring her boss, Mr Dimitri Demetriou - the same man I had initially spoken to when I first made the reservation, and started shouting at him. She then passed the phone to me to speak to him. After reminding him that we had already spoken the previous day when I made the reservation, he categorically told me there was no room available; and to my dismay, I told him this was unacceptable and irresponsible. So, basically we were stranded without a room for those two evenings. To make matters worse, the receptionist verbally abused us and called us derogatory names, especially as she realised we were Greek Cypriots from England. This incident has left me embarrassed because we were treated badly by our own kind. And another thing when I told Mr Demetriou that I would be reporting him to the CTO, all he could say to me was ”Go ahead”.

This is by far the best hotel i have had the pleasure of visiting - ever. I repeat...ever. I have reviewed well over 100 hotels on TA, and i cannot overstate the awesomeness of this property. The place is beautiful, immaculately clean and the rooms are at an unsurpassed standard of comfort. The attention to esthetic detail all over the hotel, public spaces and rooms are, simply put, a straight 10. We stayed in the cabana rooms (009 and 010) and they were truly a special experience. By far, the highest compliment i can give goes to the staff at the Amavi. All of them, without exception, were very courteous, always smiling and highly responsive and professional. I was upset by one reviewer who commented negatively about the staff, so i will say this again - I have never experienced such a high standard of service, from the bell-boys at the entrance, the reception, restaurants, guest services and housekeeping. Credit must be given to the hotel’s GM and to those responsible for the staff training and maintenance of such high standards. The food was better than outstanding. The dinner at Nocturne was one of the best cuisine experiences that i, together with my friends, have ever experienced. Thank you for this weekend experience. We will return - as often as possible - and it is a pleasure to know that you can access such a high-quality property, at a reasonable price.

The most wonderful place to stay in Paphos. From the moment you arrive you are treated excellent from every member of staff. Very friendly, warm and polite and cannot do enough for you. We stayed last year and didn’t even consider going anywhere else this year as the hotel had everything you could possibly want… excellent food and choice from morning til night, great location all round, bus (cheap as chips) and very frequent. The room was absolutely amazing (even better than last year) with the maid coming in every day. Super clean in every part of the hotel and beautiful grounds. Have to say Agatha on the front desk is a real credit to the hotel going above and beyond so anything you need to know…. ask Agatha. Thank you to all the lovely and incredibly hard working staff, we had the best time ever and are already looking at dates for next year.

Checked in for the second time, still very satisfied, very beautiful, breakfast and dinner were great, friends recommended it, friends also said it was very good, the night view is very beautiful, blue sea during the day, beautiful swimming pool at night

We have just came back from a wonderful family holiday in Cyprus. We stayed at the CBH and we had an absolutely fantastic time! It was out first time in Cyprus so we read the reviews of a few hotels in Cyprus and decided to go to the CBH. I can honestly say that it was one of the best holidays we have had. All the staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful from management, reception team, to the cleaning staff. The location of the hotel is right by the beach and the facilities are fantastic. My only little grumble (and I mean little!!) was the fact there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room as I like my coffee first thing and so would recommend that you bring your own travel kettle if you like your morning drink. We requested a fridge at a small cost for our drinks etc. You may also have to request an iron if needed (no cost). I would definitely recommend this hotel especially if you enjoy a nice relaxing time. We were in rooms 757, 756 and 751. Not sea view but very nice. I would also like to mention that we cannot thank the staff enough for their assistance when my granddaughter, who has epilepsy, suffered from seizures and ended up in hospital! They were very concerned and could not do enough for us. A very big THANK YOU the Manager, Mr Ioannou who made a point of talking to the guests every day! Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!!

Thank you to such amazing staff all around. Loretta the lovely Receptionist went above and beyond and totally understand my phobia of lifts, lovely young lady. Entertainment was also incredible and Marios was so enthusiastic in everything he done, he put his heart and soul into his job, the aqua aerobics was so much fun, energetic, enthusiastic and funny also. He also advised on places to visit. Allesandra was so lovely and Lou an absolute star, so nervous on her first day but done brilliant! Marios, you so deserve being Entertainment Manager! The loveliness of every single member of staff member was amazing! Food was sooo tasty, the carvery delicious. Would recommend this hotel. Nothing was a problem at all. Thank you. Xx

We have just returned from a great holiday at the Mayfair Hotel, Paphos 4th - 11th November 2023. There are 2 parts to the hotel, the Hotel and Gardens, both are located together in nice well kept grounds and with 3 outdoor and 1 indoor (heated) pool with plenty of sunbeds. We stayed in the Mayfair Hotel and room was spotlessly clean with Tea / Coffee facilities and a fridge which was ideal. Food was excellent with a great choice for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and there was also a dedicated section for Vegan and Vegetarian choices as well as the excellent selection of salads from the salad bar, there is a lovely outdoor dining terrace and staff are very attentive. The bar staff were friendly and with a great selection of drinks included within the All Inclusive Package and is worth the difference. There was a varied evening entertainment programme with some great live singers performing and the entertainment team had a programme of activities throughout the day. The spa was relaxing and well priced. Already looking at returning next November as weather was excellent and this is a great hotel choice, yes it is in a residential area but its only a 15 minute walk to the waterfront / harbour area and would definitely recommend.

We've had a great stay. Mini market, restaurant, lovely pools and spacious rooms at the hotel. Yes parts of it are dated but it's 30 degrees most of the year so this is likely to happen anywhere. We've only paid £40 a night for self catering so that's great for a 3 Star hotel. Some holiday sites are still saying its a 4 star but it's not. Location is 10 minutes away from the beach but a nice walk. The bus (615) stops outside the beach and takes you all the way to paphos where you can get another bus further if needed. It's only 5 euro for a day pass per person to go anywhere. I recommend getting the bus to Harbour Station and trying the food there which was outstanding. Please don't listen to some reviews on here as they are a bit over the top!
