Very friendly

The rooms are a decent size with spacious and modern bathrooms. The shower is a little cramp due to a soap dish and handle attached to the wall exactly where you want to stand. The pillows and bed were very comfortable and I had a great night sleep all week! The room was a bit warm as the A/C wasn’t working but Mel on reception managed to sort the problem with a smile in no time! Thanks for your friendly and professional service. The bar and restaurant serve a great selection of dishes, which all taste delicious! And the servers were again friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I enjoyed my stay and have already booked to return.

We have been here on many occasions and cannot believe a place that realy goes the extra mile to make your stay , a big shout out to the staff to include Eileen in the resturant also maddie were both great with every need . After dinner we went to the bar and was greeted by Lucy who was very polite and served us with all what we needed, The reception staff also need a big thumbs up who were Ellen and Laura who sorted out extra pillows for us , nouthing was a problem, what ever you need it's sorted straight away it was a great pleasure staying once again well done all .

We had our wedding at the holiday inn Corby in the heart suite. The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. The events team were so helpful and the coordinator on the day was also brilliant. The bar staff and waiting staff were also great too. We couldn’t believe how quickly and how easily they seemed to change the rooms around too from the ceremony to the breakfast and then the reception, it was so incredible to see them change it all so quickly. There wasn’t a single thing that we didn’t like or wasn’t what we asked for. Thank you all so much!

I emailed the HI reception desk to request a conference room booking. Reception did nothing with the email for a week so when I called the day before the booking requested, the events team had no knowledge of it. The lady on the phone was helpful and got me set up for the conference as originally requested. Post meeting, I asked for an invoice, I was told I couldn’t have an invoice at the time and it would be emailed over from the events team. Fast forward a week, and it would seem (despite the lady taking my payment details over the phone and confirming “all has gone through”), no payment was actually taken and so it’s taken a week for these people to find my booking. I have now received an invoice dated today and for whatever reason, the hotel cannot create the invoice arrival date to be that of the conference yet any other holiday inn that I have been to show a different arrival date to payment date (as usually you check out after the day you check in ‍♀️)! I’ve been asked 3 or 4 times, who I spoke to, what card did I use for payment and it’s taken well over a week just to get an invoice out of them.. the worst hotel in the IHG chain I have had to deal with thus far. That was my first and last conference at this hotel!

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and valued. Mel did one of the friendliest checkins I’ve encountered, we were welcomed in the room with a bed for our dog, doggie treats and a toy. There was a, very minor, issue with our room service but Caitlin took ownership of the issue and resolved it immediately, textbook service that really set the hotel apart. The building itself is a nice holiday inn but it is the staff here that lift it to a higher level. I spend a lot of time in holiday inn hotels, some would say too much, but rarely do I leave with the intention to return as soon as possible… but I did here.

The hotel feels a bit dated but fine for a few fictional nights. Our stay was disrupted by another set of guests deciding to party at 1am. The staff were effective at getting them to quieten down eventually but thin walls and doors mean you hear all noises on the corridor. Gym looked very good if that's your thing.

The welcome was non-existent. I felt like I was interupting the receptionist by being there. Check in was provided with no information, no restaurant information or where to go for breakfast when I asked about breakfast it was pointed out to me as - over there. Room was along many winding corridors. On entry I was convinced this was an accessible room which I did not need, sink was very low. Went back to reception to request a room swap still thinking it was an accessible room. I was assured me this was a standard room and they couldnt do anything (this was not true as my collegues had different rooms with normal height sinks). The shower confirmed this was not used as an accessible room as it was tight, the shower head didnt adjust and there was a large wire holder on the wall which more restricted the space you had and I kept banging into and caught my arm which started to bleed. I reported it to reception who said, thanks - nothing else. The room was of a good size. I decided to try the spa and see what I could get and managed some treatments with Gemma who was lovely, there were some promotions on and Im glad I went to ask. The pool looked good although busy. The gym had lots of equipment and staff in there were great too and really helpful. Breakfast staff were lovely, the food was hot and a lot of variety, only bug with this is that the toasters took ages to toast and there was a long wait due to them taking so long other than that, it was a nice set up and tasty. I stay in Corby for work frequently and my first visit to this hotel, I probably wont come back because of the way reception acted but other than that its ok.
