Good hotel with history. Good location, amenities are but outdated.

The hotel is very conveniently located. You can walk to the British Market. There are many restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel facilities and layout are also very tasteful. The designer of this hotel also designed several famous buildings in the city. The only problem is that the toilet drains very slowly. Parking is also charged separately.

This hotel has history, and it stands out among hotels in its price range. Every detail has been carefully curated, and it's possible to feel that you are in a grand hotel in a grand city. One of us uses a cane and has visible trouble walking. On check-in, it was probably too late to move us to a room that does not require navigating stairs.   However, in the breakfast room, we were given a table down several steps, even though there were at least a dozen free tables on the floor level. Again, this area is beautifully decorated, including a round table with attractive and impractical boxed supports that make it impossible to sit comfortably.   Each hotel has to work out how to serve breakfast economically while providing an excellent experience for the guests. The ”bird cage” high tea type assortment used at the Imperial must mean they discard items that guests have not selected.   Although this property would be among the first we'd consider on a return visit, we would not choose the breakfast option.

My two friends and I found this hotel stay to be our favorite! Our room was gorgeous and the beds and pillows super comfy! We had a table and chairs for sipping our coffee and shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion were provided. Service was excellent! My friend loved her massage and the breakfast is not to be missed. The hotel staff were charming and the reading room and tea room are cozy. Within walking distance to the market and restaurants.

The location was superb, the staff very friendly and helpful and the rooms well appointed. They offered to recommend local pubs and restaurants, of which there is a great variety in Cork. It had a very traditional feel on entering the hotel.
