Fota Island Resort

The atmosphere at the Hotel was lovely from arrival to departure. The Hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff very pleasant and professional. The beds very comfortable, really good pillows ! Good choice of food on the menu. We had a lovely stay and would definitely return. We visited the wildlife park and enjoyed it too.

We stayed in fota hotel on sunday night last the rooms are beautiful the food was fabulous staff were extremely helpful and accomodating we went to see the christmas lights and to see santa the hotel was very busy but the staff were well able to cope overall a wonderful experience

Let down from the minute we arrived. Not a 5 star whatsoever. Rooms are not 5 star quality. Very basic. Have been to nicer 4 stars. We stated for 2 nights. The food on the first night was awful! Do not get the burgers! They are cooked in advance and just reheated (well at least that's what it tasted like) My partner got the chicken burger which was very dry and tasted like it was under a heater for hours and similarly the Beef burger was the same. The bundys were stale. We cancelled our meal in the restaurant the second night as there was no atmosphere and we were apprehensive about the food considering the quality from the first night. They didn't show any of the rugby and only had 2 tvs in the entire bar even though we were told They would show it. Breakfast first morning was good, nice and fresh and a lovely seat in the restaurant area. Breakfast on the second morning was a nightmare! We asked if we could sit in the restaurant part again and were told no. The lady seating people was not good at her job whatsoever! They messed up our order 3 times. Waiter took our order (trying to memorise it rather than writing down) When she arrived with the food I was told "this is what you ordered, this is what I heard" very abruptly. Again not what you would expect for 5 stars. Manager rang our room as we left a disappointing review on our ipad in the room and we were told "but your going to eat there again tonight" we were offered a drink but refused as st this stage a drink wasn't going to change anything. Overall, this was a big let down and not 5 star quality. We will certainly not be returning as it is not 5 star quality and not worth the price it costs!

Really nice hotel, room was lovely, clean and spacious. We went for a lovely walk and ended up sitting outside at the clubhouse, beautiful views of golf course there and the nachos were pretty good!. Breakfast was fab, lots of choice. Food in the Amber restaurant was gorgeous. Only negative was the charcuterie board was a terrible letdown. Anna in the restaurant was fantastic at her job. Staff overall were great. Would definitely go again.

Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary we decided to travel from Donegal to fota island resort. Upon arrival this beautiful setting we were greeted with a very warm welcome and shown to our luxurious room. The food in the fota restaurant was outstanding especially the having such a variety of gluten free options, and only surpassed by the wonderful staff (particularly Anna) this is truly a special treat and we very much look forward to returning. The Christmas decor made it even a more magical experience. Well done

What an example of crass ignorance! I walked into the men's restroom (toilets)of the wildlife park and noticed that there was a clear window with a view from outside leading straight to a clear view of the men's urinals as the main door was held open with a wedge. So basically all of the kids outside could see men with themselves exposed. I kicked the wedge holding the main door open so it could close and give me some privacy. After I cleaned up a woman occupying an office IN the men's toilet walks out of and IN the men's toilet and wedges the door open again. Absolute pig ignorance and the managers were out so there was nobody inform. Not a wildlife park for kids or men who value their privacy.
