This was our second visit to the hotel for more sunshine and swimming. We chose to come back after having an enjoyable stay in April with the hotel having been very helpful towards my wife’s limited walking ability. That helpfulness continued for this visit and we want to thank the reception and guest relations teams for dealing with our requests. An extra thank you to Glenn for finding us a mobility scooter that we could hire. We had requested the same room from our previous stay and were fortunate in getting it as its location right by the pool is ideal for us, and it is a quiet and comfortable room. Since our last stay it has been enhanced by the addition of a huge double lounger on the terrace, which was very comfortable and we enjoyed lying out on it in the evenings. We’ll certainly book these deluxe terrace rooms for future visits if available. The hotel’s staff remains its greatest asset, from reception to those in the bar and restaurant to the cleaners and facilities staff, all being so friendly, helpful and good at their jobs. The food and drink was as good as before, the a la carte system for the hot meals being so much better than a self service hot buffet. We’d have liked to have seen some changes in the offerings since April, particularly the starters for dinner. There were however a few changes to the daily specials. Bar drinks and cocktails remain good but we miss the White Mexico, which was no longer on the cocktail menu. We will say again that the endlessly refillable green water bottle for an initial cost of €6 is a great idea. We spent most of our days around, or in the pool; it’s a relaxing place to read or just take in the world. The hotel didn’t seem to be booked out so there were plenty of sun beds for everyone on most days. The pool was cool but after a minute or two of acclimatisation it was a nice temperature for lounging and swimming. If we had to ask for one improvement it would be to replace the parasols please! Everyone complains about them as they are so difficult to lock open and many are broken or taped up. On Tuesdays and Thursdays you get live singers at the pool. On this visit there was a trio of South African soul singers who were absolutely brilliant with fantastic voices. They certainly livened up the pool area for a couple of hours. Please make them regulars. We are back again at H10 Ocean Dreams soon for another stay.
