Rifugio Locanda Ospitale

Stayed at Ristorante Ospitale for a couple of days while enjoying skiing in Cortina d’Ampezzo. We had a wonderfull experience while staying here. The staff was friendly and always welcoming. Rooms were cleaned everyday. The food at the restaurant was delicious with a great selection of starters, main dishes and deserts. They also have plenty of choices for white and red wine. Plenty of parking spaces and great breakfast adapted by when you want to have it in the morning. Definitely recommend staying here as the prices are resonably lower compared to hotels in Cortina.

The room is big and clean. Bathroom is nice, though shower box is a bit small. We stayed on the second floor and food smell came up from kitchen on level 0. Dinner was good. The restaurant was busy. Hospitality was not outstanding. Quite hard to get attention from staffs ..

Simply sublime. The location is a bit outside Cortina centro, but we’ll worth the trip! The food is excellent, with delicate portions for a wide variety of local specialties. The game dishes was perfectly paired with the wine selection. Friendly and professional staff. Reasonable prices. I hope to return soon!

The rooms were nice, very clean with comfortable beds and wonderful view. Unfortunately there were some families with split rooms not next to each other so constantly people knocked on other peoples doors very early. There is no real ski room but you can bring your gear to an empty chamber with an extra entrance but no racks or hangers. The breakfast is mainly packeged muesli and crackers, some dolce as mini sweet croissants and a small cake. Some cut game meat and 5 slices of cheese which once gone will not refilled. Scrambled eggs on request - patience ! Same with cappuchino. My very last one was even hot. We tried the restaurant one night - if you are a game meat lover, it is definitely your place. No fish, no salads, barely something vegetarian (vegan ? haha ...). Upon our comment that maybe some people are not so much into game meat we got a slightly aggessive speech of the female owner that nobody complained in 50 years. I worked in the kitchen for 12 years and I see what I see - this night there were a lot of younger ladies in the place desperately checking the menue for food alternatives. And I seriously I have another opinion of how to address to a customer even if you own the place and have a different opinion. In this case - misson accomplished - we will never come back. The customer rules.
