We reserved the private en-suite for one night as we stopped in to Cozumel just to go do some scuba diving. The reservation process was easy and it was hassle free. We received a code shortly after payment processed. Received a message with all of the info we needed and connected with one of the people from the property management. We ended up getting in late evening but we actually got to meet the owner of the b&b. She mentioned to us that it was the first b&b in Cozumel. It was a very comfy and homey vibe. Definitely recommend checking it out. You definitely get your bang for your buck with the en-suite. Clean and comfy. A/C and fan worked great. Warm and cold water. Did the job for us to get good rest before a day full of scuba diving. They also let us store our luggage for the day after we checked out and went scuba diving! They are very kind

I was spied on in the shower by a hotel employee, and management tried to cover it up. It wasn’t until we involved the police that they became cooperative. What happened? Look at the photos, and you’ll see a sliding window in the shower that opens to a hallway closet. While I was showering, I looked up and saw a man’s face in the window, watching me. I screamed, grabbed a towel, and ran out to the hallway. When I opened the closet next to my room, I found that same man wearing a hotel uniform, trying to climb down from the window that overlooks my shower. He tried to push past me, but I caught him by the sleeve and took his radio. I shouted for help, and he said over and over, “Please, don’t tell.” Other guests arrived to assist me, and started taking photos and video of the scene. The desk clerk named Angel came upstairs and initially claimed that he’d told the pervert peeping tom named Vicktor to get a broom from that closet. Observe from the photo that this is not a utility closet, and is empty except for pipes. We also found footholds carved into the cinderblock beneath the shower window. Once we pointed out the falsehood of his claim, Angel then said that Vicktor was never in the closet, that it’s his word against mine. Angel refused to call the hotel manager, and then refused to call the police. He took Victor to the office behind the hotel desk, and we saw him on his phone, smiling and laughing. Members of my group called the police and contacted the hotel owner Gilberto, who said he would come in 2 hours because he was not nearby. I give credit to the local police in Cozumel, who responded quickly, and also called their supervisor to the scene, who took our reports and investigated the closet. We discovered that many rooms, on all four floors of the hotel, have these fake utility closets with windows opening to the shower. None of the closets were locked, and only women had been assigned to these rooms by the front desk clerk. When the owner Gilberto arrived, he initially denied everything, then once the police sergeant supervised the interaction, the owner finally conceded that “because it’s bad for business,” he would repair the shower windows and lock the closets, and he also said Vicktor the peeping tom would be terminated. However Gilberto the owner denied that Angel the desk clerk had any part in covering up the incident or funneling female guests to those rooms. I was very concerned about what appeared to be a serious safety and privacy problem—who knows many staff are involved in their peeping tom operation and how long they’ve been doing it? How young are their victims? Are they taking photos and video too? I’ve never felt so violated and disgusted. There are plenty of nice places to stay in Cozumel, go someplace that takes the privacy and safety of their guests seriously.

We were incredibly disappointed with this hotel, it looks 5 star but the experience isn’t. We stayed July 2024. On check in, the whole process took over an hour because they had put our reservation down for August…not July. This was eventually resolved and we were given a ‘temporary’ room for a few hours. At this point we were understanding- these things happen and they offered a solution. The man on the check in was pleasant but incredibly slow. We stayed for 4 nights and there is no doubt the setting is wonderful and the rooms were lovely- however breakfast (included) was atrocious and lacking the basics. Bread but no butter or jam etc out, we had to ask every time and often more than one member of staff to eventually get it- often taking over 20 mins. One day there was no buffet at all but no one could explain why. You could order 2 out of the 3 remaining dishes on the menu but you were only allowed one per person. I had pancakes but then had the same fiasco that they came with no syrup and I had to ask 2 members of staff and wait 20 mins to eventually get it. On the Saturday night we stayed there, the hotel decided to throw a party until 2am…. Guests unfortunately were not invited or made aware so we were kept awake for several hours in our room. I went to reception to complain and was told a manager would speak with me in the morning..needless to say they didn’t. Reading between the lines, they host a lot of events for the local community (which is great) but the communication around it was poor and not acceptable for hotel guests. If they had invited hotel guests and offered a drink on the house or something along those lines it would make much more sense. The whole experience was completely bizarre and not worth the price they charged. I would expect this kind of service from a cheap local guesthouse, not a 5 star resort. The staff were not unpleasant at all but poorly organised and lacking basic communication.

Every part of our two stays at Hotel zen was excellent! Clean comfy beds, super helpful and kind staff, and the view from our sea-view room was incredible.
The restaurant was an unexpected pleasure, from the background music to the world class cuisine.
Love love love the infinity pool and sauna right on the oceans edge.
Huge thumbs up!

Mostly highs with just a couple small lows (would give it a 4.5 if that was an option) 1) The resort is pretty small and super chill. You're not going to find a bunch of music playing or foam parties - if that's what you're after I wouldn't go here (that's not what I was after so I was very pleased). 2) If you're booking straight through Marriott try to swing the all-inclusive package before hand, I wouldn't pay the $95 per person per day when you get there but if you check back often on Marriott you can snag if for pretty cheap depending on when you go, we got it for $30 per person per day on a deal and it was DEFINITELY worth that. 3) Since it's an all-inclusive OPTIONAL resort you don't need to just walk around with dollars bills for every single time you get a drink or anything else, just tip at the end on a room charge like you would anywhere else. I really enjoyed this after having been to a couple AIs where the staff expected a tip every single time they did anything. 4) Speaking of staff - Alex, who was working the beach service and the snack bar, was FANTASTIC. By the second day he knew what we were going to get to drink and was super speedy in getting the drinks and food and he was very personable. Even outside of Alex the entirety of the staff was also nice, everyone was smiling and seemed to really enjoy their jobs which makes everything so much more enjoyable. 5) The only real negative thing I could mention is the food options can get a little limited if you're going to spend a while there. There are only 2 main dinner restaurants and they alternate back and forth (but you can do room service, if you do swing for the AI I'd recommend this for sure as they only charge $3 for the delivery!) so after day 3 or 4 you'll probably get a little burnt out on the same food but we didn't stay longer than that and since our entire point for the trip was rest and relaxation we didn't bother leaving the property but there is a pretty highly rated place right across the street if you wanted some variety. It was definitely a nice and relaxing stay and exactly what we were looking for so if you're looking for a nice chill place to spend 3-5 days I'd highly recommend it. Oh, also, they have a fan over the bed and it WORKS so if you get tired of being hot in hotel rooms you will love this place because boy does that fan make a HUGE different.

GGuest UserI felt the price we paid for this hotel was not warranted based on the quality for the following reasons: 1. Shower drain was broken and had a piece of round plastic covering it to protect you getting cut on the metal pieces. 2. Decor is not great. 3. We had to ask for toilet paper a few times as opposed to it being supplied during cleaning. 4. We talked to a number of other people who paid less than half what we paid - in fairness this was my fault. I booked on booking.com and paid what they asked. One couple booked at the hotel and were able to negotiate a price less than half what we paid. 5. It is situated across the street from a night club and the music is very loud. We initially thought it would make sleeping a problem but fortunately it didn't bother us at all. 6. Smoking was allowed on the patio during breakfast. On the positive side: 1. Staff are great. The breakfast staff and cleaning staff are very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast staff will cut up fruit for you if you ask. Miriam was a favorite for us because she spoke fluent english. 2. The place is very clean - they are cleaning all day. The pool is cleaned regularly - but is quite cold. I liked it this way actually. 3. It is close to the downtown plaza. 4. The AC works really well. 5. They have two hotel cats. :) This could be a negative for some people. 6. The bed is very comfortable - we had a king sized bed which was fantastic. The bedding was changed frequently - I think every other day. The bed is made up every day. Overall I would stay here again but would expect a much lower price.
GGuest UserNot only is the facilities well maintained, but the staff are very friendly and friendly.
Also, all inclusive meals and food and drinks are also varied and tasty, well maintained and you can have a leisurely break on the private beach of the resort which is not crowded.
I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days, but I would like to highly recommend it to my acquaintances as well as I want to find it again if I have a chance.
GGuest UserPROS: This is the best beach and ocean location and the main reason we chose this resort. Employees work hard - some are very friendly and helpful, others keep more to themselves but are happy to help if asked. The ocean water is divine - crystal clear and abundant with life and an ecosystem that you can explore for hours! The hotel grounds are well kept, the pools are lovely, there is fresh cold drinking water available at many sites on the resort. The lobby is comfortable. CONS: Food - there is so much waste because of taste and quality especially in the only a la carte restaurant. They try too hard to impress with appearance, while the flavor and quality is awful. We tried so hard to like it. They Serve a spaghetti with a liquid tomato juice they call a sauce, and serve it to hotel guests! Stick to what you know - Mexican food made well, made with local ingredients using traditional recipes! Why try to serve a pasta carbonara when they clearly don't have a clue what that even is - and every dish that uses cream - and there are many, has this artificial sickening flavor about it, what a shame! If they could just tweak and understand that guests deserve to eat decent food, everything else would be great. ROOMS: dated but clean. They have many rooms with very old and dirty fold-up couches. Replace the couches that belong in the garbage, not in guest's rooms, it isn't a big deal, but will show respect to your guests. AIR CONDITIONING: very controlled and never gets cold. Hotel can lower the temperature by at least two degrees and provide much comfort. BUFFET: Repetitive and low-quality food. If you make it repetitive, at least stick with quality and local specialties so that the guests can enjoy some authentic Mexicans cuisine. BIRDS: This is a problem. Allowing vultures to enter your buffet restaurants to eat and defecate where they want is not acceptable! At night, so many mosquitos - we could not eat there. Find a way to enclose the buffet resto. add air conditioning, eliminate the BIRDS and MOSQUITOS and your guests will be in heaven. END note: this hotel capitalizes on their location which is ideal, but they could so easily tweak a few details and improve guest experience by 100%.
