The Vale Hotel

This was just a night away but we could not have been more impressed by the service here. Checkin is a 5pm so we spent the day exploring the area, and parked in the free car park just around the corner. Our room was large and airy with stacks of storage space and we both loved the shower. It was surprisingly quiet too despite the hotel being on the high street. The bar featured an amazing range of gins and Mark took us behind the bar to smell some of the options. As a result I chose a fruit gin I would not have selected otherwise which we enjoyed on the roof top terrace as the sun went down, while we studied the food menu with a lot of imaginative options (which made choosing a pleasant challenge). My wife had a goat curry while I had the slow cooked pork belly with root vegetables with African style mash. Both were delicious washed down with a lovely bottle of sauvignon blanc! We shared an equally lovely desert of Date and almond filo rools in an orange sauce. Service was 6 stars all the way from Mark and the team which made the whole experience memorable. Although the hotel doesn't offer breakfast there are plenty of places in the High Street just yards away so not a problem. Not difficult to see why they were a Four in a Bed Winner and I can certainly highly recommend staying and eating here and we would certainly do it again! Oh, a very reasonable prices too. What's not to like!!

The Vale Hotel is being renovated and will be a great place to stay once it is updated. The owner is working hard to bring this property up to a high standard and we look forward to seeing the results.

The hotel was just perfect. The landlord mark was very welcoming. The room was extremely comfortable, quiet, clean and had all the necessary facilities. The food especially the curry and chapati I highly recommend. Also being on my own the locals were friendly which with all of the above made my stay very relaxed thank you

Lovely place, great host

Very nice place, amazing experience. Highly recommended Mark, the Owner, was very Friendly and kind. The room is very clean and comfortable. It was the first time there but the our experience has been very very positive and pleasant We will back absolutely.

Nice hotel, Mark was a great host and the food in the restaurant was tasty, fresh and really good. I would recommend eating in the restaurant even if you are not staying. We had room 4 which had a comfortable bed and really good furniture which was nice. A shower in the room which was fine. All in all, we will stay here again when we visit the area again.

This is a lovely quirky hotel set in the centre of Cricklade. There were six of us meeting up and all of the rooms were spotlessly clean with everything you needed from coffee and tea to hairdryer and extra towels! Some rooms were small, but that was not a problem and was reflected in the cost compared to generous sized doubles. Mark greeted us and showed us to our rooms - he was very friendly and helpful. The Thai restaurant at the back of the hotel is wonderful as are the lovely pubs along the High Street. Would definitely recommend the Vale Hotel and hope to return. Thank you Mark!

We recently spent our honeymoon at this wonderful hotel and couldn't have been happier with our choice. The African-inspired cuisine was amazing, with rich and diverse flavors that delighted us at every meal. The hospitality was exceptional, with the owner being particularly friendly and attentive, making us feel truly welcome. Overall, this hotel provided a memorable and lovely stay, and we highly recommend it for anyone seeking a romantic and relaxing getaway.
