Crover House Hotel & Golf Club

I had visited the Crover many years back and was impressed by its location on the shores of Lough Sheelin. On that occasion back in 2019 while the location was Lovely the food and service left a lot to be desired. No such complaints this time round. The Crover has given itself a serious kick up the behind. The food and service has jumped to a whole new level. Breakfast was outstanding and thanks to the care of our breakfast host Vanessa we settled into the pure bliss that was the breakfast menu and food that followed. Things just got better from there . The bar and lobby were Lovely and outdoor seating over looking the lake was something that won't be forgotten. Rooms were huge and we'll appointed and we shall certainly return to the Crover in the very near future. A place that won't disappoint...Top marks

This was our fourth time back to Crover house and have to say never we're never disappointed, the staff are excellent from reception to bar and restaurant staff, one lovely girl in housekeeping sorry I didn't catch her name,in short, rooms lovely ,food excellent this hotel is a little gem we will be back again.

Excellent Hotel.

The staff are extremely helpful and will do their best to accommodate your needs. The food is delicious with a great vegan/vegetarian menu,also chips are cooked in separate fryer to meat products, great for vegetarians and gluten intolerant. I love when it's a buffet breakfast as instead of asking for 4 eggs and lots of toast,no sausage rasher black white pudding I can just get it myself, would always prefer a buffet breakfast😋😋

Lovely location super staff

This place was lovely. The scenery alone was perfect. Our dates don't let me go back but we went in June of 2022. The weather was lovely and if I had of known we could have brought our fur baby. I find this a great idea with pet places in hotels. It was nice to see some fur babies having fun. Rooms were lovely and comfortable and clean. Would recommend here.

Very average stay. I hadn't realized the hotel was in such a remote area. Staff weren't very professional but otherwise friendly enough. Would have been nice to have some area in the bar to have a nice quiet relaxing tea/coffee /drink but instead it catered for dining only which gets rather busy and noisy at night and there's nowhere else to dine. The same basic menu for lunch and dinner. Bedroom I was allocated was very small and and bed very uncomfortable, bathroom likewise and there's is nowhere to put your things such as toilet and makeup bags etc. Overall average stay and room for improvement. On the plus side receptionist and doorman very nice and friendly an asset to the establishment. Beautiful, quiet country surroundings if that's what your looking for.

Went for Lunch on Easter Sunday. Table not ready, no problem until we discovered a large noisy crowd in the bar with music blaring - not good for a family hotel and elderly relatives. Food was very average, roast of the day was dry, vegetables did not arrive until 1/2 way through meal - we were forgotten about. When paying for the bill and about to leave told we expected the table back- no need to say this as we were leaving anyway - overall poor food and poor service. Most disappointing visit after multiple visits over many years

Dear Crover house, I recently attended a family wedding in crover house, it was absolutely fantastic from the meal to the staff to the setting, everything was perfect, Until we arrived at the cabin. We knew from we went in the door this was unacceptable. Unfortunately at that time there were no other rooms available. I have never been more dissatisfied. The cabin itself was filthy covered in dust and cobwebs. The wardrobes in downstairs bedroom were full of stuff ie sheets and boxes and around the mirror and draw was disgusting- acceptable maybe only in a young girls room in a home but not a hotel. The drawers in the kitchen were absolutely filthy as well. There are gaps between the glass and frames on some of the windows so the draft coming in would cut through you. There was one tiny horrible bathroom that had to serve however many stayed - which on our occasion was 4 couples. I have owned and ran a BnB for 3 years and nothing about that cabin was acceptable. It may suit a group of men for golfing but certainly not ladies for a wedding - trying to walk down that path at the end of the evening- not even a golf buggy etc to drop people down. It may be barely passable in the couple of summer months ie July/ August/sept but not at any other time. You either need to tear it down or put money into it to bring it up to date. This is the review I will put on any website I can because I don’t want other people to get the shock and disappointment we got after paying for it at reception only to land down and realize the dump we were stuck in.
