This is a beautiful hotel and spa to visit for a special treat. The grounds, gardens and the house itself are beautiful. The view from our room was lovely and the restaurant, with glass doors to the garden, was a gorgeous setting to eat. Pros: Staff were very friendly and attentive, stunning surroundings, comfy beds, large bathroom, and the spa was immaculately clean, quiet, and a gorgeous setting to relax in. We were brought a glass of bubbly on arrival and send a little extra dessert as we were celebrating a birthday. Lovely little touches - can't fault the customer service. Cons: The food was rather average, I expected it to have the wow-factor so was a bit disappointed. Dinner was rather bland, sweetcorn appeared to be tinned. Breakfast bacon was so tough you couldn't get a fork into it. My eggs and beans were cold (the sausage was hot, though!). Would definitely visit to spend a day at the spa again, but probably not stay overnight, as the food was a bit of a let down.

We celebrated our anniversary at Ockenden Manor and had a fantastic time. We were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming member of staff called Nicola who made sure we were well looked after during our stay. Thank you Nicola! The spa was heaven and so was our gorgeous spa suite. We were lucky enough with the weather to have our delicious breakfast outside on the courtyard overlooking the beautiful gardens. I would highly recommend this hotel for a special celebration. You will be sure to feel very relaxed by the time you leave.

We stayed here for our 2nd wedding anniversary and was blown away ! What a little gem ! This beautiful building was tucked away with plenty of parking and from arrival to leaving if was a faultless stay, the receptionist was friendly and welcoming we had a stunning room overlooking the beautiful grounds and they brought us a complimentary glass of fizz for our anniversary. The bed was huge and very comfy and room was super clean. We spent the afternoon in the spa which was amazing and enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pool and jacuzzi’s, the treatments were some of the very best we have had and changing facilities are superb. We had three course dinner and can honestly say both me and my wife ate every single bite of all three course it’s was that good. Service was impeccable, lovely wine and again going the extra mile by bringing out a chocolate plate with happy anniversary written on. Had a great nights sleep and breakfast was also great and we loved the traditional tea set. We are itching to come back and I’m sure it won’t be long til we do ! Thank you to everyone that helped me make our anniversary amazing for my wife.

Went for a spa and dinner package that was a birthday present from my son. Loved the spa and especially the indoor and outdoor hot tubs where we enjoyed a glass of fizz. Staff in the spa were very friendly and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was amazing and the service was very good. Hotel had lots of character and the gardens were beautiful. Highly recommended!

Charming! Loved my room in the main inn up 3 narrow flights of stairs. Huge, with wooden beams, a fireplace and separate bath. Lovely window opened to a beautiful view of the lawn below. My bed was heavenly. Very kind staff checked me in early because I was jet lagged and exhausted. I am not a spa lover (which is apparently an appeal of the place) but would return here any time. There are also several very good restaurants in the adjoining village.

We had an overnight spa stay at Ockenden and had a lovely time! The service is excellent, Lauren, Russell, and the Spa team accommodated every request and made our stay really special. The room was nice and clean. The spa not too busy. The restaurant was a little slow, but the food was good quality and really tasty.

We had a wonderful one night stay at Ockendon Manor with two young children (eight years old and five years old). Breakfast was great, spa facilities fabulous including family swim times. Room was exceptionally comfortable with coffee machine etc. Highly recommend

Really nice spot in the centre of the lovely little village of Cuckfield, the staff were really friendly and accommodating and the room we stayed in had a lot of nice character. The meal was really excellent and we were cared for to the nth degree. The spa facilities were pretty standard but everything you'd expect was there including a coffee machine to make a whole array of nice coffee drinks.

Love the building, setting and have had some amazing lunches and dinners. Last weeks visit was just awful. Lunch. Dull menu, sweetcorn soup, burgers…?? What’s happened, was always special. We skipped starters and had fish. One overcook, under seasoned, plaice fillet, dry. Mins was rediculous..! I asked for the haddock. Requested mixed veg, peas, asparagus and green beans. Did it come with potatoes..? Online menu said mash, restaurant menu, didn’t mention. So ordered some mash. What came was luke warm food. It was a small amount of flaked haddock, mixed in with mash, like dull tasteless baby food. Got just 4 spears or asparagus..?? Asked for dry rose, we got sweet. Girls were nice but not a clue re menu, wines or service. Cold coffee. Not good coffee, but a nice big bill. Was a special treat and to be honest ruined. We were both shocked. What’s gone wrong, with the menu and chefs…? I had emailed but no reply as yet.
