Hotel Riu Touareg - All Inclusive

If I could do 0 stars I would most definitely we have had one of the worst stays, food is cold they most definitely need to check the temperature on food even with the heat lamps on as this can cause sickness and then what has just happened tonight is the last straw, basically we came back from our tea at 9pm and we noticed that in the bathroom where the air conditioning placement is was leaking and starting peeling the paint off from the top of the roof, we rang reception and they brought out a technician to fix the issue he emptied a large amount of water but even after he had gone and a cleaner came in to clean the mess from the floor it was still leaking so we then rang the reception once again baring in mind that they said they would call us back to see if the problem had been sorted which it hadn’t they offered us another room the number for that room is 3210 the room was in an absolutely appalling condition and honestly disgraceful to say that they are meant to be cleaned and secure isn’t even close to what we had seen in that room from blood on the toilet and floor to there being multiple bugs everywhere the sofa that had been split and not fixed to the air conditioning unit being very loud and the fan to the point we wouldn’t have even been able to sleep in that room and the smell was horrendous like an old sweaty gym room mixed with cigarette smell as there was an ash tray in the room and it had appeared to have been smoked in and the fact that the fuse box was open when we went into the room in my opinion is very unsafe as well as the door being able to open from outside without the key and the safe for your personal belongings was in overall poor condition so my partner went back to the reception and got the key back for the leaky room where we felt more safe and clean even with the fact that the room is leaking

My wife and I stayed at the Riu Touareg from 4th November for a week. The weather was perfect — around 30°C every day, with evenings still warm (not humid). Before arriving, we were worried after reading reviews about food poisoning, bed bugs, and substandard conditions. We needn’t have worried. The hotel is dated and clearly in need of a refurb, but I believe the price reflects this. It may have been a 5-star in its day, but even now it offers good value. If you fancy yourself as critic, looking for faults, you’ll find plenty to go after — but why bother? Our room was clean and tidy, the food offered great variety, and the jewel in the crown is both the beach and the staff. The entertainment was interesting, sometimes quirky, but the staff were clearly enjoying themselves, which made it great to see. The sea is too rough to swim in, has red flags and lifeguards. The main courtyard is huge and easily caters for the masses of guests. Most of the pools are salt water too. The hotel itself is about half an hour by coach from the airport. We also enjoyed the neon party at the sister hotel, which was brilliant. The place is huge, low, flat, and sprawling — we averaged over 8,000 steps a day just moving between the pool, beach, and restaurants! If you’re expecting 5-star luxury or belong in the Ritz, this isn’t for you. But if you want sun, relaxation, and friendly service, it’s perfect. During our stay I completed my PADI diving qualification, we had massages, and even went on a stargazing tour. We loved the hotel and the people — it was exactly what we were looking for.
