Karen made my trip. I was a little disappointed with my stay overall as it felt run down and understaffed, but I had my facial with Karen and she was amazing, she gave me a facial which left me feeling me feeling relaxed and truly cared for. Thank you Karen.

Arrived at 9am for a full day spa as a birthday treat for my daughter. We got our welcome bags and went to changing rooms. No towels!! Great start. Went to the hydro pool area which was pleasant to start with then it got very crowded and nowhere to sit back and relax together. Extremely poor signage and too many corridors to mention so easy to get lost. Communal toilets were absolutely shocking, damp walls with peeling paint above sink (photo), extremely dusty lampshade on corridor walls (photo) which are at a height to be cleaned easily. Dirty mirrors (photo). Spa glass absolutely filthy (photo) so makes me think how really clean is this place? Restaurant food was mediocre, not very hot food and raw potatoes. The glass bottle that our still water came in was so dirty with scale that we left it. The only nice thing was the roasted red pepper soup. After lunch went to the water relaxation area, and was able to get three water loungers but it was like laying down in a large cupboard. No lights except fire exit light and it was as cold as being outside. I thought spas were meant to be warm and inviting but Tring was completely the opposite. The corridors and spa areas were so cold you had to submerge yourself in the pools to keep warm. We then had had enough so we went to get changed before having a warm drink before we leave. I couldn’t even have a shower as the corridors outside of the shower doors was so flooded that my flip flops were submerged and it was so dirty and unpleasant with used towels and dressing gowns just dumped on sides and floor as there was nowhere else to put them as bins were full. The list can go on but will say I won’t be repeating a visit nor recommending this spa to anyone.

It was shocking! The spa receptionist was so unhelpful and unfriendly. The place is so crowded with wet towels everywhere. The lunch was possibly the worst food I have ever eaten in my life. No one spoke to us in the restaurant and we weren't told about the buffet or offered any drinks. We had flies in the lamps above us at our table! The whole experience is just so awful. It probably explains why it was the only place that had last minute availability. Such a shame as the location, the venue and the grounds have such potential.

Some lovely staff at champneys who made our experience ten times better. Massive thank you to Natalie in the restaurant who greeted us at dinner and helped us out with our confusing allergies. Also thank you to Lil in the morning who was able to help out again with the allergies and show me where to go afterwards when I got confused.

Me and my friend came to Champneys Tring on Xmas eve for 2 nights the building itself was beautiful but the room was disappointing there was dust all over the room the furniture was old and not maintained the coffee machine was full of dust and still had water in it from the last customer when ever that was. The bathroom taps had limescale all over it. The Basin vanity unit was rotten base this was supposed to be a superior room and it was far from a superior room. But worst of all I got food poisoning after eating turkey pie which would have been made with leftover turkey the food was always cold.. I’m not happy as this is my first experience of a spa and we paid over £1000. I have no photos as I took videos I will not come again.

Too full of business people on work events during the month of October 2024 when we visited The WHOLE of the lounge areas had been cordoned off for work related corporate events during the days we visited Left us with no quiet areas to sit a read and relax We were expected to go and sit in the coffee shop apparently...but that was full of people on laptops and making phone calls ! Who are these people ..they definitely aren't on a spa break ! Also the seats were wet from people coming in to coffee shop from spa in wet gowns We don't want to be sitting in the reception where it's busy chilly and noisy or fighting for a lounger around the indoor spa pool ..which in fact is always crammed anyway Sadly this spoilt our hoped for and much needed relaxing break Taking away lounge areas for corporate events seems unfair to spa guests I understand the need to bring in revenue. But at this rate spa guests won't return if they are feeling turfed out of main lounges My main moan is not coming home feeling better than when I arrived ! We went to relax and rest..it proved difficult Think about your spa guests please !!

Just so disappointing for the price. Over £1000 for 2 nights- the most I’ve ever spent on a weekend away and not even a warm shower for the duration of our stay! The shower in the room didn’t get warm (tepid at best but then freezing) and we were told by reception to just leave it running longer to warm up as it’s a big hotel and takes a while for the water to get around the pipes???? 15 minutes of running it later it had got colder if anything. Thought I’d shower in the changing rooms instead but they were the same and then I discovered there were no towels left either. I was beginning to get more than a little impatient at this point. Used the spa which was nice but there were no seats or loungers left and the steam room was out of action so it was not particularly relaxing. We mentioned all of this to reception on the second night of having no hot water and were told someone would look at it. Nobody did. I also mentioned our room had not been cleaned and that we were out of drinking water and toiletries. We were told that they have 200 rooms so they don’t always have time to clean them all?!!!! Seriously?? We were sent a bottle of water to the room but I was just staggered by the response. Not even an apology. Dinner was nice, lunch and breakfast were just ok. It was hard to get attention of staff and basic items like eggs and mushrooms we’re often running out at breakfast. We mentioned the water again on departure and they could not have cared less. More or less shrugged it off but simply re stating they had called maintenance to have a look- not a massive help when you are checking out! They then proceeded to tell us there were gratuities added to the bill- I was pretty upset by this point to say the least and this really didn’t help. This just isn’t acceptable even for a basic hotel let along one costing so much. Left feeling ripped off and not valued as a customer. Would not return

A really lovely visit. Everything was exceptional the room, facilities, food and service. The calm atmosphere of the whole resort makes this a place to really unwind. One thing I would like to see change is that this time there were many guests(?) working on their computers/tablets and carrying out business conversations ( on occasion) very loudly in public places, cafe, and quet rooms. I think that Champneys should have a work area away from these areas. There are exceptional staff and I would like to thank Agness on Reception she is excellent and I look forward to having her attention. Lou in the cafe, she is a star and it often gets busy and is unflappable even when she is on her own dealing with lots of guests. My therapist Zueanna thank you for a really lovely facial. Stephanie and Edon ( restaurant) Exceptional service, Michelin star quality. Thank you to you all.
