Property Description

BoXin·Mystery Secret Garden Boutique Inn Nestled at the foot of the Cangshan Mountains along the Ancient Tea Horse Road, our inn boasts an unbeatable location close to Yuyu Road, the No.60 Hospital and the terminal stop of Bus Route 8, offering extremely convenient public transport access. Crafted with meticulous artistry, this exquisite courtyard follows the traditional Bai ethnic architectural style, elegantly blending indigenous Bai culture with modern comfort, fully embodying the unique humanistic charm of Dali. Blessed with a one-of-a-kind setting, the property is fronted by gurgling mountain streams from Cangshan, bordered by ancient city walls dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties, and enveloped in a garden frequented by egrets. Blossoms thrive all year round within the courtyard. The guest rooms and grounds feature sweeping vistas: gaze east to behold the vast glistening waters of Erhai Lake, and turn west to take in the layered vistas of the Cangshan Mountains. Accompanied by birdsong day and night, all the iconic landscapes of Dali unfold before your eyes. The courtyard comprises two distinctive scenic zones: a front vestibule and a rear garden. The vestibule houses an intricately three-layer carved wooden gate preserved from a 400-year-old historic residence, alongside curated collections of celebrated calligraphy and paintings, handcrafted Bai black pottery, wood carvings and stone sculptures, creating a rich immersive cultural ambiance. Step into the rear garden, where murmuring brooks harmonize with warbling birds. Sink into hanging lounge chairs to unwind amid the inviting aroma of our signature home-style cuisine. The grounds feature a private art studio, ornamental fish ponds and a flower greenhouse. Lush green vines twist along weathered old walls, casting dappled tranquil shadows. Secluded from the hustle and bustle of downtown, it is an idyllic retreat for unhurried peaceful moments. At BoXin·Mystery Secret Garden Boutique Inn, immerse yourself in authentic local Dali life and embrace a laid-back, heartwarming stay that feels just like home.

The courtyard is quiet and peaceful, and parking is convenient.

The room was spacious, perfect for our family of three. The guesthouse's location was also very convenient; taxis could drop us right at the entrance, and parking was easy. It was only a 5-minute walk to the North Gate of the ancient city. I really loved the guesthouse's courtyard – the front yard was exquisite, and the back yard was expansive with a sunny room perfect for drying clothes. Definitely recommend!

Would recommend a stay here for anyone who is looking for a more peaceful stay in Dali with easy access to the road. Positives: - Large, spacious room - Easy access to road, vehicle and ebike rental shops nearby - Close to ancient town, but just outside the limits - Room amenites are nice (good bath, good tv, good variety of toiletries available) - Common areas are relaxing and beautiful - Staff are kind and helpful - Laundry washing machine is effective Negatives: - Occaisional bugs (mainly small spiders) - As of July 2024, the section of the ancient town that this hotel is nearest to is undergoing major construction and so the excitement of that area (mainly Chinese street food) is greatly diminished - TV has several technical issues, is not easy to navigate through the menus, is not easy to control (error messages keep popping up!) - The room's patio space is shared with another guest room - Water pressure and temperature are inconsistent and hard to control
