Cannot fault Villa Dolunay, friendly welcoming management and staff, just far enough from the centre of town to be quiet and peaceful, but 10 minutes walk to the shops, restaurants, bars and boats, with a few just 5 minutes away. Rooms offer all you need, not 5 star but clean and comfortable. Turkish buffet breakfast is great, with variations each morning, British fry-up also available if required. Nice clean pool with bar open all day. We will definitely use this hotel again.

Just returned from another fantastic stay at Villa Dolunay. We are two families that travel several times a year, but our stay here is an opportunity to meet up, relax and enjoy each-others company. Lots of eating, drinking and fun. The owners and their families are extremely welcoming, friendly and sociable, it’s a real pleasure to spend time with them. The hotel is beautiful, always clean and tidy with several upgrades from last year. The food and drink is delicious, plentiful and more importantly always served with a smile. We absolutely love this place. We’ve had two visits here, during which our party have occupied 3 “loft” rooms, all have been spacious, airy and had standard ceiling height. We’ve also had second and first floor rooms which are also perfect, we don’t use any self catering facilities so can’t comment on those. This year fellow guests were all sociable and chatty which made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel is surrounded by lots of lovely places to eat and drink of an evening, with beautiful views and fantastic atmosphere. What more could you ask for! Can’t wait to return.

We stayed for 10 days at these apartments and our experience was overall a good one but not perfect. The biggest issue is the beds. They are incredibly uncomfortable and I spoke to the owner reference this. They are very hard low quality mattresses and a sheet that's like sandpaper. I'd suggest anyone takes a cotton sheet with them and ask at reception for extra pillows. Our room was basic but adequate other than this (room 203 first floor) The staff are all pleasant enough and the bar / food is adequate. Prices are not too dissimilar to the uk for food. Example (from the bar) a chicken wrap is around £6.25 with chips. A latte is 100 Turkish lira (£2.25) and English breakfast (not great) around £7.50 The pool is fantastic and i never experienced any trouble getting a sunbed. In fact i was often the first person down (around 8am) and had the same sunbeds for our entire visit. August is particularly hot so expect it to hit 40degrees. Around 6-7 min walk away is a supermarket which is very competitively priced and worthwhile stocking up on basic supplies so you can have drinks in your room and save money. You'll buy waters and fizzy drinks there for 1/3rd of the prices in the bar. A walk into the town is 10-15 mins but don't expect much night life. It's all restaurants and shops selling fake merchandise. Some are good quality but others aren't so great so definitely shop around because they all sell virtually the same things. If you vape take plenty of supplies because they are banned from being sold in Dalaman and you won't get them. Cigarettes themselves buy out there. They are £1.80 a pack on average but you won't get the most common brands like in the uk. Mayfair they do have though. The Indian restaurant in the main ***** is excellent although expect to pay around £25-30 per head. Nothing happens anywhere after 12 midnight but we found the days long because of the heat so the slow pace of Dalaman suited us. It's not the place for a lads / girls holiday. It's a couples and chilled out holiday vibe and it's perfect for that. Important to remember what you pay. The pricing of the holiday is very good and it's worth every penny. Just wish they'd sort out more comfortable beds!

We have just returned from another amazing stay at these wonderful apartments. We travel as two families with children ranging from 8-18 and we all have the best time. These family run apartments are perfect for us, although our ground floor room this year was fairly small compared to floor one rooms we have had in previous years, but we only use the room to shower and sleep so it was no issue, we don’t use the self catering facilities in the room as most of us in our party have breakfast and lunch at the bar each day but they provide everything needed. The food is absolutely amazing and not one bad meal between the 11 of us was had over our two week stay. The family that run the hotel are so welcoming, friendly and can’t do enough for us and have become very good friends of ours. The pool and surrounding areas have had some lovely additions this year and is always kept clean and tidy at all times. It is just a gentle 10 minute stroll into town where there are endless bars and restaurants to choose from, we had some nice quiet evenings and some great fun late nights at Ozzies bar with Karaoke and Dancing. Theres something for everyone.

Great family run hotel, staff were great with my 2 kids and cannot do enough for you. Room was basic but had everything we needed, Aircon was £6 per day and is must in 45 degree weather. Pool area and surrounding greenery are lovely, pool bar and restaurant was great, portions really big but i did find it abit pricey compared to most places in town (£4 for a beer??) 10 min walk into town and there is a small shop 2 min around the corner I am already thinking about booking for next year which says it all really

This was our first trip to Turkey so we were a bit unsure what to expect. I had emailed ahead to request a ground floor room which they couldn't guarantee. We were given room 203 on first floor. It was modern and spotless. The sofa bed was really uncomfortable as so firm but otherwise apartment was all we needed. Balcony is small but you can squeeze 4 people on it. I like that on other side of your room you had another outdoor area with a washline for clothes. Pros: really nice family team running the complex, warm clean pool, very clean pool area, comfy sunbeds and always beds available. Small complex so not too busy. 5 minute walk to supermarket and 10mins to start of restaurants and town. Aircon. We were able to keep a room for departure day but this seems dependent on availability. Nice pool bar. No loud music. Inflatables and balls allowed. Felt very safe there. Beautiful flowers in the grounds. Cons: cash only for everything which we didn't know until we arrived but you can set up a bar tab until you get cash. We were given a top floor room for departure day which had a great layout but was too hot even with aircon as only one unit at one end of the apartment so I'm glad we weren't in there for the week. Would definitely stay here again and was a fabulous introduction to Turkey.

We've just returned from a week's stay at the Doulnay. This was our first time in Turkey, and we couldn't have been more impressed with both Dalyan and the Doulnay. Service: Upon arrival, we were shown to our room without any issues. The service was brilliant all week, including the cleaning of our apartment and in the bar area around the pool. Facilities: The pool area was lovely, very clean, and had an abundance of sun beds. We've never felt so relaxed, and a pool day or two is a must if visiting. Apartment: We stayed in apartment 104, and the apartment had everything we needed, a small kitchenette, a living area with TV , a bedroom, and a refurbished bathroom. This apartment also had a double balcony heading straight onto the pool. Overall, it was very clean and comfortable. Yes, some of the furniture and decor is dated, but for what we paid we couldn't complain at all. This most certainly should be rated 3 star by Tui and not the 2 star it currently is. Air con is payable but was brilliant and definitely needed as it was in the 40s whilst we were there. Verdict: Please don't be put off by any negative reviews, but bear in mind this isn't a 4*or 5*hotel. These are 3* apartments at a very competitive price, and after all, you pay for what you get. If you're looking for a price competitive, small, family run complex with 23 apartments, loads of sunbeds, and a friendly atmosphere, then don't hesitate to book. On the other hand, if you're looking for a more luxurious all inclusive break with entertainment, loads of staff and modern decor, then the Doulnay probably isn't for you and I'd probably say Dalyan isn't either. Dalayan is a fantastic town with plenty to offer .... restaurants, bars, shopping, site seeing, tours, and even a river taxi to the beach ... so please don't spend your holiday inside your hotel. Get out and explore this lovely area of Turkey.
