Hotels near St. Wendelin, Dammbach

The hotel is good for the transit. It is just along the highway and there is a restaurant and shop where you get 25% discount with hotel passport. Rooms were clean, beds were fine, bathroom modern. However, communication with staff can be better and friendly. We were in a miscommunication about check-out time, we asked the day of arrival how late we had to check-out, and the receptionist said it doesn't matter when we want to leave. We were a little surprised, but we thought it might be because many travelers arrived just at the end of the day and it was quiet. The next morning at 09.45 our room was opened unannounced by the cleaner with the announcement that we should check out for 10.00 hour. Then asked at reception where it was said that we should check out for 12.00 hour. Unclear thing!

This hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to the old part of town so lots of cafes, restaurants and shops around, also the beautiful church, the Palace and the park. All areas of the hotel I saw were spotlessly clean. My room was very spacious, and the bed was firm but comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped and I really liked that it had a bathtub. The decor itself in the hotel looks to be from the 90's and there is no sign of any updates having been made - so it's somewhat outdated but for me the cleanliness is much more important than stainless steel and stone everywhere. The breakfast was really yummy and the chef makes awesome scrambled eggs. One problem I had was the English (I don't speak German) channels on the TV were not working for the entire 5 nights I was there - luckily I could get onto my Netflix on my laptop! The staff were very friendly and apologetic about the tv, but I've only rated it average for service due to being told the TV had been out of order for the entire week before and they had not actively had it fixed.

A nostalgic hotel in the style of 60/70 years. Within the center. The associated parking space is located between two streets in the courtyard. I just find it great :))) and hope the hotel manager knows what she has for a treasure and also appreciates it. And I hope there is nothing to modernize! Modern we have enough, but this here, That has style ... I would like to thank the former owner for so much effort to put something like this on his feet, but unfortunately she doesn't live anymore. It's nice that there are people with so much sympathy and respect for the past. I would like to thank you at this point at the kitchen fee, which has enchanted us every morning a fantastic breakfast, including a small, Italian. Also the coffee was perfect. If again Aschaffenburg, then just here! :)

Very nice hotel: clean, reasonably spacious room with a good bathroom. Handy location near the train station and at the same time fairly close to the center. The green tones are present throughout the hotel, both in the room and downstairs in the lobby (which is partly the breakfast room). This is typical of Ibis Styles, which exudes just that little bit more individuality compared to the other Ibis hotels. It was very nice to sit in the lobby in the evening and have a free cup of tea: this increased the already pleasant relaxed atmosphere that we experienced in the hotel. The air conditioning was nice to have in the room, but had a minimum temperature of about 25/26 degrees so it just didn't cool down enough in the room. Attempts to change this by pressing buttons failed, as we would be 'not authorized' to operate the buttons. Was this perhaps a policy to limit energy consumption in view of global warming and high energy prices? (probably a defect that can be solved by the technical service) The service was fantastic, especially at the check-in on August 18 (very friendly lady). The breakfast is not exceptionally extensive, but good enough. All in all a nice experience, and we will definitely come back if we have to be in northern bavaria for whatever reason.

The hotel is centrally located, within walking distance of the major sights, the town centre and the main train station. The room was small but cosy. The bed was comfortable. There was a well-stocked fridge in the room but I missed not being able to make a cup of coffee in my room. Wi-fi was included for three devices, the signal was strong and the speed high. I phoned reception for an extra pillow and housekeeping was quite quick to bring it up to my room. Most of the staff I interacted with were helpful but some didn't understand much English, making communication a little challenging. The breakfast was OK but not worth the €9 I was charged and somewhat underwhelming given the restaurant's high rating (Restaurant Oechsle). I specifically asked for a quiet room in my booking request but got a room right above the kitchen where I could hear the Schnitzel being prepared for the restaurant every so often while the kitchen was open (which sounds like someone hitting a nail into the wall). Noise from other guests in the rather narrow corridors was also very audible as was other doors closing. Not recommended for light sleepers. I also specifically asked for assistance with my luggage in my booking but this was not offered when checking in. Since there is no elevator and many stairs - in my case both up and down - to get to my room, this would have been very helpful. I later saw a small sign with very tiny writing - in Germany only - at reception to ask for assistance with luggage and the staff promptly helped me with my luggage when checking out. It was fine for a two-day stay but I will most likely try another hotel when visiting Aschaffenburg in future.

We have been at this Restaurant a couple of times over the last years. It was good and is a family owened place. Actually, we were very positively surprised the last visit. It has been upgraded dramatically. The interior has been lovely refurbished and decorated. The exterior has been nicely improved as well. And of course, the most important, the food is outstanding still. Very good quality and freshness, very well presented and very tasteful. The menu shows a good variaty of german dishes and some local specialities. The wine menu is not too big, but offers a good selection of german and international wines. We spend another outstanding dinner recently and will come back for sure. If you are in mood for a quiet place to enjoy food, nature and german hospitality, this is the place to go.

We booked 5 nights just because the pictures of the Lodge were so talked about and we just wanted to roll along the main - even if it has only two directions. It was just great, because there are very beautiful places nearby and we have been driving a bit further every day. The Lodge is simply genial. We were warmly received. The rooms are super clean and tasteful and modern furnished. The beds are cozy. In the courtyard you can relax after the excursion and allow another drink. All in all a super concept and much to hurt for only one night on the journey. You can eat on request also in the lodging. The cook Sebastian and his nice helpers in the kitchen have made us a great breakfast (with yourself cooked breads!) and the evening with 3-Gange menus. Great food and all goanz very nice! The owner family also had a great effort to ensure our well-being and could give us some tips for our trips. We enjoyed the stay very much!!
