A wonderful plantation house to visit (privately owned and filled with stories) and a great inn to stay in as well. A tip - make sure to make dinner reservations when you book as there are two restaurants on site and they get booked up. One is fine dining in the old French part of the house and the other is in a beautiful room called the Carriage House.

We booked a one bedroom with a porch for our one night stay. The room was beautifully appointed, the mattress very comfortable. I would have given 5 star if there had been a few pillow options. When we arrived we were taken to our room by a cart along with our luggage. The lovely young man then brought us a bucket of ice. These extra things mean a lot at the end of a busy day. We loved sitting on the porch overlooking the lovely garden area, nice and private. Included in your booking You are able to wander the amazing gardens of Houmas House. Breakfast is also included. It is buffet style and sufficient to start the day

Nous avons passé une nuit L’accueil très sympathique , les jardins merveilleux ainsi que la maison. Nous avons dîné au carriage restaurant, c’était parfait! La chambre ( genre de petit chalet) était magnifique mais malheureusement les alentours bruyants car une route passante borde les petits chalets. Dommage!

I LOVE HOUMAS house it’s so beautiful & breathtaking the staff & tourist are so FRIENDLY !!!! Plus the Food is DELICIOUS, free Breakfast was awesome the BEST !!! Then the carriage house was & always is DELICIOUS & FANCY !!! The Boutique or Gift Shop has the MOST UNIQUE & amazing gifts plus the WAX MUSEUM is INCREDIBLE & VERY INTERESTING the history is the most informative & enjoyable stuff to read about & also look at we loved OUR stay & we will DEFINITELY GO BACK & STAY again !!!

We loved spending the night in Houmas in a magical setting in the heart of the magnificent gardens lit up at night but also wonderful in the morning. We had dinner in a superb setting at the Carriage restaurant. A perfect stopover with the only downside being the proximity to the road.

Loved the room. The only problem is that our room was right next to the road. Traffic started at 5 am. It is their cheapest room but to much money for the noise so early in the morning.
