Residence Inn Halifax Dartmouth

Great hotel and location, although we had to request to change rooms due to old/musky smell. They accommodated but offered no apology or compensation for trouble. The included breakfast was absolutely awful. Poor selection and quality, restrictive hours, and for over 400 a night I expect much better.

Great stay. Quiet, nice pools, great breakfast. Only complaint was that the thermostat wouldnt go cold enough in the room and it was too warm at night.

The residence room our family stayed in for 2 nights was great. We had 1 king bed and a pull-out couch, but that was fine for the kids. Hotel staff were friendly and gave us extra pillows and bedding. Beds were comfy and room quiet. The room had a decent-sized kitchen which was a plus. The bathroom only had a stand-up shower but it was big. It did only have a half-wall of glass so not practical for little kids or much privacy. The breakfast was great and everyone loved the pool area. The pool doesn’t have showers or proper change rooms, so think ahead about what you need to bring with you from your room. There is a large lobby area with a bar and Starbucks (pay extra). Another bonus is the location: right next to Dartmouth Crossing shops and 15-18mins drive to downtown Halifax.

I just returned from Halifax on a business trip and had a very nice stay at the Residence Inn Dartmouth. The hotel was about a 20 minute drive from YHZ airport and I arrived late, but not a problem as I was able to check in via the Bonvoy app. I did stop at the desk though to get a physical key and the staff was quite nice. There wasnt any mention of my Platinum status so I am assuming I received the points to my account but need to check. The room was huge with a full kitchen and sitting room, but I was there for business so didnt spend much time in the room. There was no cleaning service though so perhaps it's not everyday? The free breakfast in the morning is very basic but again the employees were very friendly and it was all I needed before starting the day. The hotel is probably another 20-25 minutes to downtown Halifax and the waterfront area as you need to cross the bridge to get there. This location is also shared with a Courtyard which made it helpful for several of my colleagues to find room here as well. If you dont need to visit downtown often, Dartmouth is a good location.

The pool area was great. Pool, hot tub , and water slide. Front desk super friendly and helpful. They upgraded us to king suite for free and it was amazing. The bed was very comfortable and room was very clean. Breakfast staff did a great job.

Very clean. The room was amazing. Like a studiio apartment. The kids loved it. Swimmong was a big hit! Veru clean, lots of pool towels available. The water slide and hot tub are a hit. Breakast was amazing as well!
