Le Chao Ju Inn (Huayan Temple of Datong ancient city)

This hotel is located in the heart of the ancient city of Datong. Although there were few steps of staircase leading to the entrance of the hotel and the reception was on level 2 and our room type was only available on the 3rd level. Upon check in the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo was very helpful and she helped us to carry our luggages to our room at level 3.. There was a small window in our room overseeing the street. The room was spacious and very clean. All corners, fixtures and furnitures in our room were wiped very clean. All amenities were provided inside the room too. The bed mattress and pillow were soft and very comfortable. Body gel, hair shampoo, hair conditioner, hand wash and clothing detergent were all good quality. 2 water bottles, toothbrush, hair comb and slippers were provided in the room. There were space to hang our winter clothing and also washed socks and inner wears. The air-conditioner was superb as it can be adjusted to 4 types of air:normal, wet reduction, cold air and warm air, hence it made our stay more comfortable. There was also an air freshener machine in the room to refresh the air inside the room. So far this is the cleanest hotel room throughout all my China trips. The housekeeper was friendly and ensure the room being cleaned up daily. Overall, I would like to compliment the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo for her hospitality and kindness in helping us when we asked her for any information about Datong and places to eat. Xiao Guo always smilling and her warmness has let us felt very welcomed as a hotel guest. Another compliment was to be given to the housekeeper old lady who really did a great job to ensure the cleanliness of our hotel room and the entire hotel public areas. Highly recommended this hotel to all tourist.

very friendly and helpful staffs. they will ask for adding friend on Wechat which they could provide very useful tips during your stay in a hotel and travel advice around datong. you can ask for exchange small banknote for hopping on a local bus which is troublesome for foreigner that doesn't have chinese phone number to register for virtual bus card （易通卡）on alipay or wechat unlike in big city eg. Shanghai, Guangzhou that can use passport no. to register. It would be nice if they provide some bathmat to rub wet feet after using the bathroom. The hotel is located near the bell tower which is near Huayan temple and Dai wang mansion.

The location is amazing, in the heart of the Ancient Town. Also, the hotel itself, from the inside, is a beautiful building. Very cool for the immersion. I would recommend this hotel.

Nice stay in Datong old city. Room was clean and comfortable. Mattress was a bit slim, but everything else was perfect as advertised.

Clean accommodation. Xiao Wang at the front desk was really helpful and arranged a driver for the day to Yungang Grottoes and Hanging Temple, as well as advice on restaurants and general answering questions.

Excellent stay! So so clean! I just did not like some guest being really loud at night, but I went back to sleep super easy later.
