My top choice for a business trip to Datong is always the Yungang Hotel. The bedding is comfortable, clean, and tidy. The environment is grand, and the service is exceptionally thoughtful. I'll definitely be back next time.

Absolutely fantastic! Datong during the off-season is unbeatable. The hotel was excellent, and the breakfast was superb. Plus, the Fengxi Pavilion on the first floor has a wonderful ambiance, and the food is delicious with generous portions. This trip to Datong was truly enjoyable, and the hotel experience played a big part in that. Also, the housekeeping was great; our room was always spotless when we returned after a day out, and amenities were promptly replenished! I can't quite remember if it was 'Jinfeng' or 'Jinhua'.

Facilities: I'd say they were just average. At night, the room was full of creaking sounds, probably due to the underfloor heating or the walls expanding and contracting. But combined with the incredibly hot room temperature and uncomfortable bedding, it led to the worst sleep I've had in Shanxi, even though it was the most expensive hotel I stayed in. In the end, I only managed to fall asleep with the lights and TV on.
Cleanliness: Acceptable. One of the two taps produced cloudy water, but the other one was fine.
Service: Service was the only thing worth praising. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic, providing complimentary breakfast, and other staff members brought fruit.
Overall, I wouldn't highly recommend it.

Extremely clean! There's a bathtub and bath coupons were provided. I didn't get to use them due to a tight schedule. The breakfast area on the island loop is beautiful!
