Come to Yungang Grottoes to live, the price is super super super super high! ! !
First of all, the hotel is in the scenic area, parking is free, there are charging piles, and charging is cheap.
Secondly, the decoration of the lobby, courtyard and room can be seen that the boss is a person with a realm and style, pays great attention to environmental protection, the details are really very moving, smart toilets, top sprays, toiletries and so on are all OK.
Finally, although there are not many types of breakfast, mainly knife noodles, but it is really hungry, and there is no pressure to eat more than two o'clock in the afternoon.
In short, I will take my family and friends to Yungang to play in the future. This must be my must-choice hotel. I hope there will be rooms at that time.
Because I have a puppy, I must choose a ”pet-friendly” B&B.
I love this one with a small courtyard! You can let the puppy run in the yard🐶
It is very close to Yungang Grottoes. I came directly after seeing the Grottoes.
Because of the off-season, the price/performance ratio is really great!
The pillows in this B&B are the most comfortable I have ever slept on. I asked the owner directly to ask for the same pillow✔️
The equipment and facilities are also good.
The only thing is that the air quality here is very poor and the surrounding environment is average.

Wujinyuan Reception Center is located in Datong City, Shanxi Province, known as the "Coal Capital of China." Coal is referred to as "black gold," hence the name. This place once witnessed the history and transformation of mining, serving as a microcosm of the shift from "Coal Capital" to "New Energy Capital" and "Cultural Ecological City." It stands as a window showcasing the hardworking spirit of coal miners, the legacy of the coal industry, and the vision for the city's future development. The resort features three villas, 11 uniquely styled guest rooms, a gym, private cinema, restaurant, reception rooms, and meeting facilities. We look forward to your arrival.
The bedding is soft, the bathroom has no water stains ~ The landlord sent a detailed route in advance, and also sent a small gift. It lived like returning to my grandmother's house. I will lock this house next time!
The rooms are spacious, quiet, clean and bright, with comfortable bedding and beautiful environment. The front desk service is warm and thoughtful. In addition, the location is perfect! Located between the ancient city and Yungang Grottoes, it is close to everywhere. There are many bus lines at the door and it is convenient to take a taxi. It is the most ideal accommodation base for visiting Datong. Full experience! This hotel takes into account the superior geographical location and high-quality accommodation experience. It is the perfect choice for visiting Datong. It is a very cost-effective hotel. It is recommended [strong][strong][strong]
It’s really good to live here. I was shocked when I first entered the parking lot. It was very big and gave people a comfortable atmosphere. The front desk lady was also very professional and polite. Every staff member smiled and was in a good mood. The room was very clean. Come to his house next time. His slippers are really comfortable, much stronger than disposable slippers, and environmentally friendly.
The room was clean and comfortable. The landlady had a great attitude. I stayed here for two days and overall I felt good. The only drawback was that the water heater was faulty. It got hot and cold very quickly. The water flow fluctuated. It was uncomfortable to wash.
In addition, I would like to give a suggestion to the boss: It is best to have protective measures on the corners of the bed board under the bed in the room, such as sticking an anti-collision corner. In the same position, my 66-year-old father and I each received a scratch. It hurts! I still hope to improve the details.

GGuest UserI can’t stop raving about this inn. It is a B&B style three stories tall inn located inside the Datong Ancient City. Complimentary shuttle service between the airport or railway station made it really convenient for out of town travelers. The guest room was clean and equipped with modern facilities like automatic toilets, coded entry, projection screens, etc. The inn is located near the north gate of the city amongst other accommodations. Within minutes of walking is access to the top of the city wall where bike rental is available to ride along the wall. The inn is very quiet at night. The inn is family operated and everyone was very hospitable. What sets this inn apart from other accommodations in the area is their dedication to service. The owner knew I was a tourist and new to the area, she offered to pick me up if I got lost wandering the ancient city. The breakfast came with my reservation. When the owner found out I had to depart before breakfast serving hours, she went above and beyond to prepare food and served me 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The food tasted amazing and came with abundant varieties and huge portions. It was definitely not part of the service to drop off at another venue, but the owner took me to my next accommodation 2km away. I truly appreciate everything this inn and its staff has done for me. I am so glad to have chosen to stay this beautiful little inn on my first night in Datong. I will definitely stay here again without a doubt on my next visit.
GGuest UserThis hotel combines the convenience of modern high tech with the spiritual beauty of traditional culture. The rooms themselves are constructed around courtyards that give a sense of what life might have been like in Datong many centuries ago. In the lobby and in the rooms, murals decorate the walls with elegant designs of birds or flowers. The cabinets, bench, and floors made of wood and the countertops made of marble work together well and draw on design choices that are classicly, universally appealing. At the same time, the entire room is wired with the amenties of modernity. The toilet has a seat warmer and a light that turns on when you lift the lid so that you can find it in the middle of the night. Similarly, there seem to be motion-sensitive lights throughout the room that light up when you walk in the middle of the night so that you can find your way around. The water in the shower and the bathtub is able to get very hot (which I love!) and has high pressure. There is also a top-of-the-line hair dryer. It's the perfect blend of high tech and traditional amenities! If I have one complaint it's that the room was so hot that I had to open my window to let in the freezing air, and still the room was hot! That shows how effective the heating system is!
The serivce at the hotel is also extraordinary! All the members of hotel reception are very friendly. And they send someone to your room shortly after you settle in to give you a platter of fruit, which was fresh and seasonal and artistically chosen it seems. They also have 24 hours service in case you need anything. My friend went into the lobby early in the morning shouting about coffee, and the staff came out quickly to make him a cup.
The hotel is also very clean. The blankets, the pillows, and the sheets are as white as snow. The floors are free of dust and dirt and smudges. Everything in the shower and toilet room was scrubbed clean too. And the shower drains smoothly without pooling any water, showing how well it is maintained.
Finally, the location is very convenient. You can see that for yourself by just looking at the map. But I would like to add that just outside the gate of the hotel, you can see the Prince's palace, which is beautifully lit at night. What's more, my favorite restaurant in downtown Datong (I think the restaurant is translated as BeiWei Family Garden or something like that) is less than 5 minutes walking from the gate. There are also multiple shops for buying vinegar or wine or shaji snacks. In less than 10 minutes, you can also walk to all the major commercial streets. I love the location of this hotel!
GGuest UserWe took a 23-day trip through China, staying in 9 different hotels. Without hesitation, I can say that our stay at Floral stood out in many ways. First, the hotel's structure is very beautiful and has been renovated while staying true to the traditional style of the region. The hotel room itself was probably the most beautiful we had seen on our entire trip: spacious, with windows that actually opened, good air conditioning, and modern decor and furniture without being over the top. Second, the hotel's location is within the boundaries of the city wall and is part of the old town, so beautiful to walk around and see the traditional houses - many of them renovated according to the traditional style. And third and most importantly, the kindness of the people who work at the hotel. I have never felt so welcome anywhere on holiday as at this place. Unfortunately, I arrived with health problems and needed antibiotics - equivalents of the ones I had brought from Europe. I asked the reception where I could find the closest pharmacy, but rather than guiding me there, Xiao Liu, the lady at the reception, figured out for me which antibiotic would be the right one and got it for me. The same when we needed a suitcase, rather than sending me to the shop she inquired about our desired suitcase and in one hour it was there. Drinks are complementary at any time of the day, and the breakfast (Chinese and international - sandwiches) was generous and unlimited. When we were running late coming back from the grottoes and needed to catch a train, Xiao Liu helped us out by bringing us all our suitcases directly to the train station. We will never forget all these acts of kindness and we are still grateful to her and the entire hotel staff for making us feel so much at home. Datong will stay in our minds and hearts forever thanks to the people of the Floral hotel. Datong is special enough for all the incredible cultural sights you can visit - but our stay there will never be forgotten thanks to the beauty of the Floral Hotel and its amazing people. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
GGiuliaThis place is absolutely wonderful.
Centrally located, the building is magnificent and our room was a dream (we were also upgraded and our room was on two levels with a nice balcony and a really spacious living area).
Staff was really helpful and kind - they also hired a driver for us since we wanted to visit Hanging Monastery directly from the high speed station, before even checking in at the hotel: they took care perfectly of our necessity and the organisation was flawless.
I really recommend this place to anybody! you will not regret it!!!
GGuest UserThe location is superb, right within the ancient city. For those driving, parking is available at the Nine Dragon Wall parking lot, just a 100-meter walk away. Despite being in a tourist area, it offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Guandi Temple is also conveniently located nearby. The service was excellent, and breakfast was quite good too. Both the owner and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Although the May Day holiday prices were significantly higher than usual, the convenience made it completely worthwhile. Highly recommended!
GGuest UserExcellent hotel!
Great location, in the heart of the historic part of the city.. Easy to get from the southern Railway station by bus number 61. Comfortable nice room, very clean. The room has a kettle, cups, and tea bags. Girl from reception was so helpful. She has given a lot recomendation for visit attractions of Datun and has helped to find a transfer to Xuankong Si Monastery.
MMethilanI spent nearly a week at Datong Milan/Magnolia Hotel (Dai Residence branch) and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay
Location:
- Nestled a quieter part of the ancient city, that provided a peaceful retreat after each day of exploring.
- 10 minutes to some of the attractions of the old town
- 15-20 minute walk to the popular restaurants and more attractions
- 30 minute walk to Huayan Temple and its nearby street markets.
I'm always happy to walk but if needed, I could always use DiDi to take me around.
Falling asleep without street noise is something I like. There is a bit of building work going nearby, which is happening all over Datong Ancient City, but nothing too major.
Nearby is the Ancient City's wall, but walk past that and you can see the locals dance in the morning in the park or walk along the canal/moat in the evening.
Room:
The room was surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room to spread out and relax, a welcome change from cramped city accommodations. The staircase is a bit narrow, so those with lots of big luggage might struggle (no lift)
Importantly, it was very clean and well equipped. I especially liked the Chinese tea ceremony set!
Service:
- Despite a noticeable language barrier, everyone went above and beyond with smiles, helpful gestures, and clear efforts to communicate.
- Especially the manager, who told me about local food to try, things to do and asked if I needed anything. She noticed that I was bringing back leftovers from the restaurant, and bottled drinks from the shops, and said I could use the fridge.
- I can't speak Chinese so when the delivery driver came to drop off my order, the staff will take it from the reception and bring it to me.
- Unfortunately, breakfast isn't available here
- Drinking water topped up. Humidifier and mosquito repellent were provided when needed.
I will not hesitate to book here again on my next visit and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking comfort and genuine warmth in Datong!
AAnonymous UserBecause I like big rooms, I booked a family room, and there are extra discounts for staying for three days. The hotel is on the 20th-21st floor of a building next to Datong Railway Station. Downstairs is the Aegean Shopping Park. The second underground floor is the hotel parking lot. You have to pay the parking fee in advance and the hotel will reimburse you later. The room decoration is simple, and towels, cups and other utensils are disposable. The sanitary conditions are good. The first room assigned was next to the laundry room and had a sewage odor, so we were quickly moved to another room. There is a Tonghe Hotel near the train station, which serves authentic Datong cuisine and is not expensive. There is a Fudao Noodle Restaurant on Wuding West Street, 300 meters away from the hotel, which serves breakfast at 6:30, and it tastes good.
黄黄善博The hotel was the priciest that we stayed at during our 45 days in China, though the beds, space, and bathroom were the nicest out of them all. For the price, I would’ve hoped that the staff would’ve been a bit more helpful—no elevator and many bags to carry up the three flights of stairs was really quite difficult. The staff also don’t speak any English at all, and my friend doesn’t speak any Chinese, and we didn’t really understand that you needed to put down a deposit of 100rmb that would then be refunded to you (or that they needed a Chinese phone number too; I didn’t have one, and as a foreigner traveling through China, if I had been by myself or didn’t know or have any Chinese friends with Chinese numbers, I would’ve been unable to check-in).
The hotel was very nice nonetheless. Fantastic location, very close to everything. The walk to the old city wall took about an hour, and would’ve been a ten minute taxi ride. The street the hotel is located on is full of lots of local shops and restaurants, and feels very lively during the day. The staff was also very friendly and enjoyed speaking with the foreigner at the hotel (although I had some trouble understanding the Shanxi accent! Jin Chinese is not my strongest!).
The WiFi was a bit slow. But the beds were incredible. Huge, clean, soft. Pillows were lovely. Bathroom was huge. Just wish there’d been a bit more service from the front desk. Was a tad weird to get up at 5:50am to go to the Hanging Temple 悬空寺, which is very normal, to see the woman at the front desk asleep… it was fine, but still a bit weird.
GGuest UserIt was a very pleasant stay in the hotel. I stayed for three days and I enjoyed the comfortable and spacious room with its soft floor, the adjustable illumination and the goodies which I received daily as well as the breakfast buffet, which included a variety of Chinese food, salad, fruits, toast, cornflakes, little cakes and freshly made noodle soup.
