We used to frequent at GoHotels (other branches) many years ago so I know that it’s a reputable hotel. But this time, COME ON. They renovated the exterior and lobby of GH Lanang to look new but the rooms are way too old. I paid 4,100+ for 2 nights and it was not worth it - TERRIBLE at that. I didn’t sleep well because of the room state and avoided using the toilet and shower as much as I could because just look at the photos and be the judge. Not only did it look bad, it also smelled bad. On my 2nd morning, I kindly requested for room service but the staff informed me that they only do room service on a guests’s 3rd day but I was only on a 3D2N stay so I figured I wasn’t qualified. I went on and requested that the CR at least be sprayed with air freshener because it was smelly (I literally told them it was smelly). They agreed this time so I expected it to have been done upon my return in the evening but unfortunately it wasn’t (still smelly when I arrived) and I didn’t bother to request again. There was no exhaust fan in the toilet - only a small window that didn’t help at all with the smell up to my last day. Note that there is no “main” CR door - only 2 separate glass doors, one for the toilet and one for the shower. So expect to smell your own poop in the entire because the doors would not hold off the smell for you, lol. You can see the sink from your bed because it was just… there. The only redeeming factor of that room was the duvet and 2 of the pillows (the pillow cases of the other 2 were old and cheap). Other small things I should note: in-room phone wasn’t working so I had to google the number and call the front desk from my mobile phone. I borrowed a flat iron and was quickly brought up to me (thank you, staff). I also requested for a towel change (just 1; there were 2) on my first night because the towels were giving off this weird smell. They quickly changed it (thank you again) but it smelled the same so maybe it was the detergent being used that smelled weird. I let it go. One of the bedside lamps had small stains that looked like blood, which freaked me out NGL. Look, I wasn’t expecting a luxurious stay. I’m a frequent traveller who even stays at smaller, unfamiliar hotels when on long trips to smaller and farther towns. But this was way too bad. I’ve stayed at many rooms like that of what I experienced with GH but I only paid 800-1,000/night so who am I to complain? With GoHotels, I expected more because it’s a Robinson’s property. Heck, Gokongwei group had an advertisement at the lobby so I expected a decent stay at bare minimum! With that experience, I will NEVER stay at ANY GoHotels again and will probably avoid Summit hotels too because it was being advertised at the lobby and I don’t wanna risk paying more money for another sub-par experience. P.S. I cannot comprehend how others have recently rated GH Lanang with 5 stars LOL

It's a new hotel in town. The staff were kind and polite. They were very considerate with my every request and they were very prompt. Filtered hot and cold vendi is accessible , its a money saver.
If your are particular with cleanliness I recommend this hotel, it is super clean. Fast food like McDo and Jollibee are walking distance . Though The SPMC hospital is just next to it but it didn't bother me .So far there were no noise annoyance during my stay. Though it's a little distant from shopping malls . The SPMC hospital is just next to it but it didn't bother me .So far there were no noise annoyance during my stay. The hotel is located at the back of MCDo it could be much presentable if the drive way were clean , I saw dump area along way . I may say, as constructive criticism the outside view from where I was roomed wasn't that nice , I can see the local residence cooking and eating their meals outside . I can understand it but if I am a foreigner it won't be favorable.
To stay again in this hotel would be in my list. Thank you for your service.

We had a great stay in Seda Davao. The location is very accessible since it's just about 20 minutes from the airport and the hotel is directly beside a mall. The staff were very courteous and approchable most especially their General Manager, Ms. Joy who welcomed us. The room was very clean and spacious, we had a good night's sleep for 2 straight nights. Special mention to Alexis of Front Office and Archie of concierge for making our stay worth remembering. The next time I visit Davao, I will definitely stay in Seda Abreeza. Daghang salamat!

I am on my Vismin leg of trainings and Davao is my last for this week. Had a great, smooth time in Tacloban, Cebu, Bohol and this last seminar in this hotel have been very challenging so far. At the front desk, I requested for lower floor, which I normally do (due personal traumatic experience which I do not need to explain) and after a series of ”please” thank God, Kate of Front Desk stepped in and found us a room at 6th which will be ready only by 5pm. It was turned over around 6pm. In preparation for our Monday seminar, we coordinated with Rose of Banquet to ocular the place as we have a specific layout to follow that will be good for classroom set up, group dynamics and dining. When we arrived at Ruby function room, linen staff Cory was there arranging for our seminar on Monday so we rendered help in lay outing the tables and chairs, projector screen. When we had to coordinate with the technical, we requested an HDMI longer than 1 meter so laptop can rest on the tech table. Sure they have a longer one but with additional charge of P300/day. When I asked for wireless mic to be used since the activity will involve passing around of microphone among the participants, guess what? Yes, an additional P800/mic/day will be charged! So with the 3 days seminar and 1 week stay that we pre booked and paid , these little requests do not come free. I do not want to ruin my Davao stay because I am an avid fan of our former President Duterte and only have the highest respects for his place. I hope to find some pleasant things from this hotel for the remaining days of my stay here to compensate for the ugly start. Time to activate the Vision Mission which is in every room of the hotel and not just left on the brochure. A simple greeting, some genuine smiles mean a lot to every customer. So far the only staff who has a ready smile and genuinely asks how he can be of service is Jaypee, service crew of Cafe Frances. He takes time to talk with the customers and ask how they are doing and recommends the best dish. Food is great and reasonably priced -- large servings and delicious! As for the edifice, needs repairs and refurbs. We had to call in help for the A/C and busted light bulb.

This 70 + year old hotel surely exceeded my expectations. The check-in process was straight forward and simple so I quickly found myself in my room. This room was nicely furnished and newly renovated with all the standard necessary amenities. Very comfortable king sized bed with very clean sheets and pillows. A couple of bedside light switches were broken though. The bathroom was very clean, with ample supply of towels and toiletries. The dinning area where a buffet is set up was cool, smelling good and no insects flying around. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. Very attentive service. Reasonable priced food both for the buffet and ala cart menu. Enjoyed the hotel's bar at night. The Blue Moon. Drinks and karaoke. There is no swimming pool. There is a large garden where one can eat al fresco. Overall a very good experience.

I stayed in Blue Lotus Hotel in July 2023 for one night, although I frequently visited their Sky View Restaurant. I had a great experience. The room was quite spacious, approximately 30 sq metres. The elevator is one of a kind where you do not need to touch it but simply use your RFID-enabled hotel keycard. I believe this was for sanitizing measures taken by the hotel management since the pandemic era. The room has qiblah direction on the ceiling, and they provide Muslim travellers with prayer mats as well as Holy Quran. Very thoughtful touch since none of the hotels in Davao City provide this in their room. The housekeeping staff were also attentive and it took less than 10 minutes for them to deliver the iron & board. The hotel has a Malaysian Chef, Chef Shah who cooks authentic Malaysian dishes like sate, murtabak, chicken curry, daging masak hitam and nasi beriani.

Outstanding
BBig BeckerI recently stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always willing to go above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with modern amenities. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep.
The hotel facilities were also top-notch, with a beautiful pool area, fitness center, and on-site restaurant serving delicious meals. The location was convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and transportation options.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I will definitely be returning in the future.
HHAnnah Lesley TTHE SITUATION We were on a budget and planned to stay for an entire week. We chose The Strand because the online information said it: 1) Was in the right location (near malls) 2) Fit our budget of less than 1000 pesos a night 3) Pictures showed it was clean and looked fairly new 4) Didn't have that motel vibe PROS: 1) Affordable -- less than 1000 a night, man. 2) Friendly, accommodating staff -- we had to change our booking because we were going to stay in another hotel after our first night in Davao, and then go back to The Strand on the third night. Of course, we gave this confirmation before the no cancellation deadline, but what I liked was that we didn't have to do any rebooking online. The staff arranged the modification for us. 3) Morning coffee and bread -- The booking.com information said that breakfast wasn't included. They actually serve one cup of coffee (Nescafe 3-in-1) and one piece of bread (stuffed pandesal) from 6am-10am. It's not a substitute for a proper breakfast, but it can stave off hunger while you're on your way to finding a restaurant or cafe. 4) New building -- It was built only 2 years ago 5) Clean -- Some dirt between the bathroom tiles but not a big deal CONS: 1) Steep & limited parking -- We cracked the car's front fender, and there were only two parking slots. Another option is street parking, but then won't be as secure. 2) No 24-hour pharmacies within walking distance -- I got sick and the hotel doesn't sell paracetamols either. Bring your own med kit if you plan to stay here. 3) No elevator -- They only have 4 levels, so not a big deal unless you're a PWD. Just request for a lower floor upon booking, NOT upon check-in. 4) No jeepney or bus stops nearby -- it's an 8-10 minute walk from the hotel to the nearest street with public transport. We suggest downloading the Grab application so that you can book a taxi anytime. Davao taxi drivers are nice :) 5) Saggy mattress OVERALL: Great for those who are no-frills travelers. The room was very basic, but spacious and clean (we booked a studio). However, next time we might stay somewhere else with better parking and closer to a convenience store or pharmacy. There were other minuscule inconveniences but at such a cheap price per night I was happy to just let them go.
GGuest UserPlace is strategically located along the parade route for the kadayawan festivities. Its also most of the public transportation passed by. So moving around wouldnt be difficult. Locals are friendly, if you get lost just ask politely. Fares are universal for public transport but make sure to bring loose bills like extra coins to limit hassle transactions. The property is outdated though and theres no bidet in the bathroom. They dont have concierge thus make sure to packed lightly. Theres 1 lift available to move between floors. Price was a bit high due to the peak demands as the property was fully booked. Need to check the AC upon check in as the 1st room I got AS was working but cannot cool the room in itself. Upon technician visit, they were kind enough to accommodate me on the 2nd room considering they were fully booked during the festivities. Generally speaking, booked ahead and plan your itineraries prior to booking to maximize your wallet potential. Food stalls are walk away from the property same as other attractions.
JJet58644701643If you like to stroll and walk like us, this is the hotel to stay. It is situated in close proximity to all the must see places in Davao City: People's Park, San Pedro Cathedral, Roxas Night Market, Magsaysay Park, etc. The hotel is beautiful with a grand lobby. However the floor hallways do not have a/c and the room carpets need some TLC. Also the bed configuration was quite weird as it was situated close to the wall that made access hard from one side. Our room had a tub/shower and plenty amenities. Our 1st day the refrigerator was not working, which was replaced. WIFI was spotty but TV reception was good. Breakfast buffet was very good and the service was warm and genuine. We felt safe staying at this hotel.
MMONICAThe room is decent considering its rate and location. However, there are some areas that could use improvement, such as cleanliness and maintenance significantly, i find it’s very hard to get inside or open the door due to broken knob, bidet, noisy environment, alarming structural damages (literally the cracks are visible like a human finger gaps) Unfortunately the earthquake and aftershocks wole us up. Not to mention the parking spaces are limited. Overall, it offers reasonable value for the price, but addressing these concerns could enhance the overall experience.
PParttimeTraveler_OWEI stayed for 3 nights for about 2000 yen. As you write, I thought if I didn't ask for luxury, I would pass this price. Good point price, location in downtown center. Colonial architecture with an insta-fill courtyard pool, and stairs to insta-fill. Free breakfast with a degree of unselectable belly. You can watch CableTV on CRT TV. Good staff response. Bad point Amenities are only bath towels, bag rinse in shampoo, bag soap. No bathtub, safe, electric pot, toilet hand shower. Deluxe double has a refrigerator but fails. Pool that doesn't want to enter. No elevator (although I carried my luggage when I checked in). Wifi is good but slow. et cetera. I would like to compare other hotels or Airbnb at the same price next time I come to DVO.
GGuest UserGreat place to stay, the staff are very accommodating, Facilities are well maintained, Neat room. Water in shower gives a relaxing massage;) Swimming at night is great. Quiet place. Place is near the airport, mall, church, park and Roxas food park.
GGuest UserWe arrived at the room and tried to lock the door but we cannot lock it. We called the front desk and someone from them went to the room, checked the door and told us that its okay we cannot lock the room as long as we have the key no one can enter our room except for us and they have many cctv (we could rely on their cctv if incase someone will trespass our room). We decided to trust then and let this problem go. Then on the evening Our room leaked and the water came from the CR of the floor above us. The staff told us it came from the CR from 8th floor we were staying at 7th floor. Our clothes were soaked in that dirty water. The front desk told me to smell the clothes and if doesn’t smell bad I should just let it dry and use it tomorrow. She was pushing me to smell the clothes! And I dont want to do it since I know the water came from the CR! I know its dirty. I asked them if they can assist me in their laundry service since it was not my fault that my clothes were soaked in the dirty water she told me she could not help me. So I asked detergent powder I’ll do the washing of clothes myself since the front desk told me she cannot help me with the laundry. Detergent powder is not available also. So I used the bath soap in the room to wash our clothes. It was really terrible. I hanged my clothes in the cr and in the morning hanged it outside the window. We decided to avail their breakfast buffet paid P450 each person. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30am but to our surprise there was no food available for us. They told they will refill but 8:30am came there’s still very minimal refill. The people near the buffet table were able to get food but for us who are far from the buffet table, we were not able to get the refill that they provided. Until many people arrived worst came to worst they ran out of food. It was supposed to be an buffet breakfast but they told everyone there that they will serve food per table instead since they ran out of food. What a nightmare. People were asking if they still have longganisa they told na person “they will try their best to provide” so they are not prepared to cater for buffet breakfast. Its not worth the P450 pesos. Youll only eat crumbs. And you need to always ask them for food. Its just so unfair for us who paid full price and did not get to eat that much since they ran out of food. Their service is really different from other hotels.
Sshige2012I think it's good for people who want to stay cheaply.
Showers are generally cold showers, and some rooms have water heaters. I stayed for several nights, but I paid directly from the second day onwards.
There is a night market nearby and its name is Big Bank Park. You can eat delicious food cheaply. Apparently there's comedy and entertainment shows on Fridays.
GGuest UserVery accessible and very satisfied guest. We will definitely book again soon on our next davao trip🙌🙌😘thank you so much to the very accommodating host just pm away, easy transaction♥️
