Stopped in for a drink and to watch the game and had an amazing experience with the AMAZING bartender Nikki! She crafted amazing drinks and was personable, charismatic and fun to interact with. Atmosphere was good. Drinks and food were great. Music was good too. Would recommend!

We ended up at the Daytona Grande after the Hilton Oceanfront overbooked and we were on our way with no place to stay! Admittedly not the safest, but I had to book this place while driving from the Orlando airport and just looking for something that wasn’t a total dive but still decently priced without a ton of extra fees. No free breakfast here which is something I especially appreciate as a family of 6, but in this case it was just me and my teenage son in town for an archery championship. After the highly stressful day of travel we had, the Grande was like a little slice of Heaven! It was clean, quiet, and beautiful. We decided after having to skip lunch with flight delays and all that, we just wanted a good meal and a good bed and we got exactly that. My son and I split truffle fries to start, the crusted crab filet, and beignets for dessert. All were wonderful (and we’re from Dallas where there is no shortage of excellent food) and enjoyed Oceanside on the dimly lit quiet patio. My only criticism is that the tables should be turned perpendicularly to the ocean and hotel so that everyone at the table gets a view of both rather than one facing a wall while the other faces the ocean.
Rooms were nicely decorated, had comfortable, intuitive lighting, handy USB plugs, and most importantly REALLY COMFORTABLE BEDS! We have a Tempurpedic at home so my sleep is usually pretty abysmal at hotels. Now, this wasn’t as comfy as home, but I slept hard and woke without being sore since the bed was genuinely comfortable.
My only complaints about the room were that the window sheers, while stylish, really gave no privacy at all, so if you wanted privacy you had to sacrifice light. Water pressure wasn’t great and the bathroom needed more towel bars and hooks. This would’ve been way more of a nuisance with the whole family, but they also came midday and restocked towels and made up the beds, which we see less and less of these days, even at nice hotels in the name of being “green”. But it was spacious and clean and otherwise nicely equipped.
Elevators were fast and never held us up. Beach access from the elevator was nice as we didn’t have to walk through the lobby in swimsuits. Parking was slightly inconvenient being caddy corner across the street, but not bad at all. We considered but didn’t try room service mainly due to price and unknown wait (when we had tournament times to consider) but the little shop/cafe in the lobby was great and convenient and priced about as you’d expect (pricey, but not too ridiculous). We got coffee and breakfast sandwiches both days.
I think the biggest issue with this place is the visibility. It’s tall to be sure so you’re not going to miss it, but the entrance and signage is on the far side and behind a little aqua building (I think called Sand Dunes) which had to be apartments or a teeny hotel that I can only assume refused to sell to the Grande in development so the Grande built around it. It keeps it from having the opulent entrance that the Hilton does

The beds were comfortable the pillows were very soft but not my style however they were great the Jacuzzi has no jets working. Justin at the front desk said That since the water was hot it was half working. I overall had a great time and I would stay here again it’s right on the beach and it has a good pool a nice Children swim area separate from the pool with the fence and the parking was free. This hotel is a little cottage in the woods sort of place…quiet, not cluttered with urban madness at your doorstep, yet easily accessed for events and adventures nearby. Driving is a must and what it might lack in some things you want… like free everything….you have the gift of seclusion and rest. The lobby and entry area is huge and possibilities endless to relax, do business or meetings, and to chill out with food, snacks, and beverages. I used canes and my walker on a bad day and navigating was easy peasy. I cannot say enough about the staff from folks out front to cleaning crew to Bistro waitress. Flat out kind. Thoughtful. Funny. Helpful. Honest.

While the front desk and breakfast staff were truly excellent, this is not a good property. Housekeeping/maintenance are very poor. The carpet needs a deep clean and the exhaust vent in the shower was coated in gunk. Plus, the housekeeping staff seemed to be more interested in finishing their work quickly instead of well (i.e., one day a supervisor kept roaming the hall talking loudly on the phone/radio early in the morning seemingly to wake guests up and another day our room wasn’t cleaned because the staff claimed we had a privacy tag on our door when we did not). The food selection at breakfast was fairly limited each day (with pretty bad scrambled eggs) but the drink station was well stocked. We have not had good luck with the RI chain as a whole lately but this one was particularly bad.

RrobjD407WKWe stayed one night and have stayed here before. Pros: Checkin, Checkout and breakfast-all good. Room quiet, everything worked, comfortable. Cons: We found a live roach in the morning on the chest of drawers. We got a call from the front desk manager at 1 am waking us up. He asked: ”Do you have any animals in the room? I said No. He almost acted like he didnt quite believe us but said ”sorry for calling so late”. REALLY? Honestly, I have been traveling for 30+ years and have never had this happen. Here's what you do: You get off your a$$ and walk the floors until you hear the noisy animals and you knock on the door or call the room. You dont start calling people's rooms. We heard nothing so I cant imagine where the noisy animals were. Pretty much ruined our stay and our sleep.
GGuest UserVery pleased with cleanliness, most of staff was very friendly the breakfast staff were super nice there was one who worked the desk at night who clearly did not want to be there and had a poor atitude, breakfast was okay wish they had a little more to offer but it was enough to get you going for the day, pool are met my needs but there were not readily available pool towels without having to ask, location was good not to much traffic right by both daytona speedway and the airport and a short 13 minutes or so from daytona beach was also nice that there was a mall across the street although I did not get to visit during my stay. I enjoyed the stay enough to book an additional day.
GGuest UserThis Quality Inn is in a great location. The front desk lady was friendly , the breakfast was very good. All employees that we came in contact with were nice and efficient. The hotel was clean. The only complaint was that the room was very damp, carpet, sheets, towels. My husband's hat was wet the next morning. We stayed because we checked in late but it was uncomfortable. I am a Quality Inn fan & I know the humidity is high right now so maybe that was it. This wouldn't keep me from trying it again because everything else was great.
Staff is amazing. Great reach other like a family and their guests too. Teach the bartender was awesome. So friendly. Makes duende with everyone. Recommended the best food. It drinks were fantastic. She is top notch. We highly recommend this place and having drinks and dinner in the hotel.
GGuest UserWe were forced to get a hotel room during our trip to Fl because my sister found out she had Covid the day of our arrival. We wanted someplace near NSB, so we choose Holiday Inn Express in the shores. Biggest mistake ever. As soon as we opened the door to the room, the musty smell overtook us, but thought once the AC ran awhile would be ok, I sprayed some room freshener I had… it was ok until you would leave the room for a period of time and you’d be hit with it again. There was black mold in the shower. The AC wouldn’t run right at night so it would get warm in the middle of the night… The first day there, I noticed the pool was dark and murky looking, I really wanted to get in, but not the way it looked. I questioned the girl at the desk, she says oh it’s fine, the chemicals checked ok.. I don’t think so, I own a pool and a hot tub. 2 hrs later the pool was roped off and closed for the day!! The elevators didn’t work the whole week we were there.. Got stuck once and some people were stuck for 20 mins and others 45 mins banging on the doors and I know first hand it’s hot in there, the A.C. never worked. My husband had to stand and wait sometimes up to 15 mins for the elevator and he’s handicapped. That is just unacceptable!! Most of the front desk were rude, we weren’t even offered to switch rooms or any credit for all these inconveniences. One day, the girl at the front desk waited on hotel employees before me, a paying guest, even after her supervisor told her to wait on the guest first.. rude!! The floors/ carpet in rooms are filthy, after a shower I forgot to put my Sandals on and my feet were black and had to wash them again. You expect rust on the beach, but not an inch of dust on the rust of the fixtures, clean them!! (Torey) that’s who didn’t clean our room and left mold in the shower. No coffee maker for the breakfast after 6 days of being there I kept expecting one to show up. But when I called there today to ask a question about my bill I’m told the elevator is fixed, new coffee maker everything is fixed now.. Am I expected to believe 2 days after I ck out it all got better??? Please, Please, please do not leave me your generic response because it’s insulting.. if you want to do something ask me to contact you for a credit… btw we stayed at a holiday in Lorton, VA and it had mold in the shower too?? What’s up with IHG. Positive note: the ladies during the breakfast were wonderful… I just feel for the price we paid, expected more, especially for weekend rates of 259.00 for what we got or should I say didn’t get
GGuest UserLocation was perfect for what we needed. The pool was nice and access to the beach was perfect. The staff was less than inviting and some were just rude. The rooms were good sized but HOT. Needed to buy a fan to sleep. The AC units do not work as they should. The fan in the bathroom does not do it’s job. Had to shower with the door open to breath. The doors do not seal thus allowing even more hot air into an already hot room. If my room had not been prepaid I would of left after the first night. We were miserable trying to sleep. This LqQuinta does NOT live up to the many I have stayed in over the years. Very Disappointed!
TT3326EYlisakTerrible internet- however gets worse before unpacking I purchased disinfectant floor cleaner and bathroom cleaner. It was disgusting. I have pictures and to top it off the pool they claim and say they have a pool man. The pool has not run since I checked in last week. There are still two chicken drumstick bones in the pool the pool is still cloudy according to pool maintenance, which I have one you have to turn the water over in the pool, a minimum of once a day, especially in the Florida heat, they don’t even have the pump running as you can see in the pictures and video. Everything is stagnant would not get in this pool two years ago when I stayed here William was wonderful, but I don’t know who they have in charge and then today my key I keep telling them the key doesn’t work right it drops down and and the lady goes. We’ll just get tweezers. She was very rude. Her name was Raven. She’s from another location. The young man that helped me was wonderful , but yeah, they have some doozies of supposedly hospitality Crew here if I would treat my patience like that, there would be some throwing a fits for sure if I find another place quickly I will be out. I stayed three months last time, but there’s no way. Like I said, these chicken bones have been in the pool since last week when I checked in The front desk lady said if you have a problem call corporate wasn’t even willing to look at the problem so I called corporate. They’re supposed to be getting back in 3 to 3 days but we’ll see the trouble you can get really bad urinary track infections from dirty water.
WWisemanWilliamIt is what it is. An affordable place to stay. Not as glamorous or as new as other places but if you are on a budget and traveling it is a great place to stay.
