The owner seemed judgemental, she did not want to accept two men may want to share a queen bed. Someone spilled beer in the elevator and they did not clean it for the three remaining days we where there. We went down in the afternoon to grab a coffee from the coffee bar and where told they don't serve coffee, we where directed to make our own with a Keurig, then pay $6.50 for it. The place is cute but I would not reccommend staying here for these reasons.

Mostly great but safe in my room didn’t work. Asked for a late checkout and was told I could stay until noon. 11:30 the desk called (same guy who told me noon) and asked me why I hadn’t checked out yet. 🤔
Either way, still a great spot with great decor / furnishings. Will likely be back again.

This was a really well done, modern hotel that is an excellent value. The room was spacious and comfortable with a Brooklyn/GenZ vibe. We had a little patio with seating outside our room, very comfortable bed, very helpful and polite staff and an excellent restaurant in the hotel itself (Black Ginger). It's a pretty hotel that is walkable to downtown Detroit, Corktown (which is super cool), safe neighborhood, parking and also walkable to Tiger's stadium.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The photos are NOTHING like the actual hotel. Old cracked cement floors with a throw rug tossed down, ours even had blood on the rug. Very unclean, no amenities, staff is … rude, toilet was leaking all over the floor, horrible linens, our pillows looked like they were 10 years old. Horrible smell to the check in area, have to pay for parking separately???? We tried to cancel and leave but they refused to refund us and we didn’t have time to sit and argue so we slept on top of the bedding and still were so uncomfortable through the whole night. NOT WORTH 200 a night. Read the google reviews and believe them. They are accurate

I’ve attempted to call and email. My cars alternator died while I was on my way to Detroit and I was stranded in Ohio. I was still charged the full amount. I have yet to hear back about a refund.

This is my third time choosing trumbell & porter for my weekend hotel stay for Detroit concerts and it's perfect for someone who doesn't wanna pay a whole lot but also doesn't want to stay in a ragedy hotel. The staff have taken care of me every time I come and never have any complaints staying here. Super close to downtown for ubers too.

Amazing spot! The location is amazing and you are around so many awesome breweries and restaurants!!! Such a clean and cozy space and loved that fact that Trumbell and Porter used Michigan made products to decorate the hotel and make each room so cozy! Black Ginger just opened up and was so yummy! They had some awesome beers on tap as well!!
