This hotel was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and resulted in one of the best night sleep I’ve ever had! The attached restaurant served a good walleye dinner. Good selection of drinks in the bar. Would definitely stay at Holiday Inn if I was in Detroit Lakes in the future.

Beautiful lakefront hotel. Hotel was clean and quiet. Room was a decent size. Fridge and microwave in the room which was a plus. Beach was very nice. They had a dock & slide in the lake for guest use. Pool and hot tub inside were clean. Check-in was smooth.

We had our 50th Year Class Reunion there July 19th through the 21st. From our first visit to start the planning to our check out it was a fabulous experience. The staff were friendly, fun and accommodating. Special shout out to Joe, Zach and Allison who helped make our event more than we ever dreamed of! Highly recommend.

What an experience. This hotel had everything that we were looking for and met all of our expectations. Great location and a better staff. The staff, including their manager, Joe, did everything that make our stay as comfortable as possible. Can't recommend the Holiday Inn Detroit Lakes more.

Time spent in Detroit Lakes, 2024 I had an even numbered room which faces the road and train tracks. The noice is enough to keep you awake. Ask for a lake view (odd number) room. They are also renovating. If you need to sleep during the day, it won’t happen due to the noice. The restaurant has adequate food choices but it is NOT “fast food”. It took over 15 minutes to get a glass of water, and then another 10 minutes to get a menu. The entire experience took over 80 minutes to get a burger & fries. The service at the bar was equally slow even with me sitting at the bar. At one point I had to ask the bartender if he was ready to take my order.

In the last 10 years I come to this hotel for few days vacation in the summer. It is outstanding personal, well trained, especially the manager Mr. Joe. Good and drinks, beyond your expectations. Wednesdays nights, all you can eat of pasta. A drink at their private beach is outstanding. I highly recommend this property for any couples would like to run away for few days. People can drive or land on their beach to have something to eat and drink Keep the good work

Clean, safe and the MOST comfortable beds and bedding! Was here for 2 nights and had 3 great meals. Emily at the front desk was especially helpful and got me signed in with the rewards program. Amanda at the front desk was friendly and very efficient at check-out. Can't wait to come back in the summer.

Great family Christmas again. We have already booked for next year. Also family reunion in June every year. Great staff and service. Especially Joe. Thanks for everything you do for us Joe. Your great. I owe you a piece of chocolate cake. See you in June.

This was our second stay within five weeks for hockey tournaments. This time around I was unable to check-in via the IHG app, and the front desk was rather rude when I called to check in. Front desk staff initially was very unfriendly, however through the course of the stay their attitudes improved. Our team was on the third floor and our rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, My only complaint about our room would be that our door to our balcony would open on its own. We did keep our cooler on our balcony, but when we would leave for the day we would lock the door and security lock. And when we would return the door would be a jar (see pictures). I never felt unsafe in the room, or like somebody had tried to enter our room. We did visit the bar and restaurant in the hotel and I will say that it's extremely expensive in my opinion for the quality that you receive (2 appetizers, one alcoholic beverage, and one kid beverage was with tip $60) . Our server this tournament was much more friendly and attentive than our server in December which was super nice to see. The local Hockey Association did come in and do horse racing and bingo which was fun. They also bring in a DJ for dancing and karaoke at night. It did seem like this was a local hangout spot so just maybe keep that in mind, as it did get crowded quickly. Overall I would recommend this hotel for a weekend stay.
