Ok. Totally honest review. We just came back from a week here and was mostly great. Myself, husband and 17 year old son. The staff all really nice, happy to help and accommodating. When we first arrived we pulled up and hotel looked lovely. They parked the car for us. We arrived very late and we had missed dinner so the restaurant arranged for some food for us which we appreciated greatly. Then we went to our room as we were tired from a long day travelling. Our room was very disappointing. Didn’t look clean and looked so dated and as if it was falling apart. The wardrobes were broken, door frames broken, wires hanging out walls, terrible floor levels in room, dated bathrooms. Not what we would expect from a 4/5 star at all. We polity requested a different room. Which the staff did no questions. We were moved to a slightly bigger room and although better overall finish shabby again and looked like it has seen better days. The patio doors came out the frame and on day 3 the towel rail came off the wall in the shower and hit my husband in the face. We once again asked to move rooms, staff did so and were once again sorry for what had happened and we moved that night. However… when we got to our third room there was a curtain missing and one came off in our hands when we pulled it. We couldn’t believe what was happening. The next day we had a shower and it was blocked and started to over flow. The maintenance man came and cleared it but this continued for the rest of our stay but we decided we weren’t moving again. Fortunately we were able to laugh about it and not let it ruin our stay. But It didn’t take long to notice the corridors were damaged, windows didn’t close and continually banged in the wind day and night and couldn’t be closed some were nailed shut and siliconed to stop them banging . The bedroom doors banged shut so loudly and you can hear everything in the rooms above below and either side. We certainly didn’t get a good nights sleep. That said the food was mostly great, the selection good although repetitive. The snack bar was good. There is a la carte nights which no one told us about. Our rep told us quite late on so we managed to book Italian and fish night and both were fantastic. Best dinners of the week. Cocktails were not great and they ran out of quite a few drinks being last week of the season which was disappointing but understandable. Entertainment could be better. Nothing much in the daytime (my son and husband did enjoy shooting) One night they just played titanic on the cinema screen in Turkish. No pool tables / games area nothing for older kids / adults. Overall I would say currently it’s a 3 star all round definitely not 5. We had a good holiday and although rooms and facilities disappointing for what we were expecting we made the most of it. Would we return, sadly not. We have stayed in much nicer places but the staff were all lovely and made the holiday.
