Kilmory Resort

Charming cabins along the water with breath taking views. We chose this because we needed to catch a boat to woody island the following morning and wanted to be close. There is a well equipped kitchen. Our cabin had a second bedroom in a loft. The stairs could be troublesome for an older person or a younger child. The rooms are super clean and the beds are comfortable. The wifi was adequate. There are restaurants nearby. We accidentally locked ourselves out while taking pictures of the full moon and the manager came quickly to resolve our dilemma. Children played freely in the open spaces.

Super clean cabin. Well-equipped. Bring scot towels & tissues. Drip coffee perc. Comfy bed. Awesome view!!! Love the propane and the satellite TV. Wonderful hostess Corinna. This is a great place to chill and enjoy nature!!

We stayed in Cabin 11 and had the most relaxing and romantic vacation. Everything we needed was there, and if we had questions or needs Coreena was immediately on the case. Super friendly and really welcoming. The cabin was gorgeous and well equipped . Stunning view of the river. The deck got to 28 degrees, even in late September. Hot tub was excellent and the fire place just beautiful! Thank you for the gorgeous stay - we look forward to coming back!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The view was spectacular and we had a nice walk on the beach. Cabin was well appointed, clean and cozy. Bring all your food as there is nothing nearby.

We stayed here with our extended family, using about 7 of their cabins for four nights. Newfoundland has had an incredibly hot summer so when we were here it was in excess of 25+ degrees each day. The beds and the rooms were like sleeping on an uncomfortable mattress in the seventh circle of hell. There are fans provided but all they does is blow hot air on you. Given that we had about 7 cabins used, we were able to compare the amenities in each cabin. some decks for example are quite rickety and in need of upgrades. Some had regular ovens but most kitchens had apartment size stoves, they were all well stocked. The access to the pool is a journey from the cabins. We drove because we had small kids. The pool was like swimming in a hot tub, probably the easiest pool we have ever gotten in Newfoundland but because it was 25 degrees outside it wasn’t very refreshing. The access to the pool requires going down some rickety stairs and walking along the rocky beach. We had some guests that just weren’t comfortable walking down there due to bad knees even when told by the owners they could access the pool through the private residence pathway (which is still steep). Also of note, on the map they provide you it looks like there is an access to the beach between two of the cabins but it is washed out and needs repair. The wifi and cell service is poor in the community. We asked for fresh towels and we’re told they would drop them off, then needed to go up and get them ourselves the next day. The washing machine in theory washes items but nothing gets clean. The kids had a great time with the pool and playground and fishing and that’s ultimately all that matters but I would not recommend this place in the hot summer nor for anyone with mobility issues.

Booked a 2 night stay for my family (3 & 1 year olds), mainly for the pool access and playground to have a mini staycation. The patio was unsafe, rungs far apart and broken floor boards. The BBQ was old and rusted. The park was falling apart and my kids could not play on any of it. We tried to keep spirits high as we got ready to go to the pool - the steep steps were dangerous and it was very difficult to carry my kids and our swim gear down the steps and across the rocky path to the pool. We opened the gates and were stunned. The pool was filled with dark brown water. We immediately packed up our crying kids and checked out. Thankfully the owners were very understanding and apologetic, but I felt like I should have been made aware that the pool was brown prior to showing up. Kilmory Resort should not advertise a pool if the water is brown. I would not consider this a family friendly resort. If you are looking for a little getaway as adults to stay in a quaint cabin, then I would suggest Kilmory, as the view was nice and the cabin was ok. But I would never recommend staying here with young children.

Outstanding is an understatement. We are first time visitors and made reservations about a month ago just as a winter break. Communication with the owner/operators has been seamless and detailed. We arrived as scheduled, cottage was warm and lights on, very welcoming. They cottage is “spotless “ and I mean clean! Wow, for a public accommodation you can tell the owners actually take care of what they have to offer. We’ve visited many similar tourist offerings in province over the past 2 years and Kilmory is head and shoulders above the rest. Cozy is an understatement. Overlooking Swift Current, the actual river, was rejuvenating and the entire setting is world class. Also whoever takes care of the every day maintenance is outstanding.
