Fabulous cabin right in the forest we enjoyed the peace and quiet with no wifi or phone reception it’s a true detox with time to just relax. The nearby waterholes are bliss in the heat and the restaurant served excellent meals would stay again next time I go to the Daintree

Unique property in beautiful rainforest setting. Swimming in a rainforest pool was a special experience. Great restaurant.

One of our favourite days of our week up there was lunch and a swim here. The food and ambience at the restaurant was beautiful, and the swimming holes were breathtakingly delightful, on a warmish day its just amazing in the cooler crystal clear water there (go right from the restaurant albeit there are a few options). A must do if you ever anywhere near here. BYO bathers :-)

Centrally located and well appointed lodge with an excellent restaurant. Our cabin was very comfortable and quiet. <30 minutes to all the local attractions from the Daintree River to Cape Tribulation. Nice birds all around with the chance of a cassowary. Thanks to Denise at the main desk for her help and advice and to Beth and her restaurant colleagues for feeding us well. Will definitely return.

My family and I stayed for three nights in June. The room was not fancy, but we didn’t expect one. The beds were comfortable for sleeping and the sleeping temperature was great with the windows open - screens kept the bugs and critters out. The shower pressure was excellent and plenty of hot water. Moreover, it was clean. The staff members that were from abroad were friendly. However, there are several negatives: 1. We selected several DVDs from the library to watch in the room and most were scratched to the point of not working. We don’t mind not having broadcast TV but that was a bit of an annoyance as there isn’t much to do after sun downs. 2. We expected breakfast to be simple per the reviews - but it was beyond simple. Only one type of bread available and four cereals with plain yogurt and cut fruit. The fruit was just okay. The coffee was absolutely undrinkable the two mornings we had breakfast, and the water for tea was not even hot. Moreover, when we popped in at 9:05 the first morning, one of the staff members said “We were just about to put the breakfast away” -although the breakfast is advertised as ending at 9:30! 3. However the biggest annoyance for us came from the several groups that were staying on site, who were treated much better than we were: a. When we arrived, we found out we could only eat in the restaurant at 7 pm, for a party of three. That was because of the many tour groups who were eating that night earlier. We showed up early in the hopes of getting a table - and while there were plenty available, we were told that we could be seated and have a drink, but we couldn’t order until seven. When we finally ordered, I found out they were out of barramundi because the tour groups had eaten it all. Very disappointing. B. On the last night, we had a few drinks before dinner. Even though they advertise a happy hour, we were relegated to a table by the pool (full of bugs) or a small part of the bar counter due to groups coming in (who we saw getting a welcome drink, something we were not offered). C. Finally on the last morning when I went to check out , groups were already eating BEFORE the advertised 730 start time - and they were enjoying upgraded breakfast options such as sausages and other hot dishes. We would have gladly paid a little extra to have those options! In short , this is a hotel that clearlly prioritizes its tour groups.

A beautiful location. The rooms are old and tired. Some serious maintenance needed on this property. The grounds are lovely although access to the creek is a little dangerous. The room was very dusty. Some lights in the bathroom are missing and 1 was facing upwards as it was loose. Which meant the lighting was poor. The fridge is a small size bar fridge not an under counter size bar fridge. Not much room if you want to take snacks and drinks. The screen for the bathroom was not fixed to the windows so you could not open them for fresh air. The bed was not comfortable but adequate. The pillows were wet. I am guessing this may be a thing in the tropics? We slept on the towels we bought. The entire complex buildings inside and outside need some major TLC. Time spent blowing leaves off paths would have been better spent on maintenance and cleaning.

Gorgeous lodge in the heart of the rainforest. Cabins were very spacious and comfortable, very clean, staff was friendly. The restaurant was a huge surprise – beautiful setting, food was top notch, very well presented and delicious, couple of vegan options, reasonablly priced for the quality of food and service in a remote location. Breakfast was also great with fresh bread every morning, spreads, cereals, yogurt, and a beautiful tropical fruit salad. Location was perfect, halfway between Cape Trib and the ferry which is great at the moment with the roadworks and delays happening. Also saw some cassowary scat (poo!) which means they roam around the lodge! We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place to stay and/or dine.

Last minute booking due to alternative not being available. Location excellent in the rainforest, travelled as a family (boys 12 & 10yrs) easy to find. Note. Once turned off main road short unpaved road to accommodation. Reception was good, hand you a bag with torch & umbrella (take this with you) kids loved the pool. Went down to the creek which was fairly fast flowing due to recent rain so only paddled. Accommodation was sufficient, comfortable large bed (kids beds quite hard) only stayed 1 day/night. Restaurant food was good but expensive, not really any alternative option though. As a whole we had a great overnight rainforest experience.

This place and the people are absolutely stunning. This price is on point and the accommodation is comfortable. Is part of the Earth had been smashed by a cyclone so when we arrived in the Daintree, we were informed that we could not venture to Cape tribulation, which was the whole reason that we came, but the people and the resilience of the local community was definitely a Highpoint Coopers Creek at the back of the accommodation was absolutely stunning and due to the off-season and lack of Other guess at the accommodation, we basically had the place to ourselves Wondering around lazy, checking out the local spots coming back for a beautiful dinner and happy hour drinks.
