They were all connected rooms. After the contact platform was changed, they were still connected rooms. I was very sleepy at night, so I didn’t change them because the people next door were too noisy.

It is a decent hotel and does the job. As a tourist, you get what you need (I am not saying you get what you want!). I was here just for a night on a stopover of more than 24 hours to visit the city of Doha. Location: I wanted a location which was close to a metro station so that I could just use public transport all over my trip. Metro is dead cheap with 6 QAR per day. It is a 3-4 minute walk from a metro station (see the photo). Very convenient and I could go anywhere (touristy) easily from here. Travel from and to the airport was super - it is on the red line which connects the airport. This, along with the price contributed to an extra star in the rating. Price: This was the CHEAPEST by a long way and for the price, it is definitely worth more. It may not be the case on all the days. Room Facilities: You have everything that you normally expect - TV, Water bottles, Coffee, Tea, Kettle, Iron (?) , Slippers, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Shower gel, Shampoo, Conditioner, Body lotion, Shower Cap, Towels, Bed Linen and loads of pillows. All neat and clean! Locker had a warning of low battery and I was afraid it would run out while locked. So, I did not use it. But if I had asked, they probably would have changed the battery. They could do with an extra plug point (or USB port) beside the bed. Room: It is a tad tiny, but not bad by any means. Again the size is okay for two people (I was solo though) to spend a few nights. The bathroom was okay, but was quite old with some broken grout between the tiles etc. But it looked like the cleaners tried their best to make it as clean as possible on a bathroom which had a lot of wear and tear. Again not a deal breaker. Service: I was greeted with a serious hello at the reception, but that's about it. They did what they needed to do and handed me the key. When I asked if there was breakfast available, the answer was it was not included, which I already knew. They redirected me to the desk opposite the reception for me to get an answer to that. The answer was that I needed to order breakfast in advance and they would prepare it for next day morning. That wasn't fun and I ended up having it outside - there are loads of eating places all over the city. Having said that, they are by no means rude - just that there was never a smile on any of the responses. I didn't have to ask for anything else, so can't comment more. Other facilities: I saw directions for gym, night club, pool etc. but I never used any of those, so can't comment on how they are, but they do exist.

**BED BUGS**BED BUGS**BED BUGS DO NOT STAY. This hotel is riddled with bed bugs. They staff are very much aware. When we came down to reception we were offered an alternative room to which we declined and asked for a refund. The receptionist called her manager and told them that we want a refund “because of the bed bugs”. So they were fully away that they have a bed bug problem. Do not stay here they are willingly allowing people to stay in bed bug ridden rooms.

I have been here for about 7 hours and it’s the most horrible hotel stay I have had. We arrived with our kids (as our booking also said we would) and got a room that had a really bad sigarete smell. We got a new room, but there is no sleeping in here as the nightclub music is SO SO LOUD. I have called and hotel told me it would stop at 00:00 but it’s 00:30 and the party is still going. Would never recommend this hotel.

The positives: affordable compared to many other hotels, close to a metro station, a supermarket and the airport, rooms were decently sized and okay clean (apart from some bathroom mold). Staff was overall quite friendly. The negatives: it is a very dated hotel, giving a bit of a 90s vibe, and there are quite a few signs of wear and tear. The rooms smell of smoke, not extremely so but enough to be noticeable. And you will hear yours neighbours’ wake-up alarms, strange noises from the plumbing, as well as the highway outside. But even worse than that, they have a nightclub and you will here the bass pumping in your room regardless which floor you are on. Sometimes the bed even vibrated a bit. I was offered another room in the smoking area because of this ( I declined), and the staff promised to speak to the night club and then get back to me (they didn’t) I would not quote Warwick and call this an “Upscale Hotel”, it does not even suffice if you want to get some sleep. This gets one star from a European/Nordic perspective, but as it was my first Qatari hotel I do not know how commonplace these things are there.

Very tiny room. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke; this made it difficult to get sleep. There is very limited car parking inside the hotel premises. The location is very good, near the airport, and the metro station is very close to the hotel.

I chose this hotel because of my one night layover in Doha. I stayed only one night, but it was not the best experience. The room was nice, but the amenities in the bathroom were quite old. The check-in was quick, but I received confusing instructions regarding a taxi to the airport. There is no sound proof so you can hear all the guests talking and walking around. At 5 o'clock in the morning, some drunk individuals was smoking, triggering a fire alarm that kept going on and off. Was unpleasant to see none of the hotel personal taking any actions regarding this. It’s a budget-friendly option for a night in Doha, but I would definitely search for another place with better value.

I stayed at the hotel during the World Cup and it was sorely under par. The food was poor. The receptionists were peculiar - sometimes helpful and friendly, sometimes they behaved strangely. The overall feel of the hotel is that it was probably modern about 30 years ago. Lots of wood panelling and giant mirrors. It has a strange smell. There's a nightclub on the roof that plays ear-splittingly loud music, which obviously can be heard down into the hotel floors. The lights in the communal areas are extreme and intense - you'll feel like you're under cross examination at all times. When I heard we'd been booked into a 'four-star hotel in Doha' I had imagined it would be if not opulent then at least of a high standard. When you actually get into the city (this hotel is about 20 minutes out of the city on the tube), you realise that the Strato is in an area which has been surpassed by the more central / coastal places, which can boast the opulence I'd hoped for from the Strato.

The location is very suitable to go either to the airport or the city centre, since it's close to the metro. The amenities were rather good and for a very reasonable price, I tried everything except for the restaurant. The service is impeccable, but my absolute favourite was the swimming pool and its lifeguard, John. He is the sweetest guy you'll ever meet, I genuinely enjoyed our chat while I stayed there and I appreciated his kindness and professionalism.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel and couldn't be happier with the experience. The staff's warm and welcoming attitude created a wonderful atmosphere. The central location made exploring the city a breeze and the hotel's commitment to cleanliness and safety measures
