Just arrived. Love it. Friendly reception staff. Central location. The inside balcony amazing. Lovely big rooms. Why do spoilt ****** pick fault. Make your own damn bed. We loved the art deco elegance of the hotel. Thank you for a lovely time.

The hotel was much better than I expected. The room was spacious and clean and well appointed, the breakfast was very good and well attended by hotel staff who were friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience and one I shall repeat in the near future.

We will not be returning to the Sefton. Listed as a 4 star but I would say a bad 3 star. Very tired, tatty, old furniture, not fit for, windows not maintained. The only window which opened in our room was open 6 inches at the bottom and was jammed. The windows in our room were so large it was like a greenhouse even with the curtains closed… a blind would be helpful. Must be an old water leak of some kind in the room as there was water damage to wall and ceiling with paint bubbling up and falling off. Shower head leaking and water running down back of wall tiles, with musty smelly curtain and no ventilation. Room service is every 3rd full day and did not include making the bed. However the Reception staff and waiting staff were all very helpful and friendly. The Breakfast was excellent. The Bonsai restaurant and bar are independent from the hotel. We ate in The Bonsai and it was very good. The Pool was open from 8 until 8 … used it once…. Needs some tlc and ventilation.

The hotel was very nice ,I like the statue of Norman Wisdom .the room was lovely I love the view of the sea .The bed was very comfortable .I love the fridge & water & biscuits .I love the bath was separate from the shower The people were in the hotel were very nice .i love the breakfast the porridge was delicious ,a good choices of cold food & hot .Now the negative why it didn’t get the full stars .i didn’t like the room not clean unless you were there for more days than 3 which I only there for , i know that during the pandemic that was the policy not to clean the room but I would like the bin empty ,they say you can ask for it done but one day I did ask for more water which I didn’t get so because of that I felt I would not bother them to ask to clean my room .You can see they are try to do it up special in Sir Norman restaurant which is a bar too but I feel it is more a bar than a restaurant there was only bar food there except I heard on a Sunday you can get a cavalry , I got a curry there which was delicious & ice cream .It is near the Gaiety theatre , went to their musical We will rock it .The hotel not that bad at all not like some of the reviews like to make it up to be .So if you want a little bit luxurious the hotel is for you

A spacious very well located hotel in the old style, typical of resorts like Douglas. Our room was large, comfortable and clean with a desk and settee; the decor is a bit dated, but in keeping with the character both of the hotel and Douglas itself. Good size well fitted bathroom and an attractive balcony overlooking an attractive plant filled atrium. Breakfast was good with a very good choice of hot buffet, cereals, fruits, pastries. The staff are friendly and helpful. Although we did not use them, there is a pool and gym.

I had stayed, at the Sefton in the Atrium rooms, lots of times over the years with work, and I thought it would be a nice birthday treat to book one of these rooms as a surprise for my husbands birthday, how wrong was I. Room had ripped and threadbare carpet, toilet seat been put on incorrectly, my husband fixed it, furniture very tired and dated, which all could have been overlooked as to not spoil the weekend, but.... Sir Norman's Bar having work done, builders tools everywhere, like a worksite, furniture piled up, leather chair I sat on was peeling and ended up stuck to my dress, not informed prior to stay that there would be a work in progress in the bar. Woken @ 6.15am by two people fighting effing and blinding, one saying they had been hit, everyone out on the opposite side of atrium rooms as noise was so loud , flagged these issues up and was answered by Senior Ops Manager @ the Palace Hotel & ****** (sister hotel) to say a blind person had woken up scared and was screaming , so the neighbouring room had been banging on the door to see what was happening, two ladies at breakfast said that was the third morning that there had been fighting from the same room. I find the response offensive as I am not a liar and although there may have been an incident with a blind person? But what we were woken by (2 doors away from our room) was most definitely two people screaming & shouting at each other in-between swearing and one saying they had been hit, and one of them kicking the door in to get back in! On checking out we were sat in reception and heard two other people saying about the showers being cold, and told they have to let them run for 5 mins to warm up as it's due to the positioning of the boiler taking time to get the hot water to the shower, we seen them outside and they said they were disgusted how a basic thing as having a shower could be dismissed with such an explanation. This is not the Sefton of old, not value for money with our particular room & experience.

We stayed for 9 nights especially for TT race week. So we didn't mind paying £3200 as everything is expensive during this time. We had a atrium room which was dirty and no view. The room was big but felt like I was on the set of fawlty towers. The bed wasn't made at all during our stay housekeeping just replenished toiletroll and emptied bins. The bathroom smelt of a sewer at all times, I had brown sludge come out of bath tap and no shower curtain in shower cubicle. One day housekeeping actually left our room unlocked after she had been in to do nothing! And we were out all day. Luckily nothing was taken. Overall I found staff friendly and breakfast was good thankgod. Given what we paid it would be overpriced at £1000 and we paid alot more. I have no idea where the refurb was because it all looked run down and not pleasant place to be. We were there for TT so that kept our minds happy. But I wouldn't waste money on this hotel. Pictures on website are not what you get. Very disappointing

Staff okay but the whole place is very tired. They charge hotel paying customers for parking their cars in the hotel car park but do not advertise the fact. Outrageous. Complained to the owners but totally ignored. Never again. It is such a shame as the IOM is a lovely place.

Typically British seaside hotel - lovely reception area but some areas in need of a spruce-up. Our room, 221, was clean and tidy but very dingy i.e. dark as the two windows were not only opaque but looked out onto brick walls. Bathroom was huge but needed upgrading. On the positive side, the breakfasts were excellent as were the staff. The location is very good too - the town end of the esplanade. The adjoining pub, Sir Norman's, (undergoing refurb atm) was handy for a drink and good bar snacks. The cafe next door to the Gaiety Theatre (adjacent to the hotel) was very good for snacks and delicious ice cream and friendly staff.
