This place was spectacular, we loved it. The way things are run and organized is seamless. We were greeted at the beach after a fascinating boat ride from Sierpe. Our luggage was delivered to our room/treehouse while we were met with a welcome drink and information from Albert, the manager, on what we could expect for our stay and what was coming up. The property is beautiful, quiet, well cared for, so befitting of the area. The views were terrific from everywhere. The staff was immediately attentive and friendly, the restaurant staff (David, Alonso, Daniel) knew our names and learned our preferences on day one. I really appreciated the level of service we received from everyone on staff. Meals and drinks were fresh and flavorful, snacks were available for order throughout the day. The two tours we took were well-guided and really well organized—to Corcovado NP (many animals, birds, insects) and Cano island for snorkeling. Small groups, great information. Each was a great experience…bucket list for us. Glad we brought binoculars. All in all this was a really special experience for us certainly due to the unique location, but the service and facilities really put it over the top. We will be back.

I loved everything about Copa de Arbol! It’s so romantic to arrive by boat and see the thatched roof of the lodge and cabins through the lush forest. The large, air conditioned rooms are each individually decorated with Balinese touches. And the food was delicious! Each meal felt curated specifically for me taking into account my dietary preferences and restrictions. Each member of the restaurant wait staff and the chef were exceptional. More than anything else, the sincere warmth friendliness and professionalism of the Copa staff is what sets this intimate hotel apart. I recommend this hotel highly and hope to return next year.

My wife and I enjoyed three nights at this wonderful hotel on the Osa peninsula. The staff were fantastic, nothing too much trouble, and hugely efficient. The food was terrific and never over facing. The room was beautiful, spacious and well appointed. The hotel organised everything for us with professionalism and charm. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

From the moment you arrive, greeted by the ever-friendly staff (Albert), to the departing boat ride, you are treated like life long friends. The list of people who took care of us for 5 nights is too long to mention but our family will never forget them and the amazing time we had at Copa de Arbol. The food is amazing. Our tours to Cano Island and to the national park were both outstanding. Monkeys will entertain you right outside your well appointed villas. And some stray dogs might even adopt you for a couple of days. Some tips, at least from our perspective. We stayed for 5 nights and I think that was the perfect amount of time. The trip via boat from Sierpe was very cool. It’s about 1.5 hours through the Sierpe River and then out into the Pacific and then the wet landing at the resort. The wet landing is completely safe. I noticed others comment that it was dangerous to leave the engine running while people left the boat, but they must not have realized that the engine can run without the prop spinning and there is absolutely nothing unsafe about the wet landing. The point where the river meets the sea was a bit rough, but exciting and the captain made sure that everyone wore their life vest. It’s an early to bed, early to rise type place so don’t expect nightlife or a bar scene or anything of that nature. The various sounds of the jungle will put you to sleep and wake you up. The air conditioning worked perfectly and the WiFi was reliable. The food is spectacular and the staff take notice after only a few meals of the preferences of the guests. Use your dessert spoon for the soup by accident? No problem. There will be a dessert spoon magically served with your dessert without asking! The service is personalized without being intrusive. The resort also seems to be managed incredibly efficiently. The grounds and pool are cleaned top to bottom multiple times per day. They literally think of everything to make you comfortable. We can’t wait to be back!

The team at Copa De Arbol really make the place outstanding. Yes, the grounds and accommodations are magnificent. Without the people running the establishment to make the stay beyond expectations and way out of the ordinary it would not be possible to give this destination a 5+ rating. Above and beyond, the restaurant, where an extraordinary amount of time is spent, seeing as they prepare 3 meals a day for you in addition to happy hour, Greiven, Esteban, Henry, and the remaining crew, Mumwah! You spoiled me more than you know...The kitchen crew, thank you for accommodating my dietary needs, best gluten free bread ever, among EVERY single amazing entre' thoroughly enjoyed the food. We were very busy only stayed 4 nights with a planned activity every day. The guides who freelanced for the resort were carefully hand picked, you could tell they had passion for every adventure. We enjoyed every single outing and the attention paid to all the details by the guides. We did the Corcovado hike, night hike, waterfall hike and river swim and the Cano Island snorkel all of which we would say were excellent, we would probably do them all again except for the night hike, not a fan of spiders. The boat captains Francisco and Carlos are wonderful, they handle your luggage with great care and the waves and boat with expertise. We were (our fault) late leaving the island for our flight and thanks to the boat captains getting us to the other side without a hitch, we made the airport with 5 minutes to spare! I'd also like to mention the reservation expert, Summer. She was fantastic, answered so many questions in advance and really made the logistical planning with small plane, river crossing in car and then the boat to the island feel like nothing but another adventure. It was so nice to be prepared with the knowledge upfront with small things like take the early morning flight to Drake Bay. This was a girlfriends trip, without the husbands and what an adventure. I normally do not go back to the same place twice. However, I know there will be a return trip on the horizon and perhaps stay 5 nights at this location so we can rest at least once!

Like landing on the shores of Jurassic Park. This small hotel tends to your every need. The staff go above and beyond to bring good memories. The guided trips we’re worth every penny. Anthony brought us to gorgeous coral beds. We swam amidst hawkebilled giant sea turtles! Twice they surfaced for air and gracefully swam less than a foot away from me. I memory I will treasure about Copa de Arcol, Cano Is and Corcovado. Issac did our Corcovado park tour. We saw scores of spider monkeys , howler monkeys, wild boar, various birdlife. Thankfully no snakes. We were lucky as we met the nicest couples sitting around the pool after our morning trips. The pools and hotub are serene and stunningly set in the jungle. You pull a conch shell and one of the staff come to assist you. I will say for me and my knees I hand difficulty with our room because it was on 2 floors and the steep stairs. Their are bungalows with just one floor and others with 2. This was the last available. The bed was much too firm for me as well. They didn’t have toppers which I suggest they buy for people like myself who don’t like rigid beds. Alexander brought me several doubled blanket to help soften the surface! Thank you A! The food was just ok and I expected more for the prices we paid I will say The fish was wonderful!! So fresh and flavourful. Chicken no so. I think they get their supplies every few days. But if the meal was just ok their staff made up for it. Greivan whipped up this terrific salad dressing brought a few extra shrimp which I loved. All the wait staff were terrific! Henry, Greivan, gosh too many too name. My apologies. Bryan at reception always was there to help with all matters! In fact I was hesitant to go snorkeling as we’d just come back from Vietnam and had got severe sea sickness in thé water. But the guests were coming back saying we had really missed out. Bryan called Sansa himself and managed to arrange for us to take a later plane so we could take the snorkeling trip before leaving that day. Were so glad he did! Check out the local potters work next the the entrance! I’d highly recommend this lovely jungle hotel!

This is our second time at Copa de Arbol. We booked February 2026 before we left. Travelling all over the world we have stayed at wonderful lodges, hotels, ranches and enjoyed scenic and wildlife experiences. Copa de Arbol is our favorite. Why our favorite? Simply said it is the people who work at Copa de Arbol. They are the most wonderful, caring, gracious, loving people.

My husband and I stayed here during high season and loved every minute. Perfect weather, beautiful accommodations (we stayed in the Palm villa) and truly amazing wildlife. The location feels like a dream - with pelicans swooping low across the water, herons perched in front of you while you dine, monkeys swinging and jumping in the tree canopies. :) The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating with exceptional service that makes the resort feels like home. Naturalist guides were wonderful - we did a trip to Corcovado and a night hike during our short stay. We felt entirely safe and well prepared for both, and saw a diversity of wildlife that far exceeded our hopes, including humpback whales on our boat transfer, a tapir, boa, sloths, monkeys, peccaries, trogons and plenty more - even spotted a kinkajou on our night tour! We hope to be back - this is a very special place!
