Stayed 2 nights in Savannah Cabins within Taronga Western Plain Zoo compound. The cabin we stayed had 2 bedrooms , 2 bathrooms and all basic amenities. In the evening, Kangaroos would roam near the cabins and also you can see Giraffes / Zebra faraway in Savannah lands. Cabins to Zoo main gate in few mins drive.

We booked the package that included the accommodation and zoo entry. We loved both experiences. The zoo was a lot of fun! We hired an electric cart and had a lot of fun riding around to see the animals in that. The Savannah cabins were amazing. We loved the layout of the cabin, the fact that there were two bathrooms and even a bath, the beds were super comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked so we were able to cook our own dinner. The kids loved the playground outside and the kangaroos hopping around. You could also walk over to the safari area to see all the animals. If you're planning on visiting, you need a car to get from the zoo to the cabins but it's just a short drive up the road.

Highly recommend the Savannah cabins for families. They were so comfortable and spacious. Two full bathrooms, comfy beds and pillows. The views were gorgeous and we could even see the giraffes and rhinos from our bed which was so unexpected. The playground is an added bonus that the kids loved. So much room for them to explore and run and play. Access to the zoo was just a 1 minute drive down the road so it was perfect! Can’t wait to go back!

Our stay at Savannah cabins could not have been better. From helpfulness of staff to proximity to the zoo, these cabins are simple but very comfortable.

The view, the silence, the stars, the animals and the Taronga staff.. one of the most memorable things done with my family!! The price point made this very appealing option compared to the rest of the options in the nearby vicinity. The playground and the seating facilities made it a complete family friendly location that has everything for everyone!

We had a great stay at the cabins. There are only two reasons why it doesn’t get 5 star for us. 1. Check in. You have to check in at the zoo between 2 and 4. It’s just a bit inconvenient. I can imagine this would be more of an issue when the zoo is busy. Our kids were cooked after a big day and just wanted to chill out. But we had to go back to the zoo, line up, etc. 2. A pool! After a hot day walking, exploring the animals, it would be wonderful to get home and have a swim.

Was expecting a higher quality of accommodation since it is run by the zoo, but was a bit disappointed. No WiFi (didn’t even appear on the network search) as advertised during booking. Don’t know how long the floor has not been mopped for - my kids were running around with socks on, and their socks turned black after a short while The bath tub was slippery to stand on - one of my kids fell and the other had several near missed. Luckily didn’t hit the head. Linen looked clean A little dusty

The cabins are nicely nestled a short distance away from the main entrance of the zoo. It was very comfortable to stay in and not too far away from the nearby shops. The only issues I had were no Wi-Fi connection despite it being advertised as available, no after hours contact, some food wrappers left (from the previous guests), and gravel road that could chip away the paint of your car.

Well. What a letdown this place was. Location is average, out the back of the zoo in a paddock with abit of an average playground if yours call it that. The layout of the cabins are good. However it’s Dubbo with 40 degree heat days with only an aircon in the main room. NOT the bedrooms, it was like staying in a sauna. For the price you pay it needs aircon everywhere. Phones wouldn’t even charge in the night as it was to hot with a warning on the screens. The next issue was the lack of cleaning, the place was filthy. Everything was dirty. Benches, cutlery, bathrooms, floors, kettle was rusty. I honestly think it’s the worst place I have ever staying in, and the price we paid was horrible. Yes we complained and was basically told by a lady the cleaners don’t do what they are meant to. We tell them All the time sorry! NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
