Scenic Hotel Dunedin City Reviews

Paid extra to upgrade to sea facing executive but could not get our room at official check in. Parking was secured and good. Breakfast is ok.

Room is very clean and very well presented. Bed is very soft and comfortable. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. The location is perfect, walking distance to the city. The only downside is the parking as you need to book a head of time due to limited space but it would be more convenient to all having its parking available. Otherwise our stay was absolutely 👍🏻 .😊

I rarely write negative reviews, but I couldn't resist this one. It was the first time I stayed in a hotel and there was no parking space (the underground parking lot was closed and I asked to go to the front desk. My wife went to the front desk and saw a white person. She said it was full and asked us to find parking spaces by ourselves. She also said very confidently that there was no parking outside on weekends. After collecting the money, we searched outside for half an hour before we found a parking space). The first time I stayed at the hotel to store my luggage when I checked out (9:00-11:00), they charged me a storage fee of $4. They just took my luggage. Just take it off to a luggage room within 5 meters.

Dunedin is a small town, and it's easy to walk and drive around. The window sill is facing the church⛪️, and I also took a time-lapse video. Although there is no breakfast, the hotel service staff is very friendly and guides us to park🅿️~

I booked an executive king twin room. Ctrip said it had two 1.7-meter twin beds, but in reality it was only a 1.5-meter bed. Ctrip offered compensation, but the hotel said it didn’t know and said all their twin beds were the same size. I think the hotel was Irresponsible, they should be held responsible for their own misidentification on the platform. I asked for an extra bed for free and he refused, but later I contacted Ctrip to solve the problem. Ctrip asked him to give me an extra bed before he succeeded. So the hotel was very insincere. The waiters I met in the corridor ignored the guests and seemed very rude. This room type comes with an outdoor terrace, which feels great. It's very close to the church train station. I went to a Chinese restaurant called Zhou Ji xx, which tasted good.

Dunedin is very beautiful, but the hotel is not worth the price, a bit expensive! There is a beautiful church nearby and the room is quite comfortable, but the view from the room is so-so!

Check in was very fast and right in the city center

The room is big, the ceiling is high, and the location is in the city center, close to the First Church and Dunedin Railway Station. The hotel is a bit old, but the overall maintenance is good.
