Had booked for 3 nights, well in advance for business meetings. I arrived at 11pm to check-in, to be told that the hotel was overbooked, and I had to go to another Marriott hotel. Whilst discussing this, three more guests arrived to check-in, and all had rooms available. I was given no explanation about reasons for picking me to be moved, and no explanation why they did not inform me in advance. The receptionist was polite, but unable to do anything except pass on the message that I had no room. I was transferred by taxi to another Marriott somewhere in Dusseldorf. Check-in there was delayed by a discussion about which hotel was going to pay my taxi fare. Have stayed in the Hafen hotel before, and it is pretty good - nearby some decent restaurants - but it is going to be difficult to return after this experience.

I’ve stayed at many Marriott Courtyard properties over the years, and this is undoubtedly the nicest version of this Marriott brand that I’ve ever stayed at. The hotel feels more like a Marriott than a Courtyard, with a nice bar and restaurant and outstanding service. The location in the harbor area offers a nice setting with views of the Rhine River and ample dining options. It’s also an easy walk to the Old Town area, where we visited the Düsseldorf Christmas markets. A special shout out to the staff, particularly Kevin and Jessica who helped make our stay particularly enjoyable. If we’re in Düsseldorf again, we’ll definitely stay here.

This hotel is a bit strange, lackluster, and has a feeling of desertedness. Young man who checked me in was very unpersonal, bit robotic. Lady at front desk was more friendly as were some other staff. Staff at breakfast and bar also okay. Knew it wasn't near the city center, but had hoped for a more energetic place as has been my experience at the Courtyard Marriott (in other international cities). Quite the opposite. Room faced brick wall and I paid full price. I stayed several nights and there was limited customer service. Housekeeping was a joke! The room was spacious, but then again, this was paid for. To end on a positive note, when checking out, I noticed the complimentary fruit and juice in the lobby which is a nice touch.

The staff are not experienced in customer service. Not at all friendly or helpful. The room I had was facing a brick wall & the decor was dull & uninviting. The awful & dated bathrooms have been mentioned previously. There was nobody to help take my bags to my room. The hotel itself is located on the hafen but it is on a dead end fork of the harbour. It is a long 25 minute walk to the old town or you have to take two trams. Taxi was easier but obviously more expensive. The breakfast/dining room was dark & uninspiring. Judging by the price I paid, I mistakenly thought that breakfast was included, but it wasn’t so I went to the Hyatt Regency a few minutes walk away & had a wonderful dining experience there. I would advise not to stay at this hotel. If you do, you will be disappointed. There are other hotels in the hafen area which charge the same or less but offer much more.

This was our 3rd stay while my husband was in Dusseldorf on business. We were so pleased to see some of the staff was back after Covid, as they always make our stay so pleasant. Zeinab is the hostess with the mostest, and Marcel and Tommy are excellent chefs, serving a delicious breakfast. Tommy even made me a special little cake for my birthday! Every evening Sabina, who has a winning personality, would serve us drinks at the bar and dinner a couple of evenings. Everyone goes out of their way to meet our needs and make us feel welcome. The hotel is very comfortable with every amenity needed. The location is close to several excellent restaurants, a little market, and a lovely walk to sit alongside the Rhine River. The Altstadt is a little bit of a trek but very doable. If you need an excellent taxi driver, have the desk staff call Mahmud.

hotel located in As Seestern, business area of Dusseldorf. Comfortable hotel and rooms, good breakfast and smiling service. Restaurant for dinner is ok. They offer fruit for free in reception and give you a route for jogging. Good choice for business

I think I got an upgrade since I had a view of the water, but the room was a great size and the hotel is in a perfect location. The staff was super nice, and I loved the snack bar. lol I had breakfast most mornings and it was good enough. Overall I would stay here again.

Breakfast chef and waitress very happy and welcoming. Breakfast buffet is very limited with not enough choices.Eggs chef is a very nice option but the rest was not good enough. 24 euro for 2 fried eggs and some bacon is a lot. Bar should stay open longer at night. The wellness center very neglected and unwelcoming. Needs a multi machine with a bench press. The sauna very neglected with broken dispensers, broken lockers. After i finished and showered had to walk almost barefoot back to the room as no slippers or Robe. I was in 302 very spacious room. Wifi was very good. Water pressure was very good and quality soap. With a few improvements you can do a lot better.
