The welcome at the hotel on checking in was excellent. The receptionist provided us with all the information we required and made us feel very welcome. The bedroom was well appointed and extremely clean - housekeeping had done a 1st class job. The mattress wasn't to our liking. The bathroom was spotless and the shower had a wonderful water pressure. The restaurant team were also very welcoming and provided a pleasant atmosphere for both evening meals and breakfast. There was a good selection to choose from both for breakfast and from the restaurant menu. There was also a good offering for a takeaway breakfast or pack lunch options - although we didn't take advantage of either of these. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Very tasty food indeed. I had the mussels and they were delicious. I had the chicken with cabbage and dauphinois potatoes. That was also delicious. The house red was 10% which is pretty bad for a red wine. You expect at last 12% or more for a house red at that price.

Called into hotel for coffee and make dinner reservation .we’re so impressed with all the staff we interacted with .reception ,dining. Bar. Each member of staff was incredibly friendly and attentive .we were so I,pressed with our first visit we asked reception to show us available rooms with intention to return to stay for couple of nights .Receptionist was so incredibly helpful and attentive despite having been approached while having her own lunch .She immediately gave priority to giving us her full attention. Hotel was very smart and welcoming with extremely pleasant outdoor garden and impressed us as very desirable place to stay for a short break

We had our wedding in the Eglinton Arms in 1974 and decided to have a big party there for our Golden Wedding. The hotel was great back then but nothing could surpass the experience we’ve just had! Gorgeous function suite, delicious and beautifully presented buffet commented on by many of our guests. The staff were so friendly and helpful and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The band Eriskay Lilt (recommended by the hotel) were brilliant too. Would highly recommend for any type of function. Well done the Eg!

Initial room was noisy and only had a roof light rather than a window, I was given another room for the subsequent night which was comfortable and quiet. Cooked breakfast was a little disappointing particularly scrambled eggs. Poached eggs excellent though.
