Alexandra Hotel

We’ve just returned from a lovely stay at The Alexandra Hotel. We were made to feel very much at ease, nothing was a problem. Winston the manager wasn’t there, but ‘Einstein’ was, he couldn’t have done any more to make us feel so welcome, a very special man. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable with a partial sea view. We were served very good breakfasts with plenty of coffee. The Alexandra is very well placed with easy access to the seafront, The Wish Tower, The Towner art gallery and plenty of restaurants and cafes. The parking was easy and we had a reduced fee permit from the hotel. We would love to return,

Courteous staff, warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect, minutes from the Towner Gallery, Winter Garden, theatre and cinema. and a short walk to the pier and bandstand. We had a nice clean, newly decorated room with a full sea view. It was tempting to spend the whole morning sipping tea and gazing at the view. I had the best night's sleep in months!

We decided to treat ourselves last minute and I'm so glad we popped into the Alexandra on the off chance that they had a room. I believe its recently been revamped and I couldn't fault it. We were lucky enough to get a room with a sea view, it was spacious and comfortable. The bar staff were very friendly. I would definitely visit again.

Lovely hotel. Had an issue in my room(no cold water in the shower, it was dealt with straight away. Staff are also great, nothing is too much trouble for them. Would recommend and I'm looking forward to returning. Parking is also at a very reduced rate just over 2 quid, and you can stop outside the hotel

Front of house really need to step up. Never known a hotel where you had to pre-order what you wanted for breakfast the night before! Early finish too, 0900am because ‘the chef finishes’! Breakfast room had sea views and light but very dull.Rooms were clean but shower flooded the bathroom and you could just about get onto the toilet it was so tight. Guest parking ticket £3.00 even though it said £2.00 on the ticket? Bar area looked completely uninviting.

Had a wonderful stay here at the Alexeandra , staff were so friendly and accommodating. Clean, fresh rooms with ocean views and a peaceful night's sleep. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a nice break away. It's one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at in a while the hospitality is 10/10.

Given the ground floor 1st room . The shower only have very hot water . Room Heater is not working . So here I was .. only boiling water in the bathroom. The cold water tap ( mixer tap) is not working and freezing cold in the room . If possible , please dont stay here. Whole place smell of paint. Not worth the money . Choose this place only if you are really desperate. Rooms are very small .

The hotel went steeply downhill. It was significantly less accommodating than our previous trips, it didn't respond to our emails and phone calls, so we had to book online. We added our requests to the booking, but they weren't addressed. The real shock came when we arrived there. No staff, no bar, no food, no breakfast. The room was in a state of disrepair, with hair in the shower, dirty mirror and a lot of dust on the furniture. The toilet bin hadn't been taken away since the previous guests' stay. Stains on the towels. We called the reception to request new towels, but no one answered. The shower was either warm or boiling water, which seems to be a recurring issue that no one is particularly concerned about. The only positive aspect was the view from the room. During our checkout, the receptionist appeared as if we were disturbing her with our presence. Last summer, we visited twice due to our fondness for the hotel, and the lovely experience we had, but we won't be returning again. It's such a shame.
