This is an older motel, which isn’t necessarily bad but it needs lots of updating. The owner said he bought it 6 months ago. Basic things would help like fresh caulk in the tub, checking the room for spiders before a guest arrives. The room didn’t even have a box of tissues, so we had to use TP to remove the spiders we found. The bed was comfortable and you can’t beat the location but I wouldn’t stay here again.

A very dated motel. Bathrooms and showers updated and clean. Rooms and beds dated. Not uncomfortable, but no pillow tops here. Mostly, the motel has a very campground feel. No grass. Just trees and a wooded feel. Each room has its own outdoor table and chairs. Ice machine and free coffee. As long as you dont have sophisticated coffee needs. Friendly staff. Quiet at night. Room a/c units satisfactory.

While conveniently located, this large property is run down and dirty. Some units appear to be more recently built, while several appear to be part of the original motel, possibly built in the 1950s. The entire property would benefit from a good pressure washing and trim. My unit had spider webs and dust all over ancient grass cloth wall covering. Laminate floor was creaky, loose and heaving under area rug. While the floors, bathroom and linens were clean, the windows were filthy and one was badly cracked, but patched together with tape! Uncomfortable bed, and just 2 old canvas captains chairs to sit on. Thin walls and noisy neighbors. Called manager to say I was leaving early and why, requested partial refund, left message……never called me back. Don’t know who is writing all these 5 star reviews, but hard to believe they stayed in my unit. If you’re looking for old, charming Cape Cod….you can do better.

I loved Midway's setting so much that I moved to the same neighborhood. Not only are the rooms a beautifully-preserved example of mid-century Cape design (updated with high-end linens and beds), but this is one of the last properties on Cape that has preserved their standing white oaks and avoided over-expanding their parking lot. This is important for two reasons: First of all, the whole property is about five degrees cooler in the summer than it is in town. Second of all, the gravel parking area, picnic tables, and private patios are bathed in dappled light all day. Finally, you are surrounded by Scarlet Tanagers, Red-eyed Vireos, and other songbirds until dusk, when the Whip-poor-wills start singing (at least in June). You don't hear route 6. This is THE ONLY motel in eastham out of the 4 that I have stayed in where you don't hear route 6. This review is specifically prompted by the other most recent review, who somehow objected to there being lots of trees on the property-- a philistine. Midway is clean as a whistle, and there is nothing "campground" about it.

Made another visit to the Midway Motel and as always hated to leave. Set back from the road in a park-like tree-filled spot, it is truly relaxing. All of the rooms have nautical names and are clean, modern, and comfortable. Sally is a welcoming host and the rates are very reasonable! Looking forward to our return next year.

I was looking for an out of the way/mom and pop kind of motel for our trip to the Cape, when I came across the Midway Motel. The website made it look like a cute motel tucked off of HWY 6 and seemed to fit the bill. Before our arrival, the owner Alan even called and checked on us to let us know our room was ready and where to get the key. The property was very quiet, nicely located in Eastham which was a good location where you could drive 40 minutes North to P-town and 40 minutes South to Sandwich or Hyannis. The Cod has a ton you can do with a family. We used the motel to take a shower and sleep... ...and now for something completely different. I didn't see one motel office clerk or housekeeping the entire stay of 3 nights (owner was reachable by phone). The rooms and property reflected that. The pictures on the site are older because bushes and such are overgrown. Most things look dated. The rooms are dark, cobwebs in the corners, behind lights, sand/dirt/hair left behind in corners and along walls from previous guests. Some areas of the rooms had wallpaper peeling, especially the bathroom where you could see mold behind the wallpaper. The room also had an A/C unit in the window that didn't look like it had been cleaned because it also had mold. Overall, I am glad I brought disinfecting wipes. The owners might be nice, but being nice doesn't do anything to clean up the rooms and property.
