Our family of four spent a magical 4 nights at Kambaku River Lodge. Our daily safaris with Kambaku River Lodge's own guide, Elvis, were superb, he is so knowledgeable and a fantastic spotter. Kambaku River Lodge's location positioned on the Crocodile Riverbank and facing the KNP, also provided us with a daily dose of watching elephants, hippos, impala, crocodiles and birds visiting the river. We enjoyed sundowners around our private fire pit every evening, followed by delicious dinners served to our lodge. My family loved every moment of our luxury experience with Kambaku River Lodge, and we've made wonderful memories to treasure.

My flight home from Jo’burg was cancelled, so I needed to book a last-minute trip somewhere around Kruger National Park. Kambaku fitted the bill, and I had a very good stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the food was great, and my guides knew their stuff.

I stayed at this property in April 2024 for 3 nights. I cannot fault the property. The rooms are top class, the food is 5 star quality and the staff are so focussed on delivering 5/5 customer service. The location could not be better, facing the Kruger National Park. You can see elephants, hippos and many other species on the riverbank adjacent to the property. If you are considering a top quality lodge with impeccable customer service you need to look no further. I wholeheartedly recommend this property. Keep up the good work guys,

When you dream about a trip for decades, it might be hard to meet the vision you've imagined. Kambaku River Lodge exceeded every expectation, providing us with the most magical week on safari. The lodge is immaculate, the staff is kind and hospitable, and the views are astonishing. The owner and managers are passionate about wildlife and hospitality, and it is evident in every corner of the lodge. We loved sitting outside listening to the hippos call all day, watching the elephants, crocodiles, fish eagles, kingfishers, and many kinds of antelope come down to the river. The most delicious dinners were delivered each evening by the fire to the beat of drums with the docile yet curious nyala watching nearby. We went on game drives most days. Elvis, the lodge's full-time private guide, is the best of the best. He is incredibly knowledgeable and there was not one animal we spotted before he did. We saw the Big 5 and wildlife galore on each of our drives. The lodge packs a delicious breakfast or a bag of snacks to take on your drive. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are beautiful. Service is impeccable. Thank you, Kambaku, for the safari delivered to us straight out of a dream. We hope we can visit again one day.

The location is wonderful with game regularly visiting the river from the Kruger opposite. When we arrived, about a dozen elephant were wading across and hippo were wallowing. The rooms each have their own private terraces where fires are lit each night, and open up into a lovely common area where birds and the 3 incumbent nyala are encouraged. Meals are served on your terrace, ask if you want tea or coffee delivered with breakfast rather than make your own from the room tray. Rooms are comfortable, it's about 15min drive to Melelane gate.

Excellent place to stay, Accommodation, staff, scenery was lovely. The views were spectacular and to see the various animals by Crocodile River was amazing. The staff were all lovely, and on hand if needed. And having the Spa threatments were a bonus, which we all enjoyed. We enjoyed two safari’s during our stay and saw the big 5 and many others, thanks to the expertise of Elvis the guide. A special thank you to Leanne, Dennis, Luke and Anzelle and all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

The Kambaku River Lodge experience was wonderful. We had a lovely private chalet with visiting animals in the back, and a family of elephants drinking out of the pool. It was an off season, so there weren't many of us here. The food was quite good, but not as much variety, likely do to the low occupancy. The game drives were spectacular, with many of the other vehicles in the area help track down the most elusive of animals...including a pride of lions mating in the middle of the road, and a rare cheetah sighting. One note. The game drives are very early, with brunch served at 10 am and dinner after the afternoon drive. That made for a lot of "down time" during the day.
