Mooi gelegen, ietwat verouderd hotel. Mooie ruime kamet, zeer rustig, maar piepkleine, wat muf ruikende badkamer en geen koelkast in de kamer. Het hotel ligt mooi bovenop de berg, maar ver van het centrum, 1 Km bergaf en daarna weer bergop 😫 Ontbijt ok, wel veel voorverpakte dingen (choco, jam, ...), lekkere koffie uit automaat.

The most deceiving hotel experience: the room was without blinds or airco (too dry air), strong old odour, poor breakfast and no room service or food in the evening. Also hotel tried to charge extra 50(!)euro for a child bed which was included in the booking price and offered no apologies when the issue was finally settled… poor service for a wonderful location with great views

We arrived from a 10 hour flight, then travelling by car another 2 hours to the hotel-only t be met with staff, not flexible enough to check us in 1 hour early-although the hotel did not appear overly busy.
Our stay in August was during the heat of summer, yet the hotel has no AC (ok, not every facility is equipped with AC), but a 50 euro fan (ventilator) can be placed in each unit to accommodate the guests.
At 10pm guests are being advised to move off the large patio (a patio that provides a splendid view to the Wartburg castle-and the only reason why we selected this hotel over any other). Bar service stopped prior 10pm (acceptable), but being told to move inside is not.

A very beautiful setting, a magnificent view, this high-perched hotel is quietly located, in a wooded area very close to the center and the castle.
The welcome is impeccable even when you arrive at midnight :-) and the breakfast with a view of the castle is copious.
Whether you are sporty or looking for a quiet stay, this hotel is for you!

A very beautiful setting perched almost in the middle of nature but still in the city, with a breathtaking view of the castle, these are the sure values that we find every year when we pass through. But above all, we admire the availability and kindness of the staff!

Staff not flexible enough to check in an hour early. However, the hotel was not at full capacity. Unfortunately, there was no mini fridge in the room. At 30 degrees Celsius, unfortunately no air conditioning (ok) but at least you can expect a fan. In the evening, you go to bed at 10 o'clock - at least if you have to follow the staff on the terrace. (You are called to the check-in bar. Like in the GDR times.)

The reception was very friendly and helpful. You can also charge your electric car for free with 220V. The rooms are nice, the location right next to the Wartburg is very picturesque. The initially positive impression is severely marred by the completely unprofessional staff of the restaurant from Pakistan and Afghanistan. Despite having made a reservation, they did not prepare a table for us, and after ordering the food, the waiters forgot our order. After 30 minutes, one of the waiters came and said that the dish we had ordered was no longer available.
