The Funny Lion - El Nido Reviews

So nice to stay in this lovely hotel for two nights!! It gave us unforgettable moment ever in my life. The location of this hotel is very near the town and everything is great, especially the pool!!

This place went above and beyond for my family when we stayed at El Nido - The Funny Lion (June 26 - July 3). The staff are very friendly and professional. Their Customer service is 10/10. When you ask for something, they give it right away. The Manager was really kind and helpful especially to my 2 yr old daughter, Valerie. I am thankful and grateful for the team at El Nido - The Funny Lion. There are a few suggestions for improvements I would like to add: Better drainage system for shower. It always seems like the water would go out of the shower especially when it’s raining outside. Also, an elevator would be great for the guest and especially for the staff when carrying heavy luggages. The wifi spotty and could also be improved especially inside the breakfast area. A better mosquito control on the outside near the pool/restaurant area would be nice too. The people on the backyard would burn their trashes and the smoke would fill the whole air of the hotel area and would not be healthy to breathe in (I wish they wouldn’t burn right next to the hotel). This is probably nitpicking but sometimes the music that plays at the bar/restaurant area is not family friendly and uses profanity. The rooms could use a bit of feng shui or something to make it feel more spacious. The room lighting could also be improved (it always seems a little dark even with all the lights turned on).

Many mosquitos in the room. not so many varieties of food for breakfast buffet. The espresso cappucino is not that good. the room pool view is small. I think the color of funny lion theme is dark black so it looks gloomy and small it attracts insects But., i love the free access to papaya beach and free fresh juices and tote bag handkerchiefs. Service staff are so friendly.

Amazing stay at Funny Lion El Nido. Couldn’t have been better. The Hotel crew is fantastic and will make you feel at home. You will not want to check-out and like to stay there for long. If you are planning El Nido, don’t look elsewhere, just stay at Funny Lion. Big shout out to Val and Team for making us feel at home !

we stayed 2 nights and it was lovely. the staff were so nice we really had a good time there. highly recommend the romantic dinner at rooftop with the sunset. the hotel is a simple but well designed one.

We had a wonderful stay at the funny lion! The entire property is clean and beautifully designed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The private beach is lovely. The only minor suggestions are to put more storage on the room. Another luggage stand and some wall hooks would make it easier to stay organized.

The Funny Lion is a very good hotel with super friendly staff who cannot do enough for you. Breakfast was slightly limited for us as westerners, and food had been out for quite sometime meaning it had gone dry. However pool area was inviting and bedroom was very clean and comfy. Smart TV also which was a bonus!

Awesome hotel. Absolutely loved the amenities, the staff was super friendly and helpful with everything that it made my stay very pleasant. I will definitely come back here again.

Simply great, best hotel in El Nido, if I come back I will stay again.

The location is basically town square, with delicious restaurants. Then you can walk to the beach, which doesn't feel as crowded and noisy as the town center. The hotel breakfast is just so-so, and there is not even coffee. The room soundproofing is not very good, and it was a bit noisy at night when we were on the road. The internal environment is also quite satisfactory, and freshly squeezed juice is provided in the room refrigerator. The hotel service is very good, and we responded to any needs in a timely manner, such as booking tours and cars. The front desk will remember your name and greet you every time they see you, and the security guards seem to have multiple jobs and can help you recruit tuk-tuks.

The staff is very friendly and the facilities are clean since it was recently built. The breakfast was delicious and the beds were comfortable so I slept well in the evening. However, the outside rooms are next to the road, so there is a bit of noise, but other than that, it was very good. The pool was large and the location was within walking distance of town, so there wasn't much of a problem 😄😄 There is a private beach operated by the hotel (Papaya Beach), and I definitely recommend going there.

Excellent hotel! Very good location in the center of El Nido. The rooms are comfortable. The pool and bar are very good, and the buffet breakfast is the best, there is a lot of variety of local and western food. Compared to other hotels in El Nido this one is definitely among my favorites. The only thing I can criticize is the WIFI connection, the days I was there it was cut off all the time. Totally recommended!!
