Lihim Resorts

This is a bit of a lengthy review and sadly not a good one. We have traveled to many countries and stayed at many 5 star resorts and this resort is labeled as a 5 star and it should be at most a 2. We flew into Puerto Princessa and the resort arranged a driver to pick us up which he did. The driver drove like and absolute mad man, in the pouring rain doing 120 with bald tires and next to zero communication with us. He stopped to smoke and left us just sitting there for 20-30 minutes wondering what was going on. I personally love sports cars and going to race tracks so going fast is a normal thing, but when I say that his driving was so nerve racking we both actually said a prayer to make it to the resort safely. It was an extremely nerve racking 5 hour drive that the resort set up. We arrive at the hotel which at first is quite cute until we noticed that villa was not clean at all , there were bugs all over, the ac was not cold at all and the refrigerator was barely below room temperature. Fast forward to the next day, we go on a tour in the city island hopping and get back to find out our shower will not drain. So they come and work on our shower for 4 hours and say that it is fixed. As soon as we go in to take a shower whatever they put down the drain stench is so strong and burned our eyes so bad we couldnt be in the bathroom. So we call again and we are sweaty and have not showered and are laying there at night in bed watching a movie and then they come to tell us they are moving us to a different villa. We paid for an ocean view villa and got a tree view. They do have 2 restaurants and they both are nice and Henris is a super cool little spot. The food offered isnt great, but the people there are very responsive and very polite. The last thing that really bothered us was when we paid them to bring us to town and pick us up for our tour the drop off was fine and as we were waiting for pick up after an 8 hour tour on the ocean all day we went right next to where they dropped us off at in the morning for pick up and messaged them. They stated that the driver is leaving. Its about a 10-15 minute drive from the resort to town. After waiting for about 45 minutes to an hour they messaged me and told me they cant pick us up where we were and to walk 1/2 a mile away to meet. Now this pick up was right next to where they dropped us off so why couldn’t they pick us up? So we walk to where they told us and we still waited another 20-30 minutes. All around it was just not a good experience from the start, its definitely not a 5 star resort and when I asked to be compensated for the trouble and not getting the room I paid for they said no. If you are going to go to elnido DO NOT STAY HERE. If you read the reviews there is a 5 star that is another bad review so im not sure how its 5 stars , but do yourself a favor and stay in town. We booked this hotel on a whim a didn't do must research, expecting it to be a small hotel like in most of the other Philippines Island. We were immediately surprised by the nice welcome transfer at the airport, to the amazing welcome reception upon entering the hotel. We had our own villa with two rooms, one for us, and one of the kids. The room even contained an outdoor shower. The grounds are amazing, and our butler Claud was so wonderful. We only stayed here for two nights and wish we would have stayed longer. My wife and I had a couples massage and facial with bamboo sticks. It was out of this world. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. We even booked our tours of the islands from the hotel. They made everything so easy for us, even a transportation back to the airport with a boxed breakfast since our flight was so early in the morning.

What an awesome experience. From the moment you arrive, they focus on service but also make sure privacy is always maintained. You feel like you have all the space you need, with butler service at your fingertips. Few resorts give you the feeling it is only 5% occupied, well done LIHIM. Food was better than we were expecting, both options were great and cocktails made fresh in your room was a huge surprise. Well done Hannah and Ken, we hope to come back soon

The best place to stay with family . Their unique private villas provided a tranquil space perfect for each guest stay.The food from Gana satisfied our tastebuds especially their pizza as the children's comfort food it was the best that we have tried so far .The sinigang na baka and the sisig is simply the best tasting dish their. The staff are all friendly and well mannered. Salute to our butlers Anne and Jude they are always making sure that your needs are well attended accordingly. The Panari Spa experience is really great , it's relaxing and soothing , I simply love the ginger tea served after a relaxing body wellness treat by their very expert therapists and yes the ultimate goal for the vacation is The Island Tour , it is one great island adventure with our Speed Boat Captain ( whose name I did not recall) and Tour Guide Rex they are very courteous and tour us around the requested islands and lagoons with breathtaking sceneries. For a luxurious treat for self and superb family time ,coming to Lihim and Hayag beach resort is simply the best treat we have of the season's trick or treat holiday.
