We evacuated from Ruidoso on June 17, 2024. I am updating this review because of my contact with Alma who is an asst GM at the Hampton. My husband misunderstood that he had to pay to use the microwave and that was incorrect. I am still disappointed that the bath sink area is wide open and the light is extremely bright(affecting people sleeping). Also, because of our circumstances, Alma amended our charge. I did find out that the hotel is being renovated. Alma went out of her way to make things right and in no way encouraged me to rewrite my review.

My husband and I were voluntarily evacuating from Ruidoso due to terrible wildfires there. We left quickly, and had to drive most of the way in pitch black. We were grateful to find a place to stay but I felt this was a bit overpriced. The room is spacious and has a nice little kitchenette area. The hugest caveat for me is the wide open dressing area/sink in the bathroom with a light bright enough to bring a ship in from the harbor. If you want to sleep and someone needs to wash their hands, you are out of luck. Also, our room was right next to a car dealership with more bright lights. I rarely write negative reviews, but it wasn't the most restful night. In addition, the room was pricey imo, I suppose bc it is large with a kitchenette. Be prepared to use a cc for the use of the microwave.

The personnel was very attentive and kind. The whole place is in very good condition. The only small issue that need to be attended is that the heavier window curtain does not close completely, so the night lights from the front yard and the daylight in the morning do not let you have a proper sleep. Anyway I would definitely stay again there.
