Holiday Inn Express & Suites El Reno

Fast check-in and checkout. Friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and clean. My only complaint is that the bathtub had a really slick bottom. Recommend you put down some gripper ***** or someone is going to get hurt. I didn't do breakfast so can't comment on that. Only had coffee and it was hot and had a good flavor.

I was surprised at how run down this hotel was since my last visit, which was last year. Seriously, it wasn't that great. First off the trash outside was piled high and rarely emptied, this was constantly. Dirty front sidewalk with the front entrance mat crumpled in the corner. The front automatic doors didn't work well, had to pry them open with my hands once. Once inside it was ok, the front desk staff was friendly with a quick interaction. In fact, that is the only staff I saw. I stayed on two separate days. The elevator jerked severely when it stopped. That was elevator number 2. I wouldn't take the elevator again or used the stairs, it was that concerning. Every single vending machine on all floors were completely empty and totally out of service. Even the amenity room adjacent to the reception area was empty. Also, no card to put the hotel keys in. Nope, just a key and a post-it note with the room number and password to wifi. On the first day, the room was musty and wasn't as clean as it should have been. I almost left, because it felt dingy and smelt. The door had a huge gap in it, not a small one. I tried to take a picture, but it didn't do it justice. The door had to be pushed hard to get it to lock. Just slept and left the next morning. Came back a few days later and the room was on a different floor and so much cleaner. I didn't feel the need to run out. Didn't even bother with breakfast. Why take the chance? This place has seen better days. I have been IHG member for many years and usually had anywhere from good to excellent experiences with this brand but not this time. IHG needs to up their game with this property. I can't recommend this place or won't be back. I hate writing this review, but I would want an honest review when choosing a hotel.

I have been trying to think of something positive to say about this hotel and so far I can only come up with three items: (1) The room appeared to be clean (2) There were enough towels (3) There was adequate soap, conditioner, shampoo and lotion. Otherwise, this place was pitiful. The front entrance was filthy with the big outside door mat wadded up and thrown into a corner and with dirt, leaves, twigs accumulating at the entrance. Every single vending machine on all floors were completely empty and totally out of service. Even the amenity room adjacent to the reception area was bare. My husband went downstairs for breakfast and even the juice dispenser was empty and out of service. As for staff, other than the one front desk person we saw on check-in, no one else was in evidence. We have been IHG members for many years and have usually had anywhere from good to excellent experiences with this brand but not this time. IHG needs to up their game with this property. Not recommended.

Didn’t get to El Reno until about 9PM. No parking except way on the far end. And there were crazy dogs barking at the house next to the wall. Of course my room was on that side on the 2nd floor. Had to listen to barking all night. Front desk lady was nice. They had the AC on full blast so it was only 66 degrees in the room. Had to turn on the heat. My room was pretty awesome. Really large. Large king bed. The entire wall was a giant desk with a giant tv. The screen was really sharp and since it’s so big it looked like I was in the same room as the actors. The big drawback was it’s really slow changing channels. I figured out that going to the guide is the best way. Can scroll through that much faster than trying to scroll through channels. The bathroom was huge. Used all Dove products. They had pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. Small box of soap for the sink. The shower was great. Hot water. Good pressure. Large towels. The worst part of the room was the fridge was smaller than expected. It was behind a door in the desk so I assumed it was that size, but there was a microwave on top of it. Also no freezer area so all my ice packs for my coolers weren't going to freeze. Slept really well. This place was really quiet even though the doors slam loudly. Bed was comfy although the pillows were kind of squishy. Definitely would stay again.

Room was ok. The COVID protocol on TripAdvisor was not followed. The hotel did feel clean however. Our smoke detector was not present in our room. I noticed in my niece’s room the curtains were unattached on the rod. The shower water was extremely hot!!! We had a very quiet night. We would stay again.

My husband & I don’t care for the bath gel pumps; we prefer bar soap. Our room didn’t have one for some reason (I mean, how do you wash your hands??). My husband asked the desk clerk for one this morning (10/15/21) and she said they didn’t have any! That’s not believable because surely they stock the room each day? Also the shower curtain had a dirty area so I know it hadn’t been changed out. Disappointing for a Holiday Inn!
