Beach Club Doganay Hotel - All Inclusive

We have just come back from a week's stay. We went as a family. My review is a mixed review and based on our experiences over the week. We arrived late at night. Check in went smoothly and staff seemed friendly enough. We arrived up to our room to find we only had 3 beds, we were missing pillows, no top sheets (just blankets) and no drinks in the fridge. We mentioned at reception and waited in the room, nothing appeared. We ended up having to pull a fold up bed into the room from the hallway, this had a dirty sheet on it. We went back to reception and eventually had a fresh sheet put on the bed and one pillow (no spares like a family member had in their wardrobe). We gave up on the top sheets and drinks in our fridge, as we had asked a couple of times. The next morning we had a look around. There was no view, we just had the shops and walk way below. The bathroom was dated and in need of a revamp, it wasn't overly clean around the bath and in the cupboard. Toilet roll was sparce and I ended up having to find some myself. Beds were made and fresh towels given each day, although still no drinks in the fridge. Air con was good. Lots of storage space for clothes. The carpet on the landing on the first floor was absolutely filthy, with what looked like a couple of dried sick splatters on it. One night we also saw a cat sleeping in one of the babies travel cots that was left outside the room. They seem to leave cots and fold up beds in the lading spaces outside rooms for the next guests. The fold up bed we had to use was old, not comfortable and covered in stains. We just made do as figured if we can't get drinks and sheets in the room, then doubtful they had a better one we could use. The hotel was packed so doubt there was any others. The kids pool was enjoyable and area kept clean, although very busy. Sun beds were always available before 8.30. The Flora bar was a nice area to sit in for a drink, staff were friendly, although the soft drinks pipes were surrounded by wasps. One evening a drinks pipe was blocked and when unblocked it was because loads of wasps had become stuck up there! There seemed to be plenty of food, although as a vegetarian I found my only hot option all week was a green bean stew and a chicken pea stew along with rice and chips, by day 3 i was fed up. The addition of candy floss/pop corn/ ice cream was nice. We tried the Italian a la carte and was disappointed to find there was only one choice served. Salad, soup, beef and Mash, tiramisu. As a vegetarian, I couldn't eat the main. After, most of us came down with cramps, diarrhea, sickness. Mine was severe cramps, followed by diarrhea for the next 5 days and counting! Same with my daughter. What is the stench in the toilets by the bar and the beach toilets? Made us gag!! One night just before midnight we had a loud knock on the door waking us up,it was maintenance insisting on looking in our bathroom as there was a leak downstairs. I complained as found this unacceptable thi
Tui Blue Pascha Bay

We’ve just had a very pleasant 10 day stay at Pascha Bay (2 adults and a 6 year old). Last year for a special birthday we splashed out on a swim up room at a Sensatori resort and prior to that didn’t need to worry about school holiday dates, so were able to stay in more expensive hotels for the same price we paid for Pascha Bay. As with most things in life, there is clearly a difference in what you get based on what you spend and there are several indicators as to how this hotel differs from a Sensatori level hotel. However that is not to detract from Pascha Bay at all which we feel offers good value for money and has allowed us to have a really enjoyable family holiday. Staff work incredibly hard. The level of cleanliness is excellent and rooms spacious and welcoming. There are lots of lovely touches the hotel work hard to put on - fresh fruit and waffles being brought round the pool during the day; a weekly ‘children’s carnival’ and regular check-ins by staff making sure everything is to our liking. Food is good - plenty of choice and especially delicious Turkish dishes. We were initially given an interconnecting room which became problematic when our neighbours got rather intimate on the other side of the thin door and on another occasion came in late at night and proceeded to argue. We asked to be moved the following morning and guest relations (Cem) sorted this for us which we were very grateful for. Had this not have happened we would not have enjoyed our holiday anywhere near as much as it sounded as though our neighbours were in the room with us. From speaking with another family, they also had a locked interconnecting door and had similar problems with sound. We understand that hotels want to maximise space and room occupation but this will lead to other unhappy situations when even limited noise results in disturbance to a neighbour. Thankfully our new room was perfect. The hotel is set up so that the entertainment stage and dining area are in the same location. You’re therefore forced into getting to dinner relatively early (for us) to secure a table near the stage. You then stay there for the night- rather than (what we’ve previously been used to) having separate dining and entertainment areas. Most of the tables are outside with only a limited number of tables inside. The hotel has made the most of the space it has in doing this - it probably isn’t what we’d choose but there isn’t a space where a stage could be put elsewhere. The one aspect I think could be easily changed for the better is the smoking areas; especially in one of the pool bars which is the only place to get an ice cream within the all inclusive offering. Because of this, it is a popular place for children to gather but every table has smoking permitted. I can appreciate Turkey has a more relaxed approach to smoking than is increasingly the case in the UK but think either the location to get ice cream should be changed or that pool bar not allow smoking throughout

This hotel had awful reviews but do not listen!! We have had the pleasure of spending 8 nights here and each night got better!! The food and drink (especially the salad bar) was unreal - make sure u book for Turkish night Friday because it got better. The entertainment was good - pool games did the job. We had the upmost pleasure of sitting with the owner and he was such a gent. Rooms have air con so don’t worry and the private beach so worth it!!!
