Porto Skala Hotel Village

This was a lovely hotel, rooms, staff, food etc., all great. But... the location is too far from any shop, bar or the centre. About 30 minutes plus, walk from the centre, which in the heat is not good for older people. The hotel runs a shuttle bus to the centre (1.50 euro each Sept 2024) but it must be booked in advance and has limited hours of operation) Also, the shuttle bus is quite high to get in and out of.  A simple folding step, as used by other vehicles would be the solution. A taxi back from the shuttle drop is 8 euro (Sept 2024) There are MANY steps from the main road to and from reception and to the rooms. The way to the beach immediately opposite the steps down from the hotel reception are steep, no hand rail and in my opinion currently dangerous. (and from comments from other guests) So, unless you are quite mobile and have a car or just want an excellent hotel, great food and pool & really friendly staff this may not be the place for you.

I stayed there with my family, no complaints about the rooms they were very clean and the housekeeping was amazing at their job , the hotel was very clean and the breakfast menu had a variety of amazing products but not everything is as it seems, if you plan on staying there keep in mind that in almost all their rooms the Wi-Fi and Data do not work unfortunately, if you want to surf the net you have to go into the pool area where the Hotel Wi-Fi is working, lastly the reception was not helpful at all when I made a complaint about the Wi-Fi , instead she said that they would check it out ( they never did) after I made that complaint she was so rude not even responding to our greetings out of spite every time we went back in our rooms from an outing. I never felt so unwelcomed before in a Hotel , please keep in mind that not all staff is rude, everyone else was amazing and welcoming, the receptionist also chose how to speak to certain guests so if you go you might have a more pleasant time than we did , the pool is very clean but be careful at the pool stairs because it is unfortunately broken ! We had the most amazing stay at the Porto Skala hotel and I would not hesitate to book here again! First and foremost the staff who work here are lovely, especially Giannis and Evelyn who went out of their way to talk to us every night- they made our holiday truly wonderful. The breakfast selection is the best I have seen in Greece, with freshly prepared pancakes and waffles featuring every other day. The rooms are serviced daily and sheets are changed every 3 days. Air conditioning and the safe are also included in the price, which was a welcome surprise! Yes, the location is a little out of the way, but there is a shuttle bus from the hotel that runs from 9am-9pm daily for a small charge of €1.50 per person. The walk down into the centre of Skala takes approximately 35 minutes- we walked in on some days but preferred to take the bus. We also got a taxi back every night from the town- this cost €7-€8 depending on whether the drivers were local or if they had travelled from Argostoli. We liked the peaceful aspect of the hotel, with access to the secluded cove and a quiet pool area with plenty of sun beds. We often went to the pool around 5.30pm for a cool evening dip. If I could change anything, it would be to remove the feature of a tab. We prefer to pay for bar drinks and snacks upfront as we always have a daily budget, so we only used the pool bar twice. We would’ve used it more if we could pay upfront. This is only a minor ****** and I would definitely return again! :)

Literally just landed home amazing 10 days room serviced every day.clean towels everyday free aircon and safe x staff so friendly and polite. No issue with sunbed very chilled vibes. Back next year xx I lost my phone in taxi and Evelyn helped me get it back. Xx see you next year xx

This was our second visit to Porta Skala village. And as soon as we walked in I knew why I rebooked. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are so friendly 😍 The breakfast is really good with a large selection of very good food. The pool is the best we have been to and always have plenty of sunbeds at any time of the day. We upgraded to a sea view room and the view was stunning. The whole hotel is really pretty little coloured houses 🏘 The beds and pillows are superb.. better than my bed at home infact. Air conditioning and safe are included and that's a welcome bonus. The shuttle bus is also a brilliant service for a very small charge. I really can't fault the hotel and will 100 % return. If I could change a couple of things it would be more choice at lunch times at the pool bar. The baguettes are delicious however the same every day. Also I'm not that keen in everything on a tab. You can pay every day .. but we have a budget and felt sometimes the tab ran away with us 😕 But over all this is a lovely place to stay.. one of my favourites in skala ♡

The hotel is really nice - situated in front of sea (just across the road) in a quiet part near the town Skala (about 2 km). Good for tourists who like peace and quiet. There are nice and cosy apartments, mostly with the view of the sea. You can stay at the pool and go to 2 small beaches with pebbles and great for snorkleing (be carefull - 1 beach is accessible only via broken wooden bridge). There is a hotel shuttle bus going to Skala (sand beachesú but you must pay for it - 1 journey per person 1,50 E - should be free for the hotel guests! You must also pay for the beach towels - even again, when you want to change them. There is a nice bar at the pool and super restaurant with an amazing choise of fruit and products for breakfast and awsome meals for dinner - fantastic Greek meals and super chef Maria. We recommend to rent a car and explore the island.

We had an excellent holiday. Chose a room with a sea view, beautiful view and a good balcony to enjoy it from. Room was good, comfortable bed, kettle but bring your own tea etc. Good shower and the air-conditioning was quit and efficient. Excellent breakfast and very good food for dinner. Restaurant overlooks the sea. Pool was lovely plenty of sunbeds. Small pebble beach straight across from hotel, good for Snorkeling. If you want sand 20 minute walk. Overall very good holiday. Many thanks to Marie who made our Ruby wedding anniversary very memorable 💖

3rd visit to Poto Skala. Really enjoyed our holiday, Room with sea view was very good. Efficient quiet air-conditioning Good shower, comfortable bed. Pebble beach just across from hotel. Good for Snorkeling. Pool was very good. Excellent breakfast. Dined a number of times. Big thanks to Marie who made our Ruby Wedding evening very special.

A fabulous stay at Porto Skala :) We really needed a relaxing break and our holiday here allowed for this. Highlights for us included the amazing views from our balcony of the sunrise and seas as well as a welcoming pool area. Dani and his team gave exceptional customer service at what was probably the best breakfast selection we have experienced in Greece. Excellent room service with a real respect for our needs was very much appreciated. We chose to walk into Skala for most of the holiday but the shuttle bus was readily available along with local taxis. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again so thank you to the team :)
