Arrived late evening on a road trip. Upon checking into the room, the air conditioning did not work, and the toilet was clogged. Called the front desk and there was no mainteanace on staff. Asked for a different room ,was told we couldn't move. Front desk person, who was nice, came to the room to unclog toilet, but made a mess. He then told us to ignore the written directions on the wall for the AC, and he was able to get the fan running. Room was not in great shape.

Just okay sums it up. It looks like they updated the public areas, but the halls, the elevator, and the room were in rough condition. The toilet was running non-stop and the flush handle broke off. We could hear the guy next door on the phone, it sounded like he was in our room. Bathroom design was good, plenty of room for toiletries, and the light around the mirror was great! Easy checkin/checkout. Breakfast was good and the area was clean. Not a good value, think we’ll stay elsewhere next time.

The stay was amazing. Bed was comfortable, slept like a baby. All the staff were kind. The only issue we had was there was NO PARKING, the first night we parked in handicap cause that was the only parking they had available.

Have stayed at a few La Quinta locations prior and the hotel and rooms were always clean as was this one. Staff is excellent. The only drawbacks were the smells in the rooms at least on the lower level. We had two rooms and both had mildew odors. One room was very bad and we requested a different room. Most on lower level had a musty smell but the upper levels were fine. Staff was very apologetic and made sure that they got us into a room we could not smell the mustiness. One last issue was the drain in lower level room was very slow. Had to stop shower several times to not overflow the shower stall. Would probably return since rooms were reasonably priced but would request upper level room.

I will choose another hotel if I stay in Elkhart again. The rooms were clean, but run down. Bathroom floor tiles were loose and most of the grout was missing. The breakfast options were poor and not fresh. A housekeeping employee walked right into my room without warning. Most disturbing to me was hearing 2 employees at the front desk loudly trashing another coworker during the breakfast time when all the guests there could hear. It didn't leave me with a good feeling about how things are run there.
