We zijn hier voor één nacht geweest om in de omgeving te gaan wandelen. De kamer was netjes en schoon, een goed bed, al is de inrichting wat gedateerd. Dat laatste geldt voor het hele hotel, maar dat heeft toch ook zijn charme. Zeker omdat alles er gewoon netjes en verzorgd uitzag. In het restaurant was een uitgebreide menukaart. Het personeel dacht zonder problemen mee met mijn gluten intolerantie (dat is wel eens anders) en ik heb er vervolgens heerlijk gegeten. Ook bij het ontbijtbuffet had ik genoeg keuze. Aan glutenvrij brood was ook gedacht. We konden ook voor de lunch een pakketje meekrijgen (tegen betaling uiteraard). Al met al was het een positieve ervaring en we willen zeker nog eens terukomen!

In Emmerich selbst haben wir als durchnässten Fahrradfahrer keine Unterkunft gefunden. In einer verrauchten Bar Nähe Bahnhof erhielten wir den Tipp in Eltern bei "Wanders" zu übernachten. Wir wurden trotz unseres nassen Zustands sehr freundlich empfangen. Die Küche hat unser wegen sogar eine viertel Stunde Überzeit gemacht, damit wir noch ein warmes Nachtessen erhielten. Würde das Hotel alles weiter empfehlen!

Een uitstekend, klassiek hotel, echt "Deutsche Gründlichkeit". De kamer was prima (bed, TV, douche, WC), zo ook het ontbijtbuffet. Voor reizigers met het openbaar vervoer, zoals ik, is het hotel gemakkelijk te bereiken met de regionale trein tussen Arnhem en Emmerich (richting Wesel, Düsseldorf), vanaf station Emmerich-Elten is het zo'n 10 minuten lopen.

Sehr sehr unhöflich und schlecht gelaunt. Sowohl die Dame am Empfang als auch im Anschluss der Besitzer. Bereits am Telefon wurde mir verdeutlicht das man ind eigentlich ungern abends um 22 Uhr noch Empfangen möchte. Vor Ort waren wir sprachlos über die neg. Atmosphäre Wir kommen nicht wieder

A nice, comfortable and very friendly hotel that is run by the same family for generations. Nicely located in the center of Elten, close to the Borghees golfcourse. Great service, comfortable room, nice german breakfast. The terras was great including the service and the ice cream selection 😍 It was a real pleasure staying there.

Verblijf van een midweek in een mooie ruime kamer, goede bedden en prima sanitair. Gastheer Theo is zeer vriendelijk en spreekt uitstekend Nederlands. Het personeel is zeer attent en vriendelijk. Alles is keurig schoon en het eten is uitstekend. Op de markt is er doordeweeks al vroeg activiteit, ook door woon-werkverkeer, maar de geluidsisolatie is prima. Met een kleine wandeling heuvelop ben je binnen een half uur in hoog Elten. In het weekend en op feestdagen is er smiddags een prachtige bezichtiging van de 60 meter diepe waterput mogelijk, van 1000 jaar oud. En met de kinderen kun je er leuk midgetgolf spelen en een snack of ijsje nuttigen. In de buurt zijn diverse mogelijkheden voor kleine tripjes, wandelingen, shoppen, terrasjes, musea of bijzonder flora en fauna.

Prima hotel om te verblijven. Bed is heerlijk. Restaurant was echt heel erg lekker. Er was op de kamer alleen bijna geen wifi en geen tafel waardoor ik niet kon werken. Beetje jammer maar ook wel eens lekker en dus beneden naar de bar voor een extra drankje. Personeel is erg aardig.

We needed a small bite inbetween stops, and here it was, on Elten’s nice little central Square: the Terrace of Wanders Restaurant. It offers a wide selection of chanterelle dishes, also vegetarian. It is our favourite mushroom, and the chanterelle vol au vents were a delight.

We stayed at Hotel-Restaurant Wanders for one night. Easy to find in the very centre of town. Check in was easy, and they have free secure parking at the rear of the hotel. Our room was clean and the beds comfortable. Wifi was a bit iffy but I did manage to connect. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food and service was excellent. Would certainly stay here again.
